So I received my new 901 kits from RuyanDirect/Heaven's Gifts today, and noticed that in the box it said that the unit had been tested so I assumed that the battery came pre-charged.

Just to check on it, I plugged in the wall charger and the light on the charger went green. So it must have been pre-charged I figured.

I heavily vaped on that one battery for about an hour and a half or so and then it died. No problem though, I was expecting that what with all the chain-vaping I was doing.

My question is this though...

When I went to plug-in the battery, the wall charger indicator light was orange for a while, then started rapidly flashing orange and green. Is this normal? It's doing this on all my batteries actually.

I assume that when the battery is fully charged, the wall charger light would stay green, not flashing, correct? Or is it possible that all my batteries came pre-charged and this orange/green flashing is telling me they're ready to be used?

I'm new to this whole vaping game, so please forgive me if these are stupid questions.

I checked the engrish manual that came with it but didn't see anything about this issue in there, so I figured I'd ask you nice folks here since you've already all been so helpful to me and my many inane questions. :)

Thanks,
Dave

I was told in the beginning to ignore the light on the charger, do an initial 8 hour charge, and then 3-5 hours after that. Haven't had any problems.

901s come with manual batteries now, which seem much better than the automatics of days past from what I have experienced this far. You may want to have a few backups. They use the same charger, but you will need to buy a 1" extension for them because of the button.

Thanks for the reply, Duckies. I definitely plan on buying some more backup batteries very, very soon, especially because I was chain vaping this morning and I foresee that being a problem when I need another battery but it's still on the charger. I think it'd probably be best to have at LEAST 3 batteries in rotation at one time.

So I guess manual would be the way to go then. I wonder if Rockymountainvapor carries them (and the extensions). I'll check later when I get home from my second job tonight.

In the mean time, I've got 2 batteries charging. I'm going to let them charge for the next 7 and a half hours, then in the middle of the night tonight I'll pop in my other 2 and let them go until tomorrow.

Yes, RMV has the manuals and extensions. I just ordered some from them last week. They got here a few days ago and are a vast improvement over my autos (noting that my autos have been in rotation since March).

The 901 atty + Prodigy is my vape of choice at home, but my matte black 901 manuals are for when I step out. I am SO glad these are matte now. The fingerprints on the old auto shiny ones made me nuts.

Good plan on the charging rotation. That should do the trick. If it doesn't, definitely return the charger. You'll know easily by vaping on each of them once you pull them off to see how the draw is.

Amazing technology but a real pain in the .... at times. :)

I have two Janty usb chargers (corded) and they do the red while charging then green with red blinking every 5 seconds after the batts are charged. Why? I don't know. IOW, they never go full green. Never had a wall plug type charger that did that though.

The charge for 8 hours deal is 'old' nicad tech and doesn't apply to new ecig batts. See batteryuniversity.com for all the details.

yes they sent me another charger. it works as it should. orange=charging, green=charged. maybe flipping a few times during the transition point.

you said "chargers"... you have more than one with these symptoms?

Yeah, I have 2 chargers. I bought two 901 kits. One for me and one for my wife. But I can tell already that 2 chargers and 4 batteries is simply NOT going to be enough for the both of us...lol

Interestingly enough, when I came home tonight (or this morning actually) at 2am, my chargers were lit green instead of the intermittent orange/green.

So that leads me to believe that my chargers just may be alright afterall. For some reason they flash during some part of the charging phase, then switch to a solid green when complete. I had never heard of this, which led me to worry that something may be wrong with them. But I guess they are okay afterall! :)

If not English, I would venture to say that it is one of the best English-as-second-language I have seen. :)

LOL

Thanks, Duckies.

@liscab : Actually, english is my first language. I'm not as literate as many here, so it may seem as though I'm still trying to grasp the language, but no...it's the only language I know! :)

Okay. It's settled then. I'm definitely ordering some manuals from RMV a.s.a.p. Thanks for the heads up, Duckies. I seriously do appreciate you taking the time to out to assist me in my "vaping journey". :)

The Prodigy....yes. A couple weeks ago I turned my buddy on to this whole e-cig culture and the next day at work he told me he had been up all night (out of excitement) studying e-cigs and he had decided to go with the Prodigy as well (with the 510 atomizer).

And yes, technology is definitely amazing, albeit a source of pain in the .......lol

Thanks again for your assistance and quick replies. I will not forget it, my friend.
