Hello all, new here and only been vaping for 3 months, i started out with the mini's but still couldn't quit smoking the best i could do was cut my analog use down from two packs a day to one, after two weeks of vaping the minis i found out about what else what available in the vaping world and got an ego pen i haven't picked up an analog since, now i have two kanger tanks, a Kraken clone, the Igo w4, a now glitchy itaste svd, a Magneto mech mod, a vamo v5 in the mail and i just picked up the new igo w6.
as you might be able to see this has become a fast obsession and i'm loving the ride, most importantly for the first time in 32 i am smoke free
i look forward to learning more and contributing where i can.

I know how you feel. i started out with the eg0-Ts and now i have an atomic just blowing clouds of vapor. it has quickly become more of a hobby than anything i could have ever imagined. but more importantly we aren't smoking the analogs and that is what makes it worth it. btw way i have been using the magneto for about 6 months now, love it.

Welcome and congratulations on making the switch! It is amazing isn't it? :)

i never thought it could be so easy to get smoke free, i smoked an analog right before i went into the vape shop to get my ego c-twist it was the last one in the pack and i still had a full unopened pack at home it the freezer....it's still right there in the freezer today :2cool: i wrote the date on the pack and left it there as a reminder.

My husband smoked up until 3 days ago. It was easy to see the full ashtray. Seeing it all the time made it so easy to keep on vaping. Ashtrays are disgusting. Now with my husband making the switch it is so much better because he is understanding coils and Cotton and wicks. So I a going to be learning new things. As for that pack of smokes with the date on it in your freezer, that can help you stay vaping. My brother carried a half pack of smokes with him for months. Finally gave them away. However he quit cold turkey and that was years ago. If you happen to have any cravings for a smoke, vape lots because I can honestly say that the cravings really lesson. I don't get them often at all. Even being at 6 mg of nic. I bet if I stayed at 12 mg I wouldn't get any at all. So other advice would be don't lower your nic to fast.

Grates to both of you :) and i agree ashtrays are disgusting i've lost track of how many times i spilled them on myself and my furniture. i vape 18mg for my tanks and 12mg with my RDA, but am thinking about going down to 6mg for the RDA as i was getting to much at 12 on my new igo w6, that thing is a beast with the vape lol, as for the pack in the freezer, i'm going to keep it there till i hit one year and then i'm going to make an oak box with glass panels and seal it inside and use it as a paper weight. haven't had any cravings since i first started but i started kinda high at 24, i jumped down to 18 and stayed so i go between 18 and 6 depending on what i'm vaping on. i mostly have to be careful to not over do it lol :)

LOL, I can relate. I got an Apollo about 6 weeks ago, haven't smoked since but now I've got a Nemises and looking for a tank to go with it. Not even going to talk about how many tanks I've got,)

Do you have a recommendation for a tank type RBA?
i have 3 so far, the kanger pro tank 3 dual coil, kanger AeroTank dual coil, both of those come with a replacement coil and you can buy them as well, but with a lil patients and a steady hand you can rebuild them, of those two i recommend the Aero because of the air control, now my third tank is a Genesis Style kraken clone, now this one is a leaky lil' ..... but is my absolute favorite so far, real easy to coil and the flavors i get from it is perfect, so i'm going to keep trying the Genesis Style or Kayfun style RBAs' clones till i get one that don't leak, next one i try is going to be the Squape Style RBS from fasttech, i'll post about it when i do finally get it, but from the reviews i've seen on it i have high hopes :)

Primal,

That's great news, and congratulations on being a non-smoker. This is a defining moment in your life for the better. You're going to be amazing at how your general well-being and health improve in a very short period of time. Don't be too concerned about the nic levels for now. Whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should use, but don't try a reduction faster than your body can adjust. After a few months, you won't even care much about the nic levels. I for example started at 24 & 36 mg and after a couple of months gradually reduced to 15. I now vape at anywhere from 9 to 15 and about half the time at zero nic. I no longer have the nic cravings and could easily go without it except I believe it does make the eliquids taste better with a stronger throat hit.
I now make most of my own liquids and enjoy experimenting with a variety of flavors, strengths etc.
You'll be there sooner than you think.
Again, congrats, and wishing you the best in you new adventure as a non-smoker!!!

Welcome to ECF! and congratulations on 3 months smoke free. It is wonderful. I see you are getting into exploring the different types of equipment. That and finding a few flavors you love will keep you off the cigarettes. Have fun here and do not be afraid of asking questions. Many of us here and we like to help when we can.

On the tanks and RBAs. The Kayfun family is super popular and easy to build and delivers great flavor. There are many different clones so you do have to do some research to see which device is the right one for you.

For a rebuildable dripper I started with the Igo-L. Large deck, single coil, and super cheap. And works. Some people say the draw is tight so they drill out the airhole.

my first dripper was the igo w4, i liked the dragon coil setup but after i got the igo w6 with it's quad coil setup i had to retire the w4, i absolutely love the w6 :)
i have the Squape Style Rebuildable Atomizer from fasttech coming soon and after that i will be trying the Kayfun v3.1 from fasttech, i'm on a tight budget so i'm sticking with the clones lol except with the igo w's while seem to always be a reasonable price.
i've heard about a drip tip that has it's own airflow control on it so you dont have to drill out holes in you RDA/RBA's i might try one of those.
