Hi everyone. I started vaping about 6 months ago. I've been doing some research and have been thinking about mechanical mods. I've read up on the safety and everything and was looking to start out with a Kamry k101 kit and purchase an I-go W. Im not looking into going into sub ohm quite yet but around the 1-1.5 ohm area. Any advice for doing this.
Sorry if this is in the wrong area please feel free to move it.
Thanks in advance.

Don't do the kits with the no name blue or any other color batteries. Unlabeled batteries are always bad, as you dont know what they are capable of handling or if they really are imr batteries.

I personally sourced my k100 mod alone and paired it with batteries of my choosing. I run mine with a trident clone 1ohm single coil build and love it, paired with the sony 18650 vtc4 they are 30 amp batteries and work awesome even if later you decide to go lower ohm's you will have a solid battery for that.

since its a telescoping mod here are the styles and avg limits for each type of battery, I say avg because different battery vendors will vary in the amp's the batteries can do. the smaller 18350 style batteries most are only good to about .8ohm, 18490/500's usually around .5ohm and 18650's the 30 amp rated ones are good to .2ohm. I dont condone going to the extreme builds and a nice micro coil 1.2 ohm hits just as nice with out loosing flavor as you would with a .5ohm imho.

I wasn't planning on using the batteries the kit came with. But the kit with everything is just cheap. Which brand batteries would you recommend?
