Hello, i've been vaping somewhat 2 years now, but i've been using the normal atomizers. With the usual resistances etc. The reason i post this is, to ask you (some vets or old users), should i prefer an rda or an rta, and which in your own opinion is the "best" in each category. I researched a lot in the last month, i know almost all the acronyms etc, except RBC (clearomizer or smth.). If any1 could help me with these questions, i would be thankful.

Thanks again, and have a nice vape! ;)

If you dislike always carrying a bottle of ejuice and dripping every few drags tgen an RDA is alright.

If you want to leave the house for an hour or two consider ab RBA or RTA.

I usedf RBAs for a while and HATED them.

Dripping all the time

RDAs with bottom airflow leaking all the time

The taste of burned cotton when wick got Dry.

I went RTAs and stayed there.

Do you have any RTA to recommend?

How do you like to vape, MTL or DL hits? Are you after flavor or clouds? How much are you wanting to spend and fiddle with it?
An RBA can offer big clouds and lots of flavor, but needs watched all the time.
An RTA can do clouds or flavor, but generally not both at once. Some RTA's work great, others need some working with to get it right, hard to coil, hard to wick and can leak.

Hi Kyrkis,

no, you shouldn't prefer any type of atomizer over another.
It's all down to personal preference.

Imo RDAs give the best vape quality, nothing saturates a coil quite as nicely as dripping directly on top of it.
Next are Squonkers, still awesome vape quality... minus the direct saturation, then it's top coils, then it's RTAs...
for me...

Best RDA, etc... can't really say. This is again down to preference. What do you like in a vape? MTL, Direct lung,
flavor oriented, cloud oriented?
My fav flavor RDA is still the vertex V2 (though fairly balanced, good cloudage as well), would i buy a new one, i'd look at the Hadaly. Prob going for that one myself. Cloudy RDAs... have a look at the Tsunami 24... i like mine.
RTA... for flavor goblin mini v3, for clouds the Ijoy Combo. But there's almost endless good alternatives.

The expression RTA is a newer thing i.m.o.

Not so long ago you either had
1. An RDA = rebuildable dripping atomizer and
2. An RBA = rebuildable atomizer (with a tank) like a Kayfun etc.

if you had a tank it either had
1. Factory coils only. (Basically, a glass clearomizer but better usually)
2. an RBA atomizer ('section' or 'deck') only or
3. both.

Now... for some reason, people started talking about RTA = rebuildable tank atomizer.
If there is confusion, it's that anything you can rebuild is a rebuildable atomizer.

So... logic has taken hold and now we have

1. An RDA = rebuildable dripping atomizer and
2. An RTA = rebuildable tank atomizer

Confused? Maybe.... but you also have squonking to consider.

Many of the latest RTAs feature a system where the coils aren't in the tank as they used to be.

I personally think for flavor, then a RDA is the King.
Then a squonk set-up.
Then an RTA.

If you want flavor the Goblin Mini, and Silverplay nano blows tge doors off the Velocity, Veritas, Magma, N21 and other RDAs.

About the same flavor of the Freakshow Mini, Rogue, or stumpy.

The only RDA to beat the Goblin Mini or Silverplay Nano is the Darang RDA.

Hi Kyrkis. Welcome to the ECF.

When it comes to an Atomizer, either and RDA or an RTA, saying what is the 'best" is Very hard to answer.

Because some people are into Flavor more than Clouds - Clouds verses Flavor. Dual Coils verses a Single Coils. Massive e-Liquids storage over Compact Size. Easy to Build verses Maximum Performance.

I could say that the NarDa is the Best RDA that I have ever used. But if someone is looking to run Dual Coils with High Airflow, a NarDa would be a Terrible Choice.

Same with an RTA. The Serpent Sub Ohm Tank is a Great RTA. But if one is looking for a Tank to fill Once a Day, that Isn't the One.

Wow, that are some really bold statements.
RTA's beating out RDAs for flavor... oh my.
The only RDA to beat RTAs is the Darang... so you tried them all, yet you say you
gave up on them? Erh...
But whatever floats your boat... It's all down to preference.

A little "imo" would go a long way though.;)

The goblin mini v3 IS a very good DL-flavor RTA though, yes.

Thats's why i wrote IN YOU OPINION. After i come up with a list of recommended RBAs, ill research into them and, thereafter, decide. I consider RDA and RTA both being RBA. Thanks all and have a nice day!!!

There are a lot of variables, and, your skill level does get involved for success. Getting something that is great for...whatever, may also be a PITA.

Some would be happy spending the time tinkering and adjusting and others want simplicity. Even your time allowed is a variable

My first RTA, or RBA to some, was a Kayfun. They had a good reputation then and they still do for being respectable and middle of the road when it comes to variables...IMO.

I normally have 6-7 "toppers" with juice in them so that I can change flavors in a hurry. My tinkering tends to only be in the evening. So, my thinking that what "one" I buy is the only one I will be able to buy is not realistic.

Make a decent decision, but I wouldn't get to concerned about a perfect decision. There are many kinds with different strong points and weak points. I was just happy that I didn't get something that was a PITA for my skill level.

Good luck and good vapes

But what are YOU after? How do you like to vape? How much do you want to spend? How much effort do you want to put into it?
My personal favorite right now is the Kayfun v4, but I still have a bear of a time getting it wicked right.
I can build Kayfun lites in my sleep!
I've got a Bachelor I've yet to get right.
The TFV4 and Mutank are airy as all get out and require twice the wick you think you need.
The Goblin mini is great flavor, but a bear to fill, a bit airy for my tastes and needs a lot of wick.
The Innokin Axiom is a great tank that offers a lot of versatility. Add a small bore driptip and it's MTL, open it up and it's DL. Not that hard to wick, but a teeny build deck.
Love the flavor and options of my Alleria, but dual coil and not that easy to wick.
Kinda see where I'm going? I can rattle off tanks all night, but until we have an idea what YOU want from it, it's meaningless.

RDA = Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer
RBA = ReBuildable Atomizer (dripper or tank)
RTA = Rebuildable Tank Atomizer

For RDA recommendations, the only one I like is the Derringer. Not the biggest cloud producer, but the side airflow means no leaks down the 510 like the newer velocity styles with the bottom airflow. It is a fairly basic three piece design that allows for single or dual coils, small chamber and small overall size, and takes standard 510 drip tips. It is a flavor atomizer. Because the coils are offset from the center, you don't have a coil directly under the drip tip, which means reduced spitback
maxresdefault.jpg

RTA... I like the Griffin atomizer with a close second being the Goblin Mini (Version 1). The downside to both of these is the Velocity style deck allowing juice to seep down into the 510. Juice seeping down the 510 is now my major pet peeve with Velocity styles, since it has ruined three mods during their lifetime. Any spitback that goes down the airflow stays down, and gets into the 510 connection.. this is the bane of the velocity styles. I have somewhat overcome it by keeping a kepler type heat sink under EVERY velocity style. That being said, I love the Griffin for it's huge build deck. The Juice control option means I can close it off and throw it in my pocket so I have little concern about it leaking. The goblin is only a second because it takes a proprietary drip tip, and I have broken all of mine. Both the griffin and the goblin have great airflow and flavor.

I would like more cloud, atm, rather than taste. Since i have a bit of a problem with my smelling. Does the thikness of the smoke change between the atomizers, or is it solely on the flavour you use? The time and effort an RBA needs, is of no concern since i will put into it as much as i have/need to. thanks for the recommmendations ill look into those you mentioned.

If you want clouds look at the TFV4 or TFV8, even the Mutank. These are getting old school so they can be found on the cheap. They also use replaceable coils so you can play with them while you learn to build. Just make sure they come with the RBA deck.
You can also get verified for the classified section here and look at used atties for a good price. I've picked up several from here for $15-20ea.
