Hi. I have been analog smoker for about 10 yrs+ and have moved on to vaping about 8months now.

I have been using sigelei 30w and kanger t3d till yesterday; I really enjoyed that set up except frequent leak/condensation and short coil life.

Finally I moved up to subohm yesterday, but it was not what I expected because of:

1. vapor too hot
2. tastes worse
3. not much vapor production compared to other people using atlantis

My current set up consists of sigelei 50w at 20~25w with atlantis v2 0.5 ohm coil
The juice I am using is 70pg/30vg 12mg nicotine (I still use 24mg for t3d for throat hit)

My questions are:
1. is it normal to get hotter vapor temperature wise?
2. I don't understand why same juice tastes really bad in atlantis. could it be I burned coil? how long is coil life?
3. why am I getting way too much throat hit/burning feeling?
4. why am I not getting big clouds like other people posting?

Appreciate your answers in advance.
Have a nice day

12 mg nic is fairly high for subohm resistance ranges.
The high pg & 12 mg nic is causing the harsh throat hit / burning feeling.
The high pg also reduces vapor production.
Did you properly prime the head?
If not it's probably scorched / burnt the wicking material.

There is a big difference between t3s and an Atlantis.
Mouth to lung vs direct lung hit, very restrictive airflow vs very airy unrestrictive, subohm vs plus ohm, tiny pieces of wicking material and very small coil to wick surface area vs large coil to wicking surface area.

thank you for the reply.
I guess I should movedown to 6mg from now on with more vg (say 30pg/70vg)?
and what do you mean by "prime the head"?
so you are saying i might have burned the coil?
if so, I will try another new coil

Yes, it's normal for the vape to get hotter with more power. 20-25w should be within the Atlantis capability with that coil. If it tastes burnt, the wick is probably burnt and the coil needs replacing. To prime it, put a drop or two of juice down the chimney, plus another drop or two in each wick window on the sides. Then assemble and fill the tank. Take a couple of hard draws on the drip tip, closing the airholes if you can, without firing the mod. The idea is to make sure the wick is soaked with juice before firing the coil. The juice vaporizing off the wick is what keeps it from burning. Most people, me included, find 12mg nic too strong at subohm vapor production, and your high-PG juice definitely shortchanges vapor production and increases throat hit. A higher VG percentage and less nic should improve both. Finally, remember subohm is not for everybody, and not everybody likes it. You might be one of those people.

Welcome to the board. Give that a try and see if things improve for you. Either way, come back and tell us and we'll work on it some more.

Prime by dripping drops on top of the wicking material in the head until fully saturated.
May take 4 - 8 or more drops depending on size of drops. Then fill tank & thread to base, let sit a few minutes then take a few un powered primer puffs before pressing the fire button.
I don't usually reccomend a specific pg/ vg ratio, I have a severe intolerance to vg.
50/50 & 3 mg nic works for me others like a higher vg %.

Just got Atlantis 2 couple weeks ago, I've had funny taste first few hits. Blamed it on new organic cotton in the Atlantis 2 coils. Doesn't always happen.just some juices. Not sure though, doesn't taste burnt just funny, goes away after a while.could that be part of the problem?

at this point I am guessing it is the juice I am using lol.

I will experiment with 6mg with higher vg next time.
