First of all I want to say thank you to anyone on these forums. They have been so helpful in finding great hardware, juice and information about vaping in general.

I have been rocking an iStick 20w with a Nautilus for about 5 months now. It has gotten me off of cigarettes for good. I'm now upgrading my mod and tank to a eleaf 50w and a new kanger subtank mini (black). I'm not looking to rebuild any coils yet but I wanted the option for the future.

I'm thinking about getting some different tanks to switch out throughout the day. Right now I'm considering the Delta 2 by joytech and the Atlantis v2. I would love some suggestions about what to look at before making a purchase. What are good places to buy from?

I've also heard I should stay away from higher nicotine levels for sub ohming. It's that true? I'm at 6mg for the time being.

I appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks.

Hi Gillistration. I have multiple Subtank Mini's and love them. I decided to get more of the same because it cuts down on having to have different coils for different tanks. I use the different subtanks (with different colored o rings) to keep different flavor juices so I just swap out a tank to change flavors. I recently got one of the white and one black for my collection. Most people cut their nicotine level in half or more when switching/upgrading to sub tanks. The better the delivery device the more juice vaporized the more nicotine ingested. Compared to the Nautilus the Subtank or the other ones you mentioned is a guzzler. You can always buy the same juice you now have in a zero nic and mix equally to cut the nicotine in half.

For Kanger Products I like shopping here: Vape Super Saver

There are scores of good sub ohm tanks out there and I find that most of them seem pretty good. I use the Arctic tank myself. Most sub ohm tanks provide good airflow in order to produce more vapor. Some tanks provide larger juice flow holes than other tanks which allows you to run thicker/high VG juice through them without experiencing dry hits. I have never once experience a dry hit with the Arctic and I have run some of the thickest juices though it imaginable. Plus the Arctic has very good airflow. But like I say, there are many good tanks out there...the Herakles, the Zeph, Altlantis and on and on......... There are lots of good review videos on you tube which usually dive down into the nitty gritty of a product while it is being reviewed. I suggest looking at those after a few folks here tell you of all the different tanks out there, then go look at the videos of the tanks.

I've been vaping for over 3-4 years and i'm still at 6 mg for sub ohm. The Delta 2 and the Atlantis v2 are both good choices. I've always had good luck on myvaporstore.com, vapordna, yetivapes and there's a couple of others that do well and ship very quickly. Just realize you'll be going through quite a bit more juice. When I was vaping at 20 watts I was going through 3-4 ml a day. Now, I go through about 8-10 ml vaping anywhere from 35-50 watts. When you decide to start building, just go on youtube and watch a lot of videos. I probably have hundreds upon hundreds of hours just researching and knowing which size wire and how many wraps. I love building my own coils and it's definitely a hobby of mine. An e juice vendor I use is spvapors.com Great prices and awesome flavors

when you double your wattage you need to half your nicotine level.
So if you were vaping 5mg at 20 watts
aim for 2mg at 50 watts.

btw the istick50 had some problems when they first came out. you can search this forum to find messages about them

Ordered one from Amazon, arrived today.
Could tell immediately it was a clone.
    Thought I'd try it anyway...
Suffice to say I'm using my 2mm drillbit again.
Oh well, another lesson learnt :-x

I wouldn't hesitate to try the RDA head for the Subtank Kev. You can strain it onto a miniature screwdriver securing one end of the wire in a forceps, needle nose, etc. Try to be consistent in rotation and strain applied. Pulse it at low voltage wattage until it glows gently red, not higher, consistently end to end…for starters.

Thirty seconds, predictable repeatable results. You need to oxidize Kanthal for a non-shorting contact microcoil, the most power in the least space. Think contact patch on a performance tire.

(This, plus all the methods you might need for installing in anything.)

    Protank MicroCoil Discussion!!
Tensioned Micro Coils. The next step.

Pipe up and some experienced vet will step up to lend a hand.

    Good luck all.

    :)

I'm new to this forum and vaping as well. My first post BTW)
I stared e-cig about 3 weeks ago, no analogs since then. Used Atlantis mini with Ipox 2 1600 which didn't last me for the whole day, so I got the iStick 50w with Aspire Triton tank. It came with 0.4 ohm coil, that made me try sub ohming. That was really bad, first puff just made me cuff. Vapor is just too hot even with both air intakes wide open. I've searched some forums and so, found the right way to sub ohm, straight lung hit instead of mouth to lung, things got a little better but I fill huge discomfort in my lungs and teeth. What am i doing wrong?
The juice is 50\50 6mg, tried different wattage from 20 to 50.

You should be able to stay with 6mg in those tanks. Its what I use and its fine. Heavy hitters like the TFV4 and Starre I use 3mg. Some RTA's I use I even have to go down to 2mg.

The Atlantis is a solid tank.

The Atlantis V2 sucks out loud. Same basic tank but a MONSTER drip tip which is changable with normal drip tips. I could get rid of that thing fast enough

Anther one is the Triton. Same basic tank as the Atlantis, coils interchange, with top fill.

Subtank is a rock solid performer

Definitely straight lung hits. And 50/50 is probably your problem. You want higher VG. Preferably a Max VG. 30/70 should be ok too.
