I've decided to finally take the jump into the world of mechanical mods! I've been doing a lot of reading to try and determine a cost effective and safe setup to get going. With that said, I wanted to see the general consensus on the setup below in terms of safety and functionality. Please let me know if I'm getting something wrong, or something will not be compatible! Any and all feedback is appreciated.

I wanted to get a mod that will fit different battery sizes, and I'm thinking of getting 1 18650 battery and 1 18350 as those are the sizes I'd use to the most. I also wanted to have a dripper and a tank to switch between. The main thing I'm stuck on is a charger - I'd like some cost effective but also safe, so suggestions would be helpful. Lastly, I was going to pick up a mod Fuse just to be safe while I get the ropes of building on these - is that something I should have? Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing everyone's opinions!

I see by your list of potential items you are looking at Fasttech. I would not spend the $10 or so for the trustfire TR001 that they offer.
Opt for a Nitecore, Xtar or the Efest LUC.

Much better chargers than the trustfire for not much more money.

Your batteries and charger are some of the most important parts of your gear when it comes to safely using a mechanical mod.

You should be looking for a decent multimeter and one of those cheap black box 510 threaded ohm readers also. You need a multimeter to measure your batteries voltage so you don't run them down to unsafe discharge levels and to check for proper function of your battery charger. The multi meter is a great all around tool to have. The black box ohm reader to check your builds of your RDA/RBAs and they work pretty good as a atty holder when you build your RBA/RDA.

Thanks for the feedback from both of you! Yes, I've been looking at Fasttech but I'm aware of their reputation and as such won't be buying my batteries or charger from there. I ended up pulling the trigger on everything but the charger, but purchased my batteries from MadVapes who seem to have a good reputation.

I actually already have a multimeter and an ohm reader as well, so the main thing is the battery charger. I've been looking at the Nitecore chargers as everyone seems to recommend those. I agree about the batteries/charger being key to safety, so even though I've been doing quite a bit of reading I plan on hitting up my local vape shop as well once I receive everything to get some hands-on advice. Thanks again and if anyone else has any more feedback feel free to add to the discussion!

I hate the springs in the nitecores.. they stick and pop off real easy.. pretty cheap quality..paired channels in the i4.

not just for safety, but also for performance.

+×'s 3-trillion.. a multimeter I find a necessity, and confirm the accuracy with another meter.

also might want to look into an inline volt meter.. easier to keep in a bag or pocket to check voltage of battery when you get a new mod.. don't ever discharge a battery beyond 2.7volts and recharge it-xtar has chargers that will recover cells from being over discharged, but I doesn't crack open the cell and clean it up like new..so I won't ever trust that..
