I have a few questions to ask. When steeping custards what is the maximum time in a crock pot? I am trying to measure flavors as precise as possible using a blunt tip needle to pull the flavors out of the bottle. Should I be concerned with the amount in the tip? I am not using nic in my recipes and the color is not really changing is because the lack of nic? I have tried using caps super sweet and it is not what I'm looking for any suggestions? I've read many blogs and nothing is really working for me yet, none of the recipes I'm trying are strong enough.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I don't vape custards or zero nic so I probably can't be of much direct help but I'd suggest poking around in the TFA thread some, as mentioned above. Several there are using high percents to get the flavor they want. Of course it's mostly TFA flavors but I'd think if the concept works for you it could be applied to more that just TFA and should be worth a shot at least. It's a big thread but if you start several pages back plus read Bill's blog you should get the general idea.

I have yet to make custards myself but a guy I know steeps his for about 3 weeks. Never used a crock pot either. I have only let them age on their own. What percentages are you using because there is a thing as too much flavoring. TIME is your friend ;) Here is some great information that was posted to me on my DIY thread from danny45: "Congratulations and let me recommend some reading material to help you along. Keep us posted on your progress.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine bases regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.
