Hi all

I picked up a Krave about 3 months ago took a hit off of it and threw it on my desk, went right back to good old VS...my go to smoke for 37 years now with an attempt at quitting every 5 years or so. Never lasting more than a few days at most. I have tried every other form of nicotine out there and I would just get pissy. 13 days ago I decided I was done. Picked up the Krave and that was it.

Made the mistake of going to the site and ordering a starter kit which I got yesterday and I really do not like it :( it smells like tobacco. I HATE the smell of tobacco! Right a 37 year smoker who hates the smell...

I have been reading tons of posts and i have a question the disposable pack says 300 puffs...I started a cartridge on Monday morning and it got my last puff Friday night. I FELT like I had been hitting that a lot all week. I was a terrible smoker let me just say i would light a smoke and only smoke 1/2 of it i hate the way a refry tastes so no relighting tht nasty thing. the thing i have noticed the most for me is that sometimes i only want 2-3 hits then i put the Krave down and dont pick it up for another hour, apparently i was lighting a lot of cigs just for a hit or 3 but since I smoke outside i guess i figured why waste?? and i would hit 8-10 times then put it out.
my goal is to get to 0 nic but after 37 years i will be happy just being able to breathe again.
And oh my do things SMELL good that I didn't even know had a smell :)

Just wanted to say that it's awsome that you are 13 days in, I have been with my kit for about 3 weeks and today is my second day without an analog. I used to be a pack a day smoker since I got the kit it went down to 3-4 and so on until yesterday when I finnaly got rid of them. Good luck on your journey and keep it up. Everyone here is so helpfull so dont be afraid to ask anything.

Well what I meant to ask was do they flavored juices have a smell? I don't know if I can really explain the tobacco smell its not like an actual cig more like the whiff u get from a bag of pipe tobacco, and i don't want that smell on me or my hands so I am wondering if a flavored juice will leave a scent of some sort ( which I don't mind as long as its not tobacco lol)and do the sweet flavors leave a sweet taste in your mouth?

first off, congratulations! i'm on day 67 and it gets easier every day.

flavored juices do have a smell, and a sweet taste if they are supposed to be sweet... at least all the ones i have tried so far. the cool thing about it though, is that the smell doesn't linger and it doesn't get into your clothes or on your hands (unless maybe, if you spill some juice on yourself) :)

Some juices will leave an aroma when you vape, but not so much beforehand. Other juices have aroma before & after.

Congrats on 13 days! I remember counting days, then it became weeks, and now I'm counting months. I hit 6 months without a cigarette in a few days. And I "smell things" that I forgot even had smells after 25+ years of smoking (w/ occasional attempts to quit).

With the right gear & juice, I haven't had a "cigarette" craving... have had nic cravings, but not for a stinkie. :D

Congrats. You will come to find that this is not an inexpensive endeavor, but a lot less expensive than real smokes. The 'Mall' types of smokes are not going to get you to where you want to be. Poke around here a bit, and as overwhelming as it may seem, you can easily learn the right way to do it from the veterans. It's really not very hard to get a grasp of it, and you will be amazed at how pleasurable vaping can be. I'm on month 4 now after 34 years of the stinky crap. It really does work, give it a chance. You will be thrilled that you did it.

I can't imagine going back to reg smokes, the vaping is working just great. I just don't understand all the strengths of nicotine, types of gadgets used and all of that :( and the more I read yesterday the more confused I got. I think I am going to get a Volt kit and try a couple of flavors. I know my Virginia slims where 1.1 nicotine per cig and i have 2 diff krave carts 1 pack saya 1.0% nic (5 pk) and the other says 14 nic (10 pk) can some one explain to me why the huge diff and how much nicotine i am getting? The 1.0 seem to work fine.
I picked up a 21st Century kit at rite aid because it took over a week for the Krave kit to get here and i didnt want to buy reg smokes. The 21st kit says 1.6% by volume on it and of the 3 i like the 1.6 but when I look up other kits and juices the say anything fron 6-36.... Soooo confused... Help please :) and thank you!!

Here is a thread that gives a quick idea of what the nicotine levels mean. I'm sure there are others in this forum, but it should give you an idea.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/110630-e-liquid-nicotine-levels.html

If 1.0% works for you, just stick with it for now. You can always adjust later. So, in short, the percentage thing is basically equal to 1mg x 10 per volume. So 1.0% would be 10mg per amount of e-liquid. Does that make sense? Took me a few weeks to understand exactly what that meant. :2cool:

Edited to add: Dangit, yet again I respond to the first post w/o reading the rest of the thread. But this I'm I'm just going to leave it here. And really, I may have totally misinterpreted what he was asking in the first thread.

What flavors do they make?

What flavors do they not make:
I've been looking here today (due to the customer creations) Juicy Vapor, LLC
I've ordered from Blue Mist (which is blocked from work where I'm at)
And I've ordered liquid and hardware from MadVapes.com.

Each has way, way too many flavors. Waaaaaay.

There's always a thread about what people like best, what you'd want if you could only have one for the rest of your life, etc. The more funny threads are the ones about the worst you've ever tried.

Welcome. Though I can't see how you don't like the smell of cigarettes. Heck, I sometimes think an ashtray smells good. (sad but true)

Hahaha I do that too, man.

Yep, the hardware thing, albeit very confusing, is really the easier part. The e-liquid thing, however, is probably the more difficult part of this whole process. Everybody and their brother has 'the greatest flavors'. Taste really is subjective. Google is your friend where that is concerned for reviews. My faves are Alien Vision, epipemods.com, and some e-juice I put together myself. Good stuff.

Thanks Wishdog :) I know people have asked me over and over how I could smoke for 37 years and hate the smell and taste of it. Got me, but I am sure the heroine addict doesn't really "like" the needle part just the rush. I'm not sure what it is about these KRAVE cartridges they jut really have an off putting tobacco smell while the one piece disposable they make does not have that same odor.
Oh well I am sure after i fumble through these pots for a week or so I will come up with some ideas of brands and flavors that might work best for me. Like most got do it now "quitters" I grabbed the closest thing available at the time.

Hi Teacup, nice to meet you, I'm new here too but just Had my 1 year anniversary of quitting analogs & starting my vaping journey. It seems overwhelming at first but you'll catch on soon, just be patient with yourself.

HI Calikimm!
Thanks for the welcome. Can't wait to hit 1 year, CONGRATS to you! My kids are soooo thrilled I have finally found something besides cancer sticks to lean on. Its nice to have their support and I am hoping along the way I can get 2 of my boys who smoke to vape instead. They are young (20's) so now is a great time for them to stop.

congrats and welcome Teacup36! On your exciting journey you might get tempted to try this and that and spend willy-nilly but it need not go that route. I can tell you that if theres any nic in your juice you probably will smell "tobacco" since I do/can but its not bad at all. I bought my first kit in Oct. 2010 after advice from the members here and the ego's are still working today, only lasting about 4 hours now <the poor things > but no complaints here!
For juices according to the scale you showed earlier anything in the 06 to 14mg/ml of nic will suit you well and a slow perusal of juice vendors is highly recommended... too many are awesome and its like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet after a hard day's work, lol

Thanks so much Asti! I am trying to really read and research before I jump on the buying wagon ( I am a bit of a compulsive buyer and really would just like to find a system that works for me with a few flavors) I just read some thread on carrying cases and people were talking about using tackle boxes LOL OMG I hope i do not get that addicted to vaping but it almost sounds like once you find the right units and zillions of flavors it could be quite the hobby :)
