And sure nuff.....It was the miracle I was looking for!

16 days...no analogs
16 days...no real desires or problems
16 days...and I can breathe better already
16 days...and very little coughing left

That is fantastic!!! You go Texasgranny!!! I know it's going to work for me too...I can tell from the days that I have had good experiences with these carts that I bought.

Congtrats to you,:)

Hey deb, if you're a Kool smoker, you probably need the "harshness" which translates into TH (throat hit) of a higher powered PV. The eGo is basically a 510 kit with a high powered battery, so it gives the hit I need. Also, if you decide to move onto something else later (ie: box mod, etc.) the pieces you have will probably be compatable. I started with 18 mg and had problems quitting until I moved up to 24 mg, but a lot of it depends on your vaping style. So my advice is to get a few different strengths. That said, VaporBomb ships so quickly, if you need something different, you'd have it within 2 days (thank goodness for that). Good luck and enjoy! Hope you find your sweet spot soon.

Mlinky,

You are so right about needing the "harshness" of the hit. I've always preferred the "stronger' menthol's. I'm going to order some small bottles of both the 18mg & the 24mg so I can try them & see which I like better. At first I thought the 24mg would be too strong but the more i read here the more I realize that it may not be too strong.
Everyone gave me such great info here...I will definitely let you all know when I find my "sweet spot".:)

Heya Debcos! Welcome, there is a lot to learn, make sure you have a good time doing it! I will point out first and foremost that there is no single "best" e cig, juice, way to vape (dripping, using cartomizers, etc.) Because everyone is different! I have seen people really love ecigs that I didnt like at all, and vise-versa. I have a blog set up to help newbies like you with some good articles on how to get started. eCigology - The Science of E-Cigs

The best thing to do is make a purchase you think will be good and then start trying everything. You will figure out what you like very quickly! I started with what sounds like the same ecigs and moved on to a 510 within weeks, and that was about 7 months ago. I have moved on to bigger and better units of course and Im sure you will too. You will love the freedom of being able to buy and use your own juices compared to having to use those stupid prefilled cartridges... I would go through like 6-8 of those a day at this point.

Good luck! Let me or anyone know if you have any questions at all.

Thanks...I am going to check out your blog right now.

I am beginning to realize that you are so right about me just needing to make a purchase of what I thibk will be good for me & then just start trying out different things if need be.

I know exactly what you mean when you say that you would be going through 6-8 carts a day by now...I'm not going through quite that many, luckily, but I have been going through 4-6 a day.

Thanks again,
debbie

And Debcos, if you hurry, Liberty-Flights (gotta have the dash) has the Riva 510 starter kit now for $34.95 I think it was. The Riva 510 is very similar to an Ego.

Actually they still have the 20% off sale going on so you can get a new Riva kit for $29.99 and grab a few 5 ml flavors to try out to see what you might like.

On my ProVape, I have the LR cartomizers and the AW battery upgrade. Technically is gives me more ump I think.
I got a box of 5 cartomizers with my order. Due to my inexperience I was afraid I was going to "flood" my cartos, and did not have enough juice in them and the first couple of days...I burnt up a couple (you will know)

Then I came back here, read and learned that it is way better to flood one than to run one dry. A flood you can recover from (just blow out excess) and the burnt one you cannot recover (taste/smell wont leave)

I don't need a pass thru with this set up. Pass thru's are so you can save on batteries (mainly)
My battery charge lasts for over 7 full hours, before I even notice a slight let down.

Also, research and read up the pass thru thing as I have read several places, that they can...harm your computer...if not used properly.

I odered more cartomizers and now what I do, is I have 4 to 5 carto's filled the night before. Next day, I rotate thru those 4 to 5 thru out the day. This is to help prevent drying one out or overheating. (especially with us noobs)
So I have to do very little maintenance thru out the day. I have a painters pen and have each carto numbered, so I can keep track of what is in each carto as well as if it is getting to the end of its time.
Right now, the cartos I am using are over 2 weeks old and going strong.

There are alot of suggestions and videos out about how to clean/wash them. My personal opinion on that..is it is not worth the time and effort for that (but that's me)
(NOTE to deb: watch video on Youtube about burnt fillings/fiber inside cartos)

So that's a typical day of vaping for me.

I am going to buy another unit...NOT because I am unhappy with this one in any way. I LOVE IT!

But the next step up for LESS maintenance appears to be a bottom feeder. Just pop a bottle of juice in the unit, have your 8 hour battery ready and vape all day.......no carto filling needed!

Hey...I'm getting old...I need all the help in the "easy" route I can get!
Your doing great with learning and listening.
Happy Vaping

HzG8rGrl,

Wow! Thank you so much for all the info you gave me & for answering every single question that I had. Your You Tube video was great and I have to say...I was amazed at the the amount of vapor that you got on each & every puff/drag that you took! (that amount of vapor is due to a good e-liquid and dripping-you saw me drip 3 drops directly into the mesh of the atomizer)I have never had that amount of vapor...not even when I thought I was getting good drags. If I can find a unit that gives the vapor that you had in your video I'll be a very happy camper! :D
I really loved your tip about buying the Aquarium Filter from a pet store to use in the carts.

In your video you said the product you were using was a 650 eGo kit from Puresmoke. I did a search & found puresmoke.com - is that their site address? Because if it is ...it doesn't mention a 650 eGo anywhere in the site...and I looked through the entire site. It doesn't mention the mah number or the name of the battery at all. Could I possibly be in the wrong website? puresmoker.com-I am sure you can find them elsewhere and perhaps cheaper, I did get my during a great sale. It is my understanding the Riva is just as good, although I have never used a Riva.

Another poster here in this thread who smoked Kools for 40 years (I also smoked Kools for quite a long time) recommended Joye eGo...do you know if that is similar to the 650 eGo that you mentioned? You will find as you shop around that the Ego will come as a standard 650mAh battery set and then you can purchase and extra battery at higher mAh's. If you are lucky you might find a set with 900mAh batteries. I have not found one yet, just the extra batteries.

I don't think the "drip" method is for me...but I do think that I'll like the "cartomizers" because if the cart & the atty are both in one piece there is no need to worry about the atomizer going dead since a new atty is being used every time the cart is changed. Right? You said that there is "no changing out the filler & can be refilled"...does "no changing out filler" mean that there is no need to buy that Aquarium Filter material? I know you said that the regular carts can be cleaned & re-used until they no longer hold their shape...how long can the "cartomizers" be re-used"? If you take them off & clean them then the filler material will be needed, right?
Cartomizers-The coil in the cartomizers will burn out. As far as I know you do not change the filler-some have tried and haven't been completely successful. Just as the atomizer-they all burn out-it's just When will they-As for refilling, yes you will drip the liquid into the filler of the cartomizer (carto) by removing the top white cap and the rubber ring and drip the e-liquid down the side of the cart and into the filler. You will rotate the cartomizer while filling to get even distribution of e-liquid.LOL
ATOMIZERS-You will not change the atomizer when you change the cart, unless it has burned out and is no longer working. The aquarium filler (fluval) is to fill the cartridge that goes on the atomizer.

Thanks again
Debbie

When you push the button-you still have to draw in the vapor. You will take a lengthy, yet slow inhale. Around 4-6 seconds.

If you look at the top of this page ,on the left-you will see where it says forum. Click there and scroll down to the listed vendors. You'll see links to their sites. Shop around a bit before hitting that purchase button. You can also purchase a bit of filler from the vendor that you get your pv from. Be sure to get an extra 2 5ml or 1 10ml of e-liquid!!!!!
If you go the atomizer route get a couple extra of those also.

The number 510 represents the size of the threads used to connect the atties/cartomizers to the battery. It does not affect the amount of vapor produced. What I like about 510's is that it is a pretty standard size so there are lots of options available which allows you to experiment with different types of cartomizers, etc.

Joye makes both a 510 version and the eGo. The main difference between the two is the size of the battery. Since the eGo has a larger battery it will last for hours between charges. I ordered both versions in the beginning since I was rather put off by the size of the eGo. Like most beginners, I was looking for something that was similar in size to a regular cigarette. The eGo is more the size of a cigar. The good thing is the parts are interchangeable since they are both 510's. After using both for a while, I decided the eGo was better for me. It is not really too bulky and the convenience it offers can't be beaten.

I haven't personally used the ProVape (Provari) brand, but I've heard good things about them. Another brand you might consider is the Riva which is pretty much the same thing as the eGo but can sometimes be found more cheaply.
