Make sure you're happy with and enjoying your new ecigs, he'll probably get curious again, then.

Also, a too high nicotine level could make one ill. Before my first kit came, I hit walgreens for a disposable Blu - it was 24mg and not marked. I took 3 hits off it and got a bit woozy and ill, the nicotine at 24mg was too much for me. Flavor wasn't that great either, but it kept me off cigarettes until my kit came.

And, it's ok to be picky. The Volt is my nirvana for ecigs. It might not be for you. Just don't give up on getting what is right for you, should that be the case. I'm a "Voltie," but there are other good products out there, too.

Hello, Moon! (I always wanted to say that!) So glad a fellow artist is ditching analogs! I smoked my last one 09/11/11.
This forum is stuffed to the gills with great people who will gladly offer any assistance or advice you may need to get where you want to go; full quit, analog quit, or even just cutting down.
I'll chime in with my own two cents: don't expect the love affair with your first kit to last very long. My first was an analog sized kit and it was wonderful, but after a week, I wanted more. It was fantastic, but I got fed up swapping batteries all the time. Within a month I had switched to an ego clone. That partnership lasted until recently when I began looking for a big battery mod!
Run a tab side by side; what you would have spent to date on tobacco versus what you spend on vaping. Forgive yourself if you don't order perfectly every time. Remember you can sell used equipment here as you play until you find your match!
The best system for you is the one you use enough to forget tobacco. The best flavors are the ones that make you wonder how you stayed with "burning leaf" flavor all this time. You're going to have to experiment!
The best way to get a partner to join in? By finding what makes you happy and letting others see your joy!
Good night & good luck!

Also.... if you post a pic of you with your Volt in the Faces of Volt thread on the Smokeless Image board, you get a freebie.

I prefer auto batteries in my 78mms, they're sealed autos so you're not going to break them very easily with juice, unless you drip directly into the battery which would just be stupid. I also have X2s and prefer those in manual. For what you smoke, you're probably just fine with the 78mms, but if battery charging all the time starts to become an issue, consider the X2 with clearomizers as an alternative.

Welcome to the journey that finding the perfect vape becomes!

My beau's got a ridiculous nicotine tolerance, he's just got an overly sensetive stomach from years of medications. I've got overly sensetive to basically everything for different health reasons but I'm definitely used to high levels of nicotine as well so I got 24mg of it in all the carts and e-juice that I ordered.

I haven't lurked about the forums around here much (besides reviews and my current location) so thanks oodles for that link! I'll see if one of my photographer buddies wants to do a shoot.... Specifically one I can make dumb faces in. Because, lets face it, I gotta be as pro as possible for a freebie. Hahaha c:

I would say that it all depends with the one making him sick. Some people have alergies to certain flavors from certain company's. Some people can't stand the propalyne glycol some can't stand the vegetable glycerin. Ya just have to look around and find something that works for come its easier than others. But I am sure he can find something good for him. Vape dudes is a good one to look at they pride themselves on quality flavorings and have a lot of options for PG VG ratio. As well as they have a natural line. It could also have been a bad or dry carto that was burning the filler which will make ya really sick. Thats why i like clearos but i use all 510 thread because its the most standard so i dont know if they make 808 clearos or if you'll need an 808 ta 510 adapter to use more options in the way of gear. As 510 is the most common thread across the board.

I know Smokeless Image has clearos doobilidoos on their site so 808-compatible ones definitely exist. If anything, it'd just be the hardest to get him to want to try it in the first place because he's already had a bad experience....
Anyway, I know I won't be able to get my kit and things until Friday as I'm away so I've been thinking about trying a disposable or something so I can at least have some experience with e-cigs. Definitely ASAP. Because yes.

I haven't used Smokeless Image, but if you don't end up loving the taste I'd definitely recommend ordering some blank cartomizers and trying different brands of liquid before you get disappointed by the whole thing. There's an insane number of vendors, but I found this post with a tally of people's favorites which has been helpful.

I haven't tried a lot, but so far I like goodejuice. They have a lot to choose from and sell a line of home brewed liquids made from tobacco instead of artificial flavor.

Yeah, I bought a pack of blank cartos with my kit and blahbidibloops. I'll probably buy more soon as I have been easing into getting my boyfriend to try my Volt when I get it. So far he's open to it which may mean I now know what I'm getting him for Christmas in July! (Because yes, as an almost-19-year-old lady and a 21-year-old man, we celebrate that as a holiday. And also watch Spongebob. Maturity.)

I know I'll definitely try out various brands of liquid since some of the cartos (which I plan to refill) will be in flavors I might not like so much; variety packs, you see. I definitely understand the flavor thing. I mean... When I first started smoking, I started with non-menthol Newports. Which I really wasn't too fond of. Then I switched to Marlboro Reds (and, more recently, to just menthols and cigars) and stuck with ~analog smoking~ those for years. Definitely gonna be understanding and flexible with flavors. Savin' that link for future reference ;B

Awright, so, definitely got my hands on a disposable! I feel so classy. Can't say I like this brand's menthol but throat hits are lovely and I discovered walking while vaping doesn't suck as much as walking while smoking. Which I've always had problems with since my manperson always smokes when walkin' somewhere and I just feel weird when we're not smoking together. Bonding through addiction? I dunno.

BUT, I can now definitely say I made an excellent choice to switch to e-cigs and I can't wait to get home and try all the flavors I got! c:

Ahhhh the wonderful world of flavors! I liked Cappuccino, Vanilla, and Watermelon best from SI... stuck with those for a while. When I got bored, I ordered from several companies and noticed a chemically taste. YUCK. I got a flavor from Kick Bass Vapor, loved it... and I've been through a LOT of their flavors. I get bored with just a few to vape ya see. So, as I was getting bored, I decided to be wild and order root beer and mocha ice cream (seemed like a weird thought for e-juice). Yeah, I've vaped those bottles dry in a little over a week. They're my "go-to" favorites.

The moral of my little rant is.... try a little of everything. You have NOOOO idea what your "all day vape" is going to be. Your taste will change over the next few months, and some things you love as food or flavors, you won't like as much in a vape. Aside from watermelon... I don't think I've ever purchased fruit in a store.... I'll eat it if you cut it and put it in front of me, but won't seek it out. For some reason, those are some of my favorite vapes too. Go figure.

Yeah, I got the strong sampler (various menthols and grape for some reason... Strikes me as racist?), vanilla, and a bottle of SI's tobaccoy-menthol ejuice. Totally forget the name of that one but I am a lot more used to tobacco-flavored menthols (see the fact that I've been smoking this cheap brand--Timeless Time-- for a good year now and prior to that smoked only Marlboro menthols and reds). I definitely wanna get more fun flavors ASAP so I'm in the market for that and it sounds like Ryan/my man is all exited to try my Volt. If he doesn't get sick from it, I'm ordering him a kit, too, as a Christmas in July present c:

Also I'm a vegitarian (almost vegan since I'm lactose intolerant) so I get plenty of fruit flavor from what I eat and because of that, artificial fruity flavors usually make me vomit. Especially artificial cherry flavoring. My body's all weird and stuff. Haha.

Glad to see things are looking up.

There are several eliquid vendors that offer up 100% organic flavors, they'll be 100% VG, too, though (thicker liquids, lots of vapor but poor throat hit). I can't stand cherry flavoring either, for what it's worth. However, I have found other flavors that just taste good even if they aren't 100% perfect. I prefer a 70PV/30VG ratio, seems to work well for me. Flavors are a constant exploration, though. It will be an adventure to find your perfect flavor vape, to say the least.

Good hunting!

Yeah.... I'm not a fan of "fake fruit" either. One thing I found though was fruit drinks. I love peach sweet tea. AND... if you like menthol (or even if you don't apparently, I never smoked menthol), fruit with a hint of menthol is nice. I have a "cool watermelon" from Kick Bass Vapor that I love.

Edited: Cherry just sucks as far as I'm concerned. It all reminds me of cough syrup.

Thankya for the welcomes and to be quite honest, I probably won't even bother with organic juices unless I just absolutely cannot find a flavor I enjoy. (Which is doubtful, especially considering the fact that I've been vapin' on this disposable I got and originally didn't like the flavor too much, but now that I've spent more time with it, it's growing on me. Though I wouldn't buy another disposable just for this flavor.)

Annndd cause SI had a nice 4th o' July discount code, I caved (after much coaxing that he would be able to handle it and would let me know if he couldn't) and bought a kit for my lovehuman.... Plus more e-juice and an extra battery for me. c: I'm a sucker for a good price... If he ends up not being able to make the switch, I'll just take his kit as a back up.
