First post here...
3 weeks now in the world of vapin.
Austin TX.
Sys admin.. Actually total geek.

Started with a Blu and lost interest after a week. I have an Joye eGo on the way w/ extra carts and a juice sampler pack. Been reading up on making my own juices.

So done with the Blu I hit up a local shop earlier today and picked up a No. 7. The only thing I did like about the Blu was the menthol cart. I almost felt like I had to recharge the battery after every 15 puffs or so. I know that Johnson Creek made the juices for Blu and the local shop had the Johnson Creek Arctic Menthol so I grabbed a 15ml. I also stopped and grabbed a bag of poly fill to restuff the No. 7 carts. The prefilled carts that came with the No. 7 did not appeal to me at all. A few puffs and I was refilling with the Johnson Creek. Seems my No. 7 will be a good ole standby as I assume I will be toting around the Joye.

I feel as if not only am I on a solid track to retiring analogs but I also have a small fairly inexpensive hobby too. Something to also occupy my mind. :)

Any suggestions other than poly fill?

What exactly would I get if I wanted a "tank" kit for my eGo? Just the componets needed to try out the tank feed. Worries with leaks and such. Sounds like we just need some little baby rubber gaskets on the tanks. :vapor:

Good sites where I can file good deals on additional No. 7 carts? Maybe larger ones?

Thoughts on maintenance for the No.7 atomizer? Will a can of air really do the trick? How often? After 2-3 carts? I suppose I could break out a can of ODD while I am at it and give a couple of quick puffs each time I pull off the cart. :p

Ok.. enough for now. Have a good night peeps!
I did try using the search but not much luck really. I did try I promise. I have been reading a lot on vapin the past week or so.

To use tanks on Ego you need an Ego tank atomizer and Ego tanks. I believe there are two barrel sizes of tank atty and only the larger one can use botht he small and large tanks. The smaller barrel tank atty can only sue small tanks. And you need an appropriate syringe to add juice through the hole the tank atty poked in the tank. Try calling or emailing Liberty-Flights.com and ask them about the barrel sizes and what syringe to get, And I think tanks like juices w/ 20-30% VG

I like Boge 510 cartomizers on Riva 510 (an Ego clone). Ego can use the standard resistance (warm) or since the battery is bigger than 450mah they can also use the hotter power-hungry LR 2.0 ohms ones and the medium LR 2.5 ohm if you can find those. The LR ones use charge faster. I get longest good use out of Boges w/ thin clear juices - 20% or less VG juices that are light in color and leave no flavoring residue to clog the carto.

I fill well (18+ drops into the stuffing while hold a tissue against the threaded end hole). Then I clean it up including blowing into the threaded end with the open end pointed down into a tissue, then sopping up any loose juice above the stuffing). Then I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20min to get every bit of stuffing damp so I don't singe it. While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or dry or taste funny or the carto is getting unusually warm, I take the carto off the battery and add some juice and clean it up. I often use a plastic or delrin 510 drip tip as an easy to remove mouthpiece. And I only put juices I like in cartos. Few people succeed at cleaning and drying cartos. They are meant to be disposable. I can get 1-2 weeks use out of a Boge.

I'm pretty sure you need the tank version of the Ego. I'm pretty sure you can do a tank on a NoEgo. Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers are an option though. They hold a ton of juice, but replacing the polyfill isn't really an option that I'm aware. Madvapes carries these, and I "think" there is a cone style cartomizer that'll fit on a standard ego, but do ask first.

I believe your No. 7 uses a RN4081. Heaven-gifts.com has adapters to 901.

The poly fill...If you want to use carts you want to get rid of the white polyfil and replace with blue foam. It absorbs & wicks better than poly. You can order it online but some or most pet stores carry it for fish tank filters. It comes in a flat, spongy sheet. Here is a link to where you can get it online if you can't find it locally. Buy E-Cigarette Cartridge Batting / Filling Fluval - Blue Foam There's no pic of it but you get a flat piece around 6"x6" (est) for $1.00. I just bought 3 sheets + $1.85 for shipping. Doesn't it just piss you off when the shipping is more than your order? :(

BTW, welcome to the forum. You're gonna love it here. :)
