Hi I am Jon and have been vaping for about a year.

I started off using eGo twist batts and t2/kanger protanks for the first 6 months or so. Bought a vamo v3 and some icr18650-26f batteries. I have loved it but recently I have been wanting to get into larger clouds, cleaner taste, and a more hands on experience to keep me into vaping and going back to smoking cigarettes,

I started off with buying a 24k gold plated triton rda and some kanthol and wrapped a single coil to the minimum 1.2ohm that my vamo would allow. However it just wasn't doing it for me and I decided to move into sub ohm. The lowest I have used was .6 dual coil using 28g wire and I picked up a blade vision mech to use it in (at the shop i picked it up from they told me no specifics about it and honestly I don't know how educated I am on the mod). I used it for a few hours last night and decided to do some research into it before i used a .3ohm dual coil. I am still using the samsung icr18650-26f batts but I went ahead and took the build out since I read that the batteries I am using are not the safest. (contrary to a website I found with a top5 pick of batteries.)

So my question to the forum is, how safe are those batteries that I am using?
What would the lowest safe resistance be for the Blade Vision mech + those batteries if it's even safe at all?
What would be a good website to purchase new batteries on that would keep me from blowing my hand off and what type of battery should I buy?

I realize that I am a newb and I'm doing my research as we speak, watching safety videos and ready safety links. I was hoping someone can give me a straightforward answer and help a beginner out. I was reading the stickied link about the wave of subohm vapers entering the forum and knew i was in the right place ;)

And to ease anyone ready to jump, I am sticking with a single coil set at 1.3 ohms and using it on my vamo v3that is to my knowledge made to stop working before anything dangerous happens.

Thank you for the attempt to reduce the beating I'm sure to get.

Whatever happens, just know that it is with your safety in mind. That, and the number of people who've been vaping for, like, a week and twist up dangerous coils without caution - it scares the bejeezus out of a community nervous that one horrible accident will get press around the world while we're at a critical juncture vis-a-vis regulation. You seem to have enough sense and want to learn - it's cool - but you may get a few zealous comments is all.

Gettin' my ohm stick out now. :p

Welcome to the forum. You're at least aware that there are some "rules" involved with sub-ohm vaping, and you've pretty much come to the right place to get information on how to do it safely.

On the bright side, at least you HAVE something to measure resistance with. Now get yourself some good batteries. ;)

Sub-ohm might end up being your preference, everyone has different tastes. That being said, don't hesitate to try a micro-coil build when you get a chance. It may surprise you.

(Yes, I go sub-ohm when the mood strikes me).

Vape safely!

And make sure you get a decent multimeter and learn how to use it to safely measure Ohms. Check the Ohms after building the coil, test after firing for hot spots, and tests after wicking. Only takes a few minutes, and will also let you know if you may have a short in your RDA. The lowest I have gone is .2 ohms but it was really killing the battery life. I stick with about .6 ohms when I want to sub-ohm.

Have a dual coil setup in the IGO-W3 with 6 wraps of 28 Gauge Kanthal. Hits like a champ.

I should edit my original post, the coil I was using was a microcoil using 28g Kanthol single coil in my rda. Twas very fun and I used a 100%vg juice from Free State Vapor to up the plumes. I actually just purchased the batteries from my first replier. Seemed credible and he knew the forum enough to give me a heads up. I'm still wanting to know how safe my current batteries are in my mech and if I should still use it. Otherwise I'm going to stick with my vamo.

My vamo v3 will do all of that for me except for test firing anything below 1.2ohms. but as long as it doesn't give a warning for short I throw it on the mech and test fire it.

I'm still curious as to whether or not I should use those batts in my mech, and if so what would be the min recommendation

Thank you that is extremely helpful and sort of what I was looking for just doesn't have the battery I am using -.- probably means something haha

Thinks seems like the battery you listed so hope it helps. Lists at 5.2 amp max discharge current so for safety I wouldn't run more than 4.2 just to have a buffer (about 80% of rating). So by the math, to be safe I would only go down to 1 ohm, nothing sub with that one. I always assume max battery charge for my calcs. So voltage/resistance=current. On that 0.6 at full charge it's about 7 amps. I use the Sony vtc4 battery with a 30 amp limit.
