New to Ecigs and e-cigarette-forum

Hello all,

So I found this forum and as far as I can tell it is the best one out there, so thanks. I recently bought my first ecig, it is a Joye 510, that I got from cignot.com (great customer service). As I have not owned one before I have nothing to compare it to other than regular cigarettes. Smoke production I would say is comparable to regular cigarettes depending on the e liquid. I have tried the eliquid that cignot.com sent me, the marl high and energy cow, also all the halo e juice. I will post a more in depth review of those at a later date. I would really like to hear some opinions of e liquids that are NOT made in China, I like my Chinese samples, but I am very skeptical of things I will be inhaling.
Alright looking forward to some recommendations, thanks all!

Welcome to the ECF Pyro! It sounds like you are off to a good start with the 510 and a good assortment of e-liquids. It is always hard to recommend new flavors since taste is such a subjective thing, but I can say that I have been having a lot of fun recently ordering custom mixtures from Vaporbomb.

Right now I am stuck on black perique(cigar)/green apple blend and a lime/coconut/pineapple blend that I custom ordered. There are many other suppliers that will do this for you. It's not really too expensive and it is really fun once you get a feel for what you like. You can start by mixing what you already have to see what goes well together.

Anyways, have fun, vape your head off and good luck!

Welcome and good call on your first purchase. Many will chime in with their favorites but as King stated it is subjective. For premade juice I have been partial to Backwoods Brew. Again a matter of personal preference. Now my favorites are my own juices which I make right here in the old man cave. Just whipped up some Chocolate covered Strawberries. I know not very manly but damn does it taste good! Happy vaping

Hey thanks for the warm welcome King Calculon. Have you ever had issues with harshness when mixing PG or VG? I mixed once and got some weird harshness, but that may have been when I was still breaking in the atomizer. What's your experience?

Wow so I am not the only one...I had the same thing happen with a new atty...got a funny harsh almost metalic taste out of it for a bit until I washed it down, the pg was also really high in that mix so I couldn't decide where the taste was coming from either, I uped the vg and washed the atty out and it rocked on. as for juice I like em super sweet and not tasing like tobacco at all ( decided if I was gonna quit I better get rid of the tobacco taste too) My absolute fave is mixed here at home Cinn Red hots and a slight bit of wintergreen makes an awsome CinnaMint. Welcome and happy vaping :vapor:

To get the primer out of an atomizer, you will want to blow through the non-threaded end of the atomizer into a paper towel until no more fluid comes out. Some people will also soak a new atomizer in isopropyl or pure grain alcohol and then let it dry out completely. Before vaping, drip 3-4 drops of fresh e-liquid on to the atomizer bridge before use.

When I first started I thought I would love the cinnamon, red-hot flavors as well as the coffee and chocolate flavors as I love all of them, however, once I received some I found out that I didn't like to vape them very much. I was a menthol analog smoker and I have settled in with menthols, mints, and fruits, as well as bubble gum! A lot of people are surprised that they think they know what they will like but actually don't like once they try it, and vice versa. Be patient and try all kinds of samples till you reach your "sweet" spot. We've all been there and done that! Some highly-rated juice vendors are FSUSA, Backwood's Brew, and VaporBomb. I like Halo Menthols myself. Like the previous poster said - taste is very subjective from one person to the next.

Congrats on your new journey and enjoy!

This is really a fun and enjoyable hobby and ECF rocks! Tons of info and great people here! :)

I will agree..alot of people differ on the kids of fluids they like. My hubby was a heavy menthol smoker and I was a light reg smoker myself, he tends to aim towards the cooler stuff and the richer flavors ( like waffles and coffee) where I tend to go after the lighter flavors fruity stuff and some creams...it is all subjective. But I have noticed that both him and myself went for tastes that we likes in foods and it worked out pretty well.

There's a lot of good sampler packs out there. Believe me, my medicine cabinet is full of 3-5ml samplers. One of my favorite samplers is the Johnson Creek Red Oak line. It has a lot of different flavors including a couple of tobaccos, fruit, clove, as well as a mint (menthol) and a couple others. I think it gives you a good idea of the different options out there. It was one of my first sampler packs and my favorite flavor Tennessee Cured (pipe tobacco-ish) is in there too. :)

Welcome to ECF and congrats on making an informed decision and getting a good e-cig from a great company. My advice is to order several different juices in 3 or 5 ml sizes from a few companies. Many good ones have been suggested already so I won't go over them again, but be adventurous you never know what will hit the mark. When you have found some that you love order some more of them in larger sizes. Don't get rid of the ones you don't care for though because your tastes may change when your tastebuds recover from smoking and also some you may want to let sit for a week or two and try again because a lot of companies make your juice after you order it and they need to steep like tea before they get their full flavor. If in a month or so and you still don't like something you can always trade it in the PIF forum or send it off to someone in need of juice that is short on cash. Enjoy your new hobby and this wonderful forum, lots of good information and tons of great people. Happy vaping!!

Welcome to ECF and vaping!

Regarding what flavor to try / buy, depends on what you feel like and what day it is....

My flavors tried so far: Cuban Cigar, Slo Cure, Alabama Sweet, Marly, Kamel, Tennessee Cure, Menthol,
Rum, Root Beer, Coffee, Black Coffee, Anise, Licorice, Spearmint, Cinnamon, Cinnamon Buns,
Wyatt Earp, Cream Soda, Dubble-Mint, Pink Champange, Peanut Butter, Wintergreen
Key Lime Freeze, Cinnamon Stick, Waiting for American Spirit, Almond, Brandy, Carmel, Ginger,
and my least favorite "pre-filled cart"

Analogs never had so many decisions, and the change is wonderful.

Hey Samsmom,

Do you know if any of those e liquid brands you mentioned are made in China, I'm really skeptical of stuff made in China that will go in my lungs. Also yeah I tried Halo, but I was Really unimpressed, the menthols are really subtle, and the "tobacco" flavors taste like a European man's cologne, literally unvapeable. I'm thinking something in the chocolate or orange areas of the spectrum.

I haven't ordered from Halo, but the website says the juices are freshly made. If that's true, they have to be steeped...need to be "aged" at least a week for the flavors to mature. Backwoods Brew juices, as mentioned previously, are really good. FreedomSmoke USA, get a hold of a sample of Wyatt Earp, it is a very intriguing flavor. There are a lot of really good US vendors using FDA approved ingredients, the more time you can spend on here the more knowledge you'll absorb. Good luck & welcome to the forum!
