hello all, i've had an interesting read around the forum and thought i'd post to say hello.

if you'd like to know my story, here it is and i'll try to keep it brief. i'm 28 and have smoked filterless rollups for 6 or so years, and standard filtered cigs for about 6 years before that. i smoke about 10-15 per day usually. just recently i started to feel guilty about the damage i was doing to myself, and decided (after a prompting from my brother who already made the switch) to try ecigs.

my first pack of cheap ($9 with 6 carts and a box) ecigs arrived on tuesday just gone and i havent smoked a real cig since. i've not even had the temptation to, unless my battery was flat and i couldn't vape.

i just ordered a joye 501 from the same site ($30) which should arrive in a couple of weeks.

i really see this as a turning point in my life, i already feel much better mentally for making the switch and the physical difference should come with time i guess.

my only concerns are that we dont know how bad this eliquid stuff is, though i would guess at it's worst it's still better than tobacco smoke.

i'm still on the lookout for good ecigs to try, since i really want a cig with a huge amount of vapour and a good hit on throat, and a decent battery life. ideally i don't want to pay a silly amount since the $9 pack i bought first does the trick pretty much fine (except the battery only lasts a day, and i could do with more vapour).

any recommendations for uk shops and decent models that dont cost an arm and a leg would be very much appreciated.

thanks for the forum, i'll be sure to keep reading as i'm sure there is a lot to learn.

cheers

Well done for switching Mommoth! :)

There are plenty of great UK vendors offering allsorts of kit that will satisfy your vaping desires.

Apparantly, low resistance 510 atomisers provide masses of vapour and a strong throat hit, BUT there are a myriad of other options.

The batteries seem to be the 'failing' on normal e-cigs, as they do not last very long on one charge.

The best 'almost' cig-like battery option is a eGo, Riva, Tornado. If you google them, you will see what I mean (they are the same thing btw!).

I hope this helps a bit.

thanks for the kind words people. i'll try out my joye and see how it goes, though i think a 180mah battery is gona be kind of too low. in which case i'll give the riva or ego a try instead.

for anyone wondering whether or not to try these things, i would definitely recommend getting the $9 box from dealextreme (free shipping too)... there is not much to lose there and the cigarette is actually pretty good. it's seen me through 4 days anyway :)
