You're supposed to slot, or punch them for tank use. Not for use by themselves. If you're dripping directly into the carto, and slotted it that's your reason for the spillage. Slotting a carto outside of a tank for usage by itself has no purpose. The purpose of slotting is to allow more Efluid into the carto from the tank at once allowing better saturation and "fuller flavor/hit."

No, I know that. Why would I slot a non-tank carto? I just filled it up; not through the carto, and it ran out of the battery end.

Cartos from Smoktech that are flanged for the tanks also have a prepunched hole. You put the carto in the tank open end up with the hole above the bottom o ring. You saturate the carto with juice, not getting any down the center hole. You then pour juice into the tank around the carto to about 3/4 full. Then you slide the carto up through the hole in the top cap. It is easier if you use a tank tool to protect your o rings. Put a drip tip on, take a few dry pulls (do not fire the battery) to equalize pressure in the carto and tank (you should see bubbles coming out of the carto hole) then fire the battery and take long slow drags.

I vape carto tanks exclusively and they do not have juice running out of them onto my devices.

I also do not slot them. I don't want metal shavings inside my cartos and you run the risk of having them in there using a dremel or other cutting device.
