Hello all,

I was introduced to e-cigs while smoking an analog outside a bar in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. I noticed someone using an ecig and being curious I asked about it. I've been smoking for 30 years and I've tried many times to quit, but never had any success. This guy quit smoking altogether in the span of a few days after starting to use his V2.

Fast forward one week...when I got home from Nashville I promptly ordered over $120 worth of starter kit and carts from V2. I did this without doing any research whatsoever and I am now regretting this decision. I say this because I picked up a small gas station kit and the short battery life is already getting annoying. I feel like I've been cramming for a mid-term while doing the research I should have done before shelling out my money for a product I'm likely to find unsatisfying within a very short period of time.

So, my wife, being the kind soul she is and fully supporting my desire to kick the analog habit, is ok with spending some additional cash now if it keeps me from giving up on the ecig switchover.

Sorry for all the preamble, getting to the point. I've pretty much decided on ego-c twist 650 with the CE4 Plus 2.2 - 2.4 ohm clearomizers. The ego twist batteries seem to get a lot of praise on these forums, but I was hoping you guys could kind of give me a thumbs up or down on this clearomizer and what I could expect with such a setup. Being brand new I have no idea how long these clearomizers should last me, being a pack and half a day smoker. Is this kind of setup something that a newbie can be satisfied with for a good, long while?

Sorry for such a long first post, but thanks in advance for any input you guys can provide.

I have only been vaping a few months, but I have tried 5-6 different clearomizer types and they just don't seem to last very long. Part of the reason I quit analogs was to save some cash (and to save my health obviously), but clearomizers just don't seem very cost effective to me.

The ones that have lasted the longest for me so far are Phoenix from GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more. The downside is they are a bit of a hassle to fill, and I have had to clean them several times. I am on day 25 with one of them and it still works well with the cheezy batteries that I have.

What hardware do you currently have? I only ask because I bought a starter ecig kit with a lesser used thread type and they make a phoenix clearomizer that fit what I already had.

Oh yeah and WELCOME :)

I have a v2 kit, it has it's place. I liked my ego and I think that is a nice step up. I would go with a 900 MaH battery or more just to give you a little extra vape time. I don't have much experience with clearos, and seem to use allot of LR Boge cartos and SmoleTech cartos with a tank system. My Provari is my favorite device and then I keep like 5 different tanks filled and rotate. Think of this as an adventure, it does take some time to dial in a system that works best for you. I don't think I have helped much, but trust me when I say have fun with it and soon you will be set.

Thanks for the info and the welcome. The V2 ecig kit I ordered a week ago hasn't arrived yet, however the thread is a KR808D-1 on those. I am with you on the savings part of the equation. The health benefits are the primary reason I want to switch to vaping, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't at least like to break even cost-wise.

Welcome to the forum! It's never bad to have a backup, or a mini for stealth vaping. You can even loan it to someone that wants to try vaping.

Even if your first pv was a great one (not saying yours is bad, I've never tried it), very few people just have one pv. Welcome to the collectors club!

Don't be discouraged I also jumped in without doing the research and spent a .... load of $$. That was 2 years ago. But once I found my fit, it was eGo and went with that it started working for me. I still was experimenting with attys, cleros, cartos and all that. next was finding a juice that I could like. I was able to quit analogs after about 2 months October it will be 2 years since I had an analog. I was a one and a half to two pack a day smoker and had been smoking for 50 years. I tried every thing from patches, gum, pills, Acupuncture and hypnotism. Nothing worked except e-cigs, I am down to 3mg of nicotine in my juice and am feeling great. I think you have made a good choice with the eGo twist I don't own one but have read a lot of good comments on it. I like VV that is all I use. I tried clearomizers but moved on to cartos and tanks. I have 2 Vision Vivi Nova tanks coming in the mail and hope that they are everything that people say about them. I can tell you that life on the clearomizers will depend on how much you vape. Some people get weeks out of them and some only get days. I will take you some time to figure out just what is your fit but it will be worth it. Keep comming back here to ECF for tips and advise Everyone is really great and supportive here and above all don't give up ecigs do work.

I have the Provari, Provari mini, Silver Bullet, vmax, and many egos. My favorite are the egos, and my newest one is the twist. I like the clearomizers that fit on the batteries. They look nice, and I like the harder longer draw. I have not been vaping very long, but I really don't care for the bigger mods much. I like the small portable, cheaper ones that are lighter and look better. I will probably keep my Provari mini, but kinda done with the others. I don't regret the money I spent on getting started because I have found what works for me. I really think the juice is very important, maybe more so than what is heating it up. I liked the heavy throat hit in the begining, and now I don't. I like the light and fruity, much like a piece of gum. I like to take the small batteries with me, and have a few different flavors to switch off during the day at work. I have found that I like 6mg of nicotine the best, and I started off at 16.

Funny story. While reading the replies on this thread my son calls because he has run out of gas. I go to pick him up and he notices me vaping. I learn that he has a Volcano Inferno that he hasn't been using. Guess I'll get to try one of those out as well.

You lucky man!

I just started too and did some research. The one thing I have learned in my short life is that Google can and will lead to countless sleepless nights. The only thing I regret was not immediately getting something to replace the tank + atty but in a day or two that should be fixed.

Give the clearos a shot. I use them with my Volt X2s (basically an ego with an 808 thread). You can get 808 threaded stuff for your V2 from Smokeless Image if you're not happy with those cartos with your v2s. You're new to this. Get your stuff in, try it out, see what you like. You'll spend some money the first month or so dialing in what your preferences are. After than it's just juice and cartos or clearos or ce2s or whatever you decide you like.

Starting out can be frustrating.

I think a lot of us have picked up some of the small battery/one time use ecigs and defaulted back to analog.

I just about gave up on the ecigs until a buddy of mine told me I have to go spend some cash on good equipment before I leave my health behind.

I grabbed an eGo C and I also have a Volcano Inferno set.. those made me change my mind and now just a month later I dropped more money on a Cylon VV Tube... never going back to anything less... although I do take my eGos with me when I want something smaller.

As far as clearos, I have not really used them... I have had great success with J-Tanks and Tube Tanks. If you are going with an eGo T grab a standard or high resistance carto.. so you can take some more advantage of that variable voltage.

Good luck on your quest, it will take some time and money to find out what fits you best. Heck, I just barely started trying all sorts of different resistance carts, direct drip atmoizers and (I was already very content with standard 3.7v... wow I woke up after messing around with these options) varying voltages!

Congrats on trying vaping to quit smoking. I almost did the same thing. I was going to go with the green smokes. Luckily I searched out some reviews for them and came across ECF. I started out with two ego c twist 1000’s and boge cartomizers. There great and last all day, I still carry them with me everywhere. I have since started using tanks, the dct tanks work great and are cheap. I got a cartomizer punch and use the boge cartos in the tanks. I love vaping so much that I’ve kind of lost control with my spending. I’ve bought a Provari and a RSM wooden bottom feeder, also got a couple Phiniac glass tanks, love them all. For portability the Egos are great and can be had for under 30 bucks. Good luck, I hope you find what works for you.

Welcome MoGo,

I think you'll be very happy with the Inferno in comparison to what you've been using. I just started vaping about 2 months ago after 25 yrs of 2 packs a day and I haven't touched an analog since the day I started with my Inferno (tomorrow is actually 8 weeks for me). I've dripped using a low res atomizer predominantly but I did buy a pack of the clearos from Volcano and have used them. I hate cartomizers because the flavor is so muted compared to dripping but the clearos work pretty well for me - I can fill one up in the morning and it'll last me pretty much all day until I get in from work.

It does take a little time and money in the beginning to find the setup that works best for you but it's worth it if it stops you from smoking.

Good luck!
