Hi!

I've been a long-time pack+ a day smoker... I've had the green smoke for a while, but it never really stuck with me. I'd smoke it and then forget about it and just go back to smoking normal cigarettes.

I picked up a V2 at the gas station today, as well as ordered the Halo Triton and Halo G6... I figured that going full on and buying all the stuff right off the bat would help with the transition...

Any tips for making the switch a permanent one would be highly appreciated ^_^ Thank you!

My suggestions are to get your nicotine level figured out that will be the Number one thing. I would vape like you smoke meaning when you want a cigarette use your vapng device, use it till your satisfied like you would be after a smoke. If it doesn't seem to be doing the trick take the vapor into your mouth and leave it sit there count to 5 and then inhale it count 5 exhale this should help the nicotine absorb better You can also try deep lung hits those work for me when all else seems hopeless. Commit to quit Make up your mind to succeed set small goals like 2 days analog free then 3 then 4 and so on each goal you achieve you can feel proud of yourself for.

Hi Artemissive!
Congrats on trying to switch!

For me, it was all the flavors that kept me interested especially in the beginning. At first I thought I wanted to find a tobacco flavor the tasted just like my precious american spirts, but once I saw how much was out there...the quest of trying as many as possible took over. Now I'm primarily a bakery and fruit gal, with just one or two yummy tobaccos (that actually taste nothing like a cigarette).
Until I found my top flavors, I carried about 6-10 clearomizers with me at all times and was constantly switching out flavors. Tasted great, and kept me busy and not thinking about cigarettes.

Also just remember you take nicotine in differently vaping rather than smoking. It's important to stay in front of the cravings, not just wait till you really want to smoke before trying calm the craving with vape. Vape often. Drink lots of water. Enjoy. :)

The industry has moved to the 510/eGo interface.
The trouble with alot of those like greensmoke, v2 and halo is they use something else not compatible.

But they do help people get off the cigs.

So plan to shift to something like an mvp2 and miniprotank2v2 in a month or two.

I started out on cigalikes like so many. Didn't take me long to change to something that had better battery life and went with the ego style batteries. Loved them. Then went to mvp2. Absolutely loved that battery life. What I tell most of my friends that are interested in them to just go straight for the mvp2. So happy with it.

I was a pack and a half a day smoker and I started out with 18mg nic and that is still where I am. I keep 24mg and 36mg for "reserve nerve" juice but plan on staying at 18mg.

I commend you on trying again and hopefully you will find something that does it for you.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

Edyle, I have no idea what an mvp2 or miniprotank2v2 is... it all sounds so confusing >_< Haha

Emily, I ordered two of the halo juice sample packs, the gourmet and the the tobaccos... Any juice recommendations would be awesome though! :)

I'll definitely stick around on this forum. I'm really wanting to get into vaping as a hobby, because I think it's the only way that I'll be able to stay off cigarettes... I'm the type where I like to go all out when I get really into something, and I think getting excited/staying excited about vaping will be one of the major keys to success for me. It's awesome that there's such a large community around it! ^_^

First off, congrats. This is just my personal opinion. When I quit cigs I started with a basic Ego twist/Protank 3 setup. It helped for a while, considering I was vaping nic at 18. But I still craved a cigarette every now and then. Eventually I upgraded to an iTaste MVP 2.0 with a PT2 and it was better. But ever since I made the switch to a mech mod, I never touched another cigarette. They hit so much harder and the taste is pure. I was able to vape 18 nicotine no problem with the pro tanks, but I can't even go past 6 on a mod without coughing. I think you'll be alright with what you have for now, but if you ever want to go back to cigs because you aren't satisfied, don't. Upgrade to mechanical and if you want to spend the minimum, I would recommend a K100 with an IGO-W and Halo Cap. Should add up to around $80. Anyways, enjoy your smoke free lifestyle!

The MVP2 is a different type of battery device than you ordered - longer battery life, completely different shape. The protank is a different type of of tank to hold your juice.
It's all a matter a personal preference. Until you try them all, very tough to guess which you'd like best.

Same for juices...It's great to start off with a sample pack so you can try a variety. I was very surprised by what flavors I liked and what I didn't. If you have a physical store (B&M) near you with a tasting bar, I can't recommend enough that you give them a try. Most will let you sample as many flavors as you want, and again...try them all. More than once there was one that sounded gross, and I wasn't sure if I even wanted to try it, sure enough, that was the one I ended up buying.

If you're not a fan of your flavors when you first get them, definitely hold onto them. You may like them better once your taste buds start to heal up. Also some flavors get better with time, as they age/steep.

Again tastes will vary, but after trying many brands, I now stick with Nicoticket for most of my orders....so I can't let a juice recommendation request go by without mentioning them. Their Tobaccos and Bakery items are all out this world yummy...and that fruit flavor they have up right now - F5 - is my most favoritest vape ever, but it's a one time release.

Hold onto your wallet though, that money savings in my signature is a great big lie ;)
