This is my first post. :)

My fiance and I quit smoking about 3-4 weeks ago. I still kept dipping camel snus like I had for the last 4 years or so, and my fiance called that "cheating" lol...

a friend of mine went to Good Vapes in Dallas and posted a pic of this weird thing he called an e-cig...i went to a head shop trying to find more information, and they also recommended good vapes..so i obviously had to check it out.

They held my hand through the process, let me sample about 30 juices, and an hour later i came out with 2 650mah ego upgrade batteries with 2 vision clearomizers and some juice. INSTANTLY quit dipping, too! whoohoo!

Now, unfortunately, i'm a tinkerer...so now i have:

2 650mah ego-t/c upgrades
1 650mah ego passthrough
1 Smoktec Gripper VV mod 18650
1 knockoff 1000mah ego twist (favorite)... but broke in an hour and is being replaced for free lol
and 1 SLB VV passthrough ego on the way

not to mention like 100ml of various juices, a couple tanks, multiple clearomizers and wicks all over the place.

and i don't regret it at all..just wish i could find a favorite vape...i keep going back to Summer Blend 24mg from good vapes as a base and mix from there.

anyway, that's my short story..and it only started last tuesday :)

Hi and welcome! Ummm...cigarette smoking = novelty-seeking addictive personality. ;) You're in the right place.

Finding an e-liquid you like can be frustrating and expensive. After smoking cigarettes, your senses of taste and smell are messed up, so flavors may not taste like you imagine they will, or you might not taste them at all. It took me 2 months to be able to taste more than menthols and mints; I still can't taste many of the subtle flavors and fruits sometimes taste like plastic. I think menthol smokers, like me, have a little easier time because of the menthols/mint flavors available.

This might give you a little insight: Taste Buds and Vaper's Tongue

I share your problem Kosher Fried. I started with a kr-808, bad Idea but a nice backup and good for stealth vapes. I bought 2 egos then an ego twist a few days later. 2 weeks later I bought a lavatube clone and a ton of tanks and clearomizers. Now I find myself shopping for new mods whenever I'm bored. I also buy too much juice, that's just becasue I'm picky and I want to try everything to find what I like. I wish I would have just started with a mod and saved a lot of money. I think I'll give away my egos to friends that smoke to try to get them on the vape train.

It's probably best to get familiar with gear, before buying more gear. The refilling of cartos can affect how it tastes/vapes/works, VV can change all of that as well.

As mentioned, don't buy a ton of juice at first. Your taste and smell are not recovered yet from smoking. What tastes great now, may easily taste bad in a month or two.

The main thing is? Whatever lets us quit smoking is the best one!

Good luck, and stick with it.

All I can say is don't become addicted to buying. I have bought so many mods, tanks, cartos, now I'm into my mechanical mods with my kick and genni attys. I feel I spend more on vaping then I did smoking...lol. but I have to say vaping is a lot safer and healthier. If your like me, you will want every new e-cig and mod that comes out...lol. get comfortable with one mod or ecig and then you want to buy a new one. Sell your old one. Happy vapers keep vapin

ive got alot invested in vaping over the past 3 years or so... ive had 3 ego style batts ($150 approx), 3 lava tubes($300 approx), i ordered a Caravela mod ($250 depending on exchange rates when its ready), i ordered 2 GLV's 1 fullsize glv2 and one glv mini($170), genesis atomizers ($20 a piece minus rebuilds i.e.. wicks and coil wire) multiple carto tanks and carto's (unknown amt of money spend) and literally hundreds if not thousands invested in juices....

I know guys who have spent much more money on just devices i do it because i love to vape!

Best of luck

Half the fun of vaping is trying all of the great juices out there. ECF is a great resource too. There are so many opinions here, it makes it a little easier deciding which vendors are reputiple enough to get my business. I think its safe to say, most of us in the begining stages of vaping have spent their fair share of money trying to find out what works best for them. I can attest to that as I've had several different units before finally breaking down and dropping the dough on a provari. All of my other equipment and some juice has been given to others that are curious enough to try. Enjoy your journey!!!!

well i do have a buying addiction kinda...

i hated my last job, but made a lot of money, so i bought a new handgun every month and customized it (because im in Texas!).

Ha ha. You do have a thing for expensive hobbies, eh? At least juice is cheaper than ammo!

I've been vaping for two months yesterday and I just crossed the $300 mark... and now I'm on the search for a VV/VW setup. I figure once I've finally found my ideal set-up and everyday juice, the costs will level out. Maybe I'm delusional, though... ;)
