New to forum and vaping - Nicotine content consistency?

So, I switched to vaping as a smoking alternative and have been off cigarettes for about a week thus far. Couple of quick questions for you all but first a little basic info on what I'm using.

The tank I bought is a "KangerTech Mini-ProTank K-II" and the battery portion is an "iTaste vv". I've been using 24mg liquids and so far have been doing "Ok" with regards to cravings.

My main question here is for recommendations on consistency among juice manufacturers. Knowing nothing about them I bought a few different flavors from a couple of different manufacturers from the shop where I got the setup. All were 24mg and yet some of them (and I get this is totally a subjective feeling) seem much more potent than others in terms of craving reduction, even among the same 'brand'.

Is there any regulation around Juices that insures a bottle marked 24mg actually contains that amount for instance? Anyone else run into this and/or have a recommended brand where I can be reasonably sure of getting a consistent level of nicotine?

Have been and will continue to read through the forums and may find some of this info there, but any advice is appreciated! Thanks all!

I agree with falkor (cause who couldn't agree with someone with the name falkor?), shake them.

Hello other person from KC! Honestly, from what I've dealt with, is the insonsistency is going to be in your protank atomizers. Not the juice itself. I went from 18mg, wondering why sometimes it's sufficient to other times being satisfied, to 6mg in a kayfun lite plus (kayfun 3.1 from fasttech seems better than my locally bought lite plus) and the 6mg is plenty AND satisfies me AND is consistent AND has amazing flavor. Most of the B&M around here will build you a coil if you're uncomfortable with doing that, for about $5 and my last coil lasted me 2 months. Only down side is I have to take it apart and put a new wick in once every 2-3 days (depending on the darkness of the juice). The B&M will show you how to wick it and anything else you need too. Heck, watch the youtube videos on wicking them (which gave me better advice than I got from where I bought my kayfun lite plus.

Thanks to you both. Never considered shaking them, though it seems pretty obvious in retrospect! lol I'll definitely give that a try.

Thanks Nate... being a total noob to this stuff I pretty much took the shop guys advice on building my starter piece. As I learn more from reading I'm sure I'll start upgrading to better quality stuff. :)

Hi BDietz, and welcome! Glad you could join us.
I tried to respond to this a couple of hours ago, but the wind and cold must have munched my internet connection somewhere up the road before I could post.

The 'craving reduction' you're looking for is likely about more than just the nicotine content of the juice. It's a combination of things including throat hit, amount of vapor, the actual flavor, and the inhalation technique, just to name a few. It can take a good bit of experimentation to find the whole groove that satisfies those cravings.
The gear setup you have is good stuff and should work for you once you find a juice mix to go with it that you can really depend on.

To your main question, a bottle marked as 24mg nic is going to be very close to that unless it has somehow been mislabeled, and a difference of 1 or 2 mg either way is going to be unnoticeable in the real world. The guys who do the mixing are pretty careful with their company's recipes.

Hope you find your satisfying vape soon. Best of luck to you.

Of course it all depends on who is mixing the juice. The crap sold at the convenience stores for example, is very suspect as far as actual nicotine content. Juice bought at a reputable B&M should always be bought made to order in my opinion. Online orders can only be judged initially by reputation. But keep in mind that everybody's taste/threshold/preferences are different. What I might call an exquisite juice may be utter crap to you.

Once you've got a little experience under your belt and you are able to tell the difference between good and terrible juice; look in to DIY your own juice. I started earlier this year and its made a world of difference. I control my nic, throat hit, vapor and flavor now. And I do so at a fraction of the cost of purchasing retail bottles of juice. :)
