I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I've never been a cigarette smoker but from Feb '12 - Oct '13 I was a daily 1-stick cigar smoker (usually on my lunch break). I switched jobs in October and now work form home, and this has actually knocked me down to a 1-2 stick/week cigar smoker, usually with a buddy of mine I smoke with but occasionally during the work day on the front porch or at the local cigar shop. I don't inhale (unlike my buddy who used to be a cigarette smoker) and honestly the drop in frequency hasn't caused any withdrawal other than the meditative aspect.

I've recently started vaping to fill the meditative hole left by my decrease in cigar consumption. I've been sticking to 0mg nicotine for the most part with the few exceptions being a couple of flavors my local shop didn't have in 0mg. I don't have any intention of using higher nicotine content juice outside of these rare cases.

That said, I'm vaping what feels like A LOT of juice... around 3ml a day. I'm also not cutting out premium cigars either and will probably still enjoy 1 a week, probably more on guy-trips and when golfing. That said, I haven't had a cigar at all in 3 weeks of vaping, though it's probably a honeymoon period while I'm experimenting with hardware and flavors.

Any other cigar smokers around who have replaced, decreased, or otherwise augmented cigars with vaping? Have you used nicotine juice for cessation, or 0mg for purely meditative? I know the vast majority are cigarette smokes and I applaud you for making the switch! My buddy I mentioned above has also picked up vaping and is using it to replace his 2-3 Swisher Cigarillo per day habbit, we still enjoy a premium stick once a week.

All that said, I'd love to hear from other cigar smokers and also learn as much as I can handle from this great community!

My father-in-law was a BIG cigar smoker. He lived at the end of an apartment hallway and as soon as you got off the elevator the smell hit you. After he died his car smelled like that for years causing his daughters to break-up every once in a while. I don't think you will be able to re-create that experience unless you regularly bathe in the juice.

Hello and welcome,

I smoked cigarettes for many years and quit several times. The last time I started smoking again, I decided not to buy cigarettes, partly because the prices went way up since the last time I bought them and partly because I knew I would smoke them every chance I got.

I thought that, if I smoked cheap cigars, I would get disgusted by the taste of "burning tires" and quit. It didn't work. I became accustomed to the taste.

I don't know how many years that went on but it was many. I kept telling my self that I had to quit but never could go without for very long.

Then I bought a 2-pack of Njoy cig-alikes. They were a big disappointment so I decided to do some research online. I found out about mods and "vaping" and dove in.

Haven't smoked any tobacco since the day my Ego kit arrived. Then my MVP 2 came in and that was even better. Going on 3 months now and I'm a vaper for life. That is unless the government takes it away.

i saw a video last night at tasteyourjuice.com. it was supposed to be about recent vape meets in miami and vegas but displayed a bunch of new products in the beginning. there is a new mod that looks like a real cigar available. will try to find out where you can get one and send a link.

Innokin is coming out with the cigar mod. looks nice.

Not a cigar smoker, but I do occasionally enjoy a pipe. It's heresy, but I actually enjoy my pipe more now that I can taste it better.

The big thing for me is the range in flavor. Even aromatic pipe tobaccos (and I'd guess cigars) have a very heavy flavor to them. That's where vaping, I think, really rocks. Instead of very subtle nuances in flavor, wine flavored ejuice, when it's good, tastes like wine. Cherry tastes like cherry.

However, I do tend toward what I think of as 'dryer' flavors. More spices and and herbal type flavors than bakery, sweet or fruits.

So I'd venture to say 0 nic vaping could well be a substitute for cigar smoking, particularly the activity part of it. The only down side, I've found so far, is unlike smoking, it's not time limited. It's not something you do for 30-45 minutes and then go do something else. That's why I'm getting a really cheap RDA to try. I'm thinking it might fill that, "Excuse me, I need to take a beak now. I'll be back in ... minutes." gap vaping leaves behind. (And before anyone jumps on me for being a slacker because I like to take a few breaks during the day, don't. Just don't.)

I think you might mean the Zeus - it seems like a good device from the reviews.....

So far I'm fairly happy with my eGo-T and CE4, but I have an Aspire ET BDC on the way and will probably pick up a Twist or Spinner battery soon. I don't feel the need to mimic the form-factor of cigars, but I probably will experiment with some cigar-flavor juices and maybe blend some flavors to try to mimic some of my favorite infused cigars (CI Legends Copper Label is my favorite, with hazelnut and amaretto infusion), but I'm also enjoying completely unrelated flavors too (mostly soda flavors like Cherry Cola and Dr. Pepper).

I was smoking 2-3 Toro Maduros a day and 5-6 on golf days. I've just about quit after two weeks of vaping and I am perfectly satisfied and like this as an alternative. I started with the disposable e-cigars (veppo, cusamo, etc.) and now enjoy both the Zeus from Vap4life with smileomizers (closest to a cigar experience imop) and have a couple of vision spinners with aspire ET BDC (MyFreedomSmokes has great starters and service). It's remarkable how different the same juice tastes out of different devices. I think I've got about a dozen juices right now and I'd highly recommend: The Godfather from goodejuice, Managua from want2vape, and just about anything that Diane does at MyVapeJuice. Her NET juices are my favorites and the Perdomo No.23 and the Ramon Bueso rock and are really close to the real things without the ashtray aftertaste and burn holes in my golf shirts. She's actually going to do a Rocky Patel Edge Maduro for us in the future--by request! I've been ordering all juices with 18mg of nicotine and am getting ready to come down to 12mg on my next orders. Just saying.

BTW, this Forum and it's members share the best information that I've seen and there's plenty to learn but this just beats the heck out of expensive cigars and the associated risks. Good luck and enjoy!

My Father-in-Law is a 1/2-full pack of Swishers a day smoker and we're getting him a kit he'll only have to refill once a day. He's a bit older and comes from an older farming family so my husband got the research down for him and is picking up the pieces as he finds them. The biggest problem is finding a juice to buy for him since he doesn't do the online thing at all. Most of the straight-up tobacco blends me and the husband have tried are way sweet. Anyone have a Swisher-like flavored juice to rec?

Husband's a cigar smoker and vaping isn't going to fully replace his cigars (especially since he has a vast and delicious collection) and I'm interested in finding some legit cigar flavors. @Patioclark, I think you've got some great recs so far and I'm looking forward to ordering those to check it out.

Quick update and it's all good. I have a Kanger Aerotank2 on my spinners now and am into rebuilding a Kayfun Lite v2 on a Sigelei 20W. It's funny how we go through the progressions and each provides a little better experience. I'm sure rebuilding isn't for everyone but I'd say the Aerotank is a nice easy upgrade.

Pixie, have your cigar smokers try some of Diane's (MyVapeJuice) pipe NET juices too. I really like her Berkshire with all of her proprietary recipe and "just a tad" of menthol. You'll see the options on the order page and she's a great vendor.

I smoke about 1 analog cigar a week now and go right back to my vaping because it just feels and tastes better.
