Starting my travels down DIY road,

Hey everyone. Just received my order from Wizard Labs today for my PG, VG, 36mg nic and measuring syringes with blunt tips. Got my 2 dram vials yesterday for testing and 30ml bottles (all glass) for my final creations. I only have three flavors right now, but have another order on the way from ECX. I am starting with testing my single flavors (Oba Oba (Flavourart), White Peach (Flavourart) and Bavarian Cream (Flavor West)) with increasing percentages in 5ml amounts @0mg. I am using the crock pot method for steeping. Wondering about a later mix of the Oba Oba and Bavarian Cream, or the White Peach and Bavarian Cream, hummm.

My order inbound from ECX:

Honeysuckle (TFA/Signature)
Blueberry (FW)
New York Cheesecake (CAP)
French Vanilla (Cap)
Vanilla Custard (TFA/Signature) Upset that ECX only had 120ml sizes of Caps Vanilla Custard

I will update thread with my personal preferred percentages.

Just finished my first 8 2 dram vials with batches.

Flavor Art Oba Oba 40/60 0mg nic
Batch 1: 5%
Batch 2: 7.5%
Batch 3: 10%

Flavor Art White Peach 40/60 0mg nic
Batch 1: 5%
Batch 2: 10%
Batch 3: 12%

Flavor West Bavarian Cream 40/60 0mg nic
Batch 1: 5%
Batch 2: 10%

Now sitting in the crock pot at 150 degrees. After 2 hours I'll shake and burp them, then put them back in for another 2 hours.

My impatience got to me, couldn't seem to wait 24 hours after taking the vials out of the crock pot. I am a believer in DIY.

I'm vaping the 5% White Peach as I type this and I have to say, very nice. Maybe a little weak, so I'll give it a 3/5. Very sweet, taste the peach. smooth, no chemical or perfumey taste. I also get a peachy aftertaste.

most of your fruit flavs and bavarian cream wont need to steep they should be good right off the bat , never used the custard stuff , if you try them first and they are good steeping wont change them , hope you have lots of fun and welcome to a new and wonderful world of DIY

You'll never know what effect steeping has on a mix if you don't try them right after mixing.

it will steep just by sitting on the shelf so unless you plan on vaping the whole bottle in one day then i guess you would not know

Percentage findings with these batches:

Flavor Art White Peach - all percentages were very pronounced. My target for single flavor would be 7-8%.
Flavor West Bavarian Cream - The two percentages were very good. Target for single flavor 5-6%.
Flavor Art Oba Oba - Very confused on this one. Very weak on all percentages. I read a thread that alluded that 7% is the sweet spot. So I made a 7% and am going to let it steep for a week or so then try again.

Trying a White Peach and Bavarian Cream recipe now with different percentages.

You'll never know what effect steeping has on a mix if you don't try them right after mixing.

Never a truer word spoke. You always need to taste your new or experimental mixes before steeping so you have a baseline to gauge steeping progress. If speed steeping make 2 samples one to steep and one to gauge it's steep process.

Very good advice. I will definitely start doing that. This is, after all, a learning process...a fun one at that

You may be over flavoring with your Flavour Art. FA is stronger than other vendors normally. Start batches with 2%, then move up from there.

State~ I have that honeysuckle as well. It's very nice..kind of a peachy/honey..well, it's its own flavor. Try it mixed with the blueberry..and/or the peach too for that matter. I like it at about 10%. You might like it at less of course.

Dena- definitely going to try the honeysuckle with the blueberry. Didn't think of the white peach, thanks for the suggest. Ordered it with other flavors Friday from ecx and it's sitting in my local post office (1 mile from my house) this morning, and they say it's set for delivery on Friday. Can't believe they will hold it for two days just to match the estimated delivery.
