Hello all!

I'm posting here in accordance with forum rules for new guys like me, so here's a short history of me and ecigs.

26yrs old. Smoked analogs since I was 19. My last analog was on... actually, it's been so long I forgot. I had to check reddit.com/r/stopsmoking flair to know for sure. It's been 397 days since my last analog cigarette. ECigs had a major role in helping me kick tobacco, and I haven't looked back since!

I started out using cigarette-style 808 batteries from V2, and then when I outgrew those, I bought some nicer 808's from V4L with tank cartos. This past week, I finally got tired of the mediocre vapor production and inconsistent flavor, leaky tanks, etc. and bought a couple eGo Twists, a 650 and a 900, with mini vivi nova heads. I will say I'm satisfied so far with the improved vapor production, and quality of flavor, although I do find it's less consistent in terms of flavor than I was getting with the tankomizers. I'm only on my second fill on each of the mini vivi's I got, and I understand it takes a bit of use to break them in, so I'm being patient.

I'm looking forward to being a part of the community here, and offering any knowledge/experience I've gained over the year I've enjoyed the hobby with others!

Thanks, Chrissie! I'm proud of myself. In a tangentially related topic, I've also, since quitting analogs, managed to lose 40 lbs (~18kg). So, I feel incredible, with lungs full of air, and a smile on my face! I've turned a handful of my friends onto ecigs as well, and they've also managed to kick the analog habit, but I'm still by and large a minority in my local population, so it's really great to have a place I can come and talk shop with others who don't roll their eyes like my fiance!

And so you should be very proud of yourself indeed Wildcard

Hopefully, due to you also helping your friends convert to e-cigs, they will also spread the message & it wont be long before you are no longer in the minority :)

I certainly am, Chrissie! We're slowly getting the word out there, my fiance's dad, a 40 yr 2 pack/day smoker has cut down to just 3-4 analogs a day, since we got him a couple ecigs for Christmas! another friend of mine kicked his 35 year 2 pack/day habit! Feels good man!

I look forward to uniting with the local community for things like meet-ups and B&M store locations

The first few days were tough, even though I was resolved to quit analogs. My unsolicited advice is to simply focus on not smoking today. Make it through today without an analog. Then do the same thing tomorrow. Chew gum instead of snacking. Your body is trying to replace that oral fixation with another. I used my ecig for about 2 months in conjunction with analogs, because it didn't outright replace the satisfaction I got from smoking. It took that much time to get used to the different sensation, and slower nic delivery method (IIRC, nic in vapor is absorbed more slowly into the body than in analogs, if I'm completely wrong, someone please correct me!) I would use mine, at first, as a means to get nic without having to stop what I was doing at the time, I.E. gaming, sketching, watching TV, etc. Over time, however, I found that my ecig tasted so much better, I was preferring it to the analogs. I would still go outside at first, to take "smoke breaks" and just hit my e-cig. In fact, I still do this, since a large number of my friends still smoke analogs with some frequency. Some analog smoke bothers me to no end. Most does not.

STAY STRONG!

Thanks for all that great advice - seems like you have been through all the things that I'm going through now - feels like the first step on a very long journey  But also so great to have finally ditched the analogues and am unjustifiably smug at the moment! Like you there was a time when i was vaping as well as smoking and it just got to the point where I was just using it as a way of getting more nicotine without having to go outside to light up. But now I've stopped smoking and my 510 is helping me through... don't think I could have got through it any other way. Now if i could just stop eating...
