name is Joseph. I quit on Christmas day of 2013. Was on the patch and it worked but was missing the hand to mouth motion. Tried candy, gum, chips and all that did was make me swell up. Tried Blu cigs for a spell but they didnt work for me. Batterys didnt last for very long and neither did the cartridges. It helped get through a 10 hour drive with my 3 little ones in the truck though but as soon as I arrived I stopped and bought a pack of smokes.

At my worst I had gotten up to 3 packs a day of Marlboro lights 100's. I would wake upwith a hacking cough daily. My clothes reeked of smoke. I was once asked to change my seat at my 7 year olds cheerleading performance because the lady I was sitting next to was pregnant and I smelled, I obliged as to not cause a scene. The straw that broke the camels back was when my 2 year old got ahold of my pack and ate one. Found him with a filter in his mouth and leaves in between his teeth. He's fine by the way, just got an upset stomach later that day.

Even while on the patch I would sneak cigarettes. And the same goes for Blu's. It wasnt till a co worker of mine told about vaping that I thought about quitting again.

Started with and still using 2 1100mah Ego-T's with kanger t3s's. The juice I use is from a seller I found on ebay who carries Monster flavored juice (JMac Vapes). Doing 60/40 with 16mg of nicotine. Am currently looking for a new set up, 1 of the reasons I signed up on the site was for the vast amount of information that I have found on here. :vapor:

Welcome, and congrats on quitting! I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed by the choices, like we all are! :) Hey, choice is a good thing!

My first question is, are you doing okay at 16mg? I was a 2 pack a day smoker, and I need 24mg to squash the cravings.

Doing ok but I vape every where and all the time. Thats the reason I bought 2 batteries so u wouldnt run out. I was going to get 32mg but the guy I bought my juice from said he recommended 16mg. He said he gets a lot of people who start at 32 and 24 and the get dizzy spells and what not so I tried his recommendation and have been there since. What I noticed wasn't the missing nicotine it was the throat hit. I ordered one juice where it was too smooth and I threw it away because of that.
(My wife said I do get .....y a little quicker than before so maybe 24mg would've a good idea but I thinki am alright.)

Welcome! I signed up here also because of the amount of information available to me. I would like to say that I am very happy with my decision to quit analogs and picking up vaping. It was a little difficult at first and have had about 4 analogs since quitting, but everytime I did, I just couldn't enjoy it like I used to.

I've thought about it but havent done it yet. I rarely get the urge to now. I might get one from a co worker but this is the longest I have been able to go without smoking and I'm actually scared ....less I'd go back to smoking.

Welcome, Joseph; keep at it; sooner or later you will stumble onto a good replacement recipe and get away from the smokes.

I picked up a disposable ecig last year July, and by end of August I had no more cigarettes in my house - and probably got rid of the astrays later too.

If you do a lot of driving you might already have one of those usb things that plug into your vehicle cigarette lighter for power, so that you can charge a cell phone;

That would come in handy for getting a couple of these:
USB Variable Voltage Mini Passthrough - Chrome

No battery to charge.

I suggest you keep more than 1 tank handy; one with higher nicotine for if you need it, but use the lower one mostly.
For example you might start you day off with a cup of coffee and take out your higher nicotine tank, but once you're off on the road, you would use the lower strength tank

If you budget to spend HALF of what you used to spend on cigarettes, you'll be able to get yourself up and running on decent hardware with BACKUPs so you don't find yourself pressured to go pick up some cigarettes.

After a few months, maybe a year, you should only be spending 10% what you used to spend on cigarettes.

Congrats on quitting. I quit Dec 31st. I haven't had the urge because the ecig helps with the hand to mouth, which I find to be a harder habit to break than the nicotine. I am currently finishing off the last of my 18mg juices and going with 12 already. The good thing about vaping is I have been in a much better mood than when I was actually smoking and my wife and kids love the smell of the dessert smelling vapes a whole lot more than the smoke smell.

I passed by someone today that was smoking and almost threw up. Such a bad small and I have apologized to people that have been around me when I smoked.

You sir, freaking rock!! I didnt know these were available. I do spend alot of time in my work truck and these would absolutely save me the worry of running out of battery. Buying 2 of these now. Thank you. May your camel spit nothing but dates.

Way ahead of you bud. I currently carry 4 tanks. 1 Monster flavor, 1 of candy cane, 1 of red hots, and 1 of a custom made flavor of the guy I get my juice from called " Get Ya Some" . I got a little carry case with my Ego and they all go in there and with me wherever I go. In the morning I vape one I bought locally from a company called "Buck Naked" its Turkish Tabacco. Reminds me of a Marlboro so I only vape that in the morning with my coffee.

Starting to realize this. I was a 2 packs a day steady, on a bad day I was at 3. I think the little calculator I see on a lot of peoples signatures said I'd saved about 300 bucks already and its only been 3 weeks...I think ill buy a house in a year with all I'm saving

Hi Joseph and I'll echo the welcome and congratulations from the previous posters. I started with and still use my eGo-t upgrade batteries and Kanger MT3S's. The only other thing I have added is a couple of Vision Spinner VV batteries which I use in the evenings when I rotate juice flavors. This combination of equipment has worked well for me and I have been analog free since the day after I started vaping. So you can do it and remain analog free.

I'll also repeat what was posted about backups for equipment. The folks here suggested I get backups and backups for my backups. I don't want a dead battery or equipment failure to be a reason to go back to the stinkies. Over the past 3 months I've acquired backups for my backups and backups for those backups. Truth is I have about 15 MT3S's, 30 extra coils and 4 batteries. I carry backups for everything, including juice with me wherever I go.

You are so right...this community has a ton of information. Even more important is that I've found the folks here to be very supportive and positive. Every time I sign on and participate, I feel encouraged and it reminds me that vaping is the right choice for me. It's way cheaper (at least for me) and I enjoy vaping more than I did smoking. So many flavors, so little time !!

I hope you find ECF to be helpful on your vaping journey. Congrats again on trying to replace analogs with vaping. It may be one of the best life choices you've made...for yourself and for the people who care about you and who you care about.

Enjoy and namaste.

We have had a great experience vaping and don't want to return to cancer sticks. We haven't saved any money from switching though. We ended up turning it into a hobby so we find that we are spending more but it gives us new focus (rather than smoking) and something to do together. We have ended up converting her entire family (and some extended) over from smoking too.

What company do you get your Monster from and does it taste like the real thing to you? I can't find anyone that stocks it with a correct flavor. I am a Monster-a-holic and I would rather vape some than drinking two a day.

Thanks!

I was looking around on ebay and saw there was a seller who sold it but with no nicotine, so I decided to email him and see if it could be added and he said yes. I've been ordering from him. Havent tried any other place so I wouldnt have anything to compare it too. Sadly I don't think anyone will be able to capture the flavor but it tastes ok. I'm still drinking my two cans daily though, but thats a whole different habit that I'm not really sure I want to quit.

heres the link to the guy on ebay
Jmac Fresh Vape Ejuice E Juice Eliquid Vapor Green Energy Drink 15ml No Nicotine | eBay.
