Just took a interest in vapor recently and started studying so much info out there its hard to find a good start. Found this forum and looking for advise.

I'm a pack a day smoker and looking for something a bit safer and easier on my lungs lol (been smoking since I was 13, 33 now).

Anyway I was thinking about grabbing the halo triton or the Joye egrip. I'm looking for something portable but works decent. Something I can carry with me. That won't break the bank to start.

Any advice or suggestions would be awesome.

Update- Some info pack a day of lights generally. Big thing for me I believe would be throat hit feeling and I enjoy having a CIG going through the "motions". Tried a cheapo gas station one years back and no throat feeling at all turned me off heh

The big question is when you smoke, do you inhale the smoke directly into your lungs, or do you inhale it into your mouth first, and then draw that into your lungs. Whichever of these two methods you use to inhale will determine which type of tank is best for you, and will also determine the nicotine level.

My recommendation would be to bypass the Halo Triton and the eGrip. I would seriously recommend the iStick 30. It is a very small form factor (smaller than the eGrip) and puts out 30 watts versus 20. It will provide you a greater room to grow. If you're fine with the form factor of the eGrip, then look at the iStick 50. Double the battery capacity of the iStick 30 (4400 mah versus 2200 mah) and 50 watts. With either the 30 or 50 you will also be able to venture into the world of subohming when you are up to it without needing to replace your mod. I have both the 50 and the 30 in my avatar pic.

With these mods, since it vapes so much better, you can go with a lower nicotine level. When I was using the Halo Triton, going from a pack a day, I was vaping 24 mg juice. With the iStick, I am vaping 6 mg.

As for a tank, if you are a mouth to lung vaper, I would suggest the Aspire Nautilus Mini (or the full size Nautilus). If you are a direct to lung vaper, I would suggest Kanger Subtank (there are three sizes, the Plus, the Mini, and the Nano). With the Subtank, you can use either a 1.2 ohm coil or a 0.5 ohm coil (subohm) and with the Mini and Plus, it also comes with a deck that you can build your own coils.

An iStick 30 and a Nautilus Mini will run you about $70-$75. Upgrading to the iStick 50 will run you about $10 more. And upgrading to the Subtank will run you about $10 more as well.

Lung hitting cigs .LoL. Nobody does that.

Yeah, that's what i thought also, before I started vaping. I didn't even realize anyone smoked that way, direct to lungs that is, but many people do smoke that way and don't even know how to do a mouth to lung hit. Strange world.

Jseah made some good suggestions. Truth is, we can't tell you what's best for you. What's best is that you dive in head first and see what you like.

I basically listed my setup.

At first I was a mouth to lung vaper. When I got the iStick I also got the Subtank and started using the 1.2 ohm coil. Absolutely hated it. The darn thing spit and gurgled on me, felt the vape was just way too warm and it was near impossible to do a mouth to lung inhale. Switched to the Nautilus and absolutely loved it. Then a week later I tried doing a direct to lung inhale on the Nautilus (opened up the air control all the way, left my lips loose around the drip tip so I was drawing in air from around the drip tip as well as from it). Once I got used to lung hits, now it just feels more natural to me. I started using the Subtank again and the experience is a night and day difference.

Vaping is the only thing that has ever helped me so I always feel like if it could work for me, it can pretty much work for anyone. I did both for a good while and just kept cutting back on cigarettes because I loved vaping. When I got down to one or two a day, my normal brand just started tasting nasty so I started vaping full time. Did not really mean to quit smoking but I not looked back once.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Always someone here that can help. :) All reliable information here but we are also one big o'l support group. Like a family also, so just make yourself at home.

So I'm thinking of going with istick 30w with nautilus mini. Been searching see a site called myvaperstore has it on sale is this a rep. Site? Also any recommendation on juice? Like what nic content should I try and I see like vg and pg content %.

Thanks for all the replies.

Try a 50/50 blend of pg and VG. Right now that's what I seem to like most. Too much VG is harder to wick in my tank and seems harder on my lungs. Good luck!
