Hey all,

I'm kind of a new vaper. Been experimenting with ecigs for the last couple years but never really found a quality device that could keep me from smoking. I've smoked regularly for 25 years, quit once for 3 months and after a stressful and depressing day, got hooked again. I never thought I could ever quit for good.

But then last month I bought myself an Aspire Plato. I've only smoked the remainder of my pack of cigarettes because I hate waste...
Yesterday, I ordered an additional kit, vaporesso Target Pro with an additional tank, some accessories and a ....load of different juices to find the right taste for me.

Like any newcomer, I'm having a lot of questions and I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to join the forum to get some ideas, learn something new, talk about experiences, what's good and what not and meanwhile try to forget I still have a few unopened packs of tobacco somewhere :)

Cheers

Good on ya for not giving up on the vape.
We each need to find our way when we start out.
It usually involves investing our time and money.
Investing our own "skin" in the game increases our chances of success over those that have everything given to them or done for them. You WILL succeed this time. Keep it up.
Welcome to ECF and a cig. free lifestyle!!! Cheers.

Welcome to ecf.
Congrats on kicking the stinky cig habit. Don't worry about those 'other' packs you have around. I had an unopened pack in my kitchen drawer for at least 3 years when I first started vaping. The only time I remembered they were there is when I had to search in that drawer. Most of the time, it was just buried under other stuff(my junk drawer) and I never saw it. Finally, I just threw them out. Like you, I picked up an ecig and never looked back or smoked another cig.

If you have questions just ask...Always someone here 24/7/365.

:)

Hey... maybe I should use the 25 packets of Golden Virginia I have in my drawer!?

(small joke...) I know what you're saying.

Welcome to ECF. :)

I don't personally have anything to do with Aspire because it's too expensive for what it is (in the UK) and the nasty online shops (the ugly, greedy ones that don't look after their customers) like to push their products over others...

Importantly, you know what is coming up in the UK with the TPD? Liquid is limited to 20mg and 10ml.
Tanks limited to 2ml. etc.
If you decide to stick with vaping, you have until May to get into DIY e-liquid, which I suggest you do.
e-liquid is expensive (especially using higher power devices) and will get even more expensive in 6 months. Most of the liquids sold by the 'lovely' shops that google sends people too won't be on sale from May 2017. It'll probably all be Totally Wicked and tobacco companies only selling e-liquid.

I just read a post online yesterday, the WHO sending signals that vaping is not making people stop smoking and that it should be banned. I was like WTF??? What the hell do they know about it?! I just proved them wrong and now they're going to push me back to expensive, stinky, unhealthy tobacco? If I had the money, I'd sue the hell out of them. For who missed it and is interested, google "Vaping does not help people stop smoking, says WHO report"
Yeah, this is something that goes way and beyond comprehension :(
I have absolutely no idea what is going on in the UK either, it seems like they're all making one silly decision after another. The only thing I can say, for me personally, is that I'm moving away from all this madness and I won't be bound to any UK rules anymore. I am really sad for all the vapers I'm leaving behind because again, it's utterly ridiculous.
Sure, there needs to be regulation. It can't be that whoever wants, can put e-liquids on the market with whatever ingredients that may or may not be harmful. People should know what they inhale and they should be protected against people who are just out on making a buck, no matter what harm they cause.
Anyways, it's probably the US market I'll be ordering from a couple months from now. I've seen some worrying messages here and there about it too however. I guess only time will tell.

In any case, I've ordered e-liquids for about £150 with varying nicotine levels, ranging from 3mg to 9mg. I started off with 18 and that was too much, especially for sub-ohm vaping. I hope I can cut it down to 3 fairly quickly and then go on with 0mg liquids.
The intention is to break even the vaping habit after the physical addiction is gone. From what I've seen and read, it shouldn't be as hard as quitting tobacco.

Just this morning, my Vaporesso Target Pro arrived in the mail, together with the Vaporesso ORC tank and 16 different e-liquids.
I have to say, I was a little bit scared about it because the Target is a sub-ohm device. I tried the Plato's sub-ohm coil and it was ridiculously hot, even at 30W. I tried it a couple times and even resorted to a home made little hose I attached to it so the vapor had the chance to cool down before it reaches my mouth. Even then, it was just too much, emptied my tank back in the bottle and went back to the 1.6Ohm coils. I had absolutely no idea how all these people were blowing such incredible clouds with 600°F TC devices.
Now that I tried the Target, my fears have gone. Sure, the vape is a little warmer but it's not ridiculously hot, it's nice.
I've also read a lot of reviews by people saying the vape of the Target is 'dry' and even burnt, can't say I have any of that. Even some people saying that the CCELL or ceramic coils do not work well with high VG juices (I'm getting some sinus problems and extremely dry throat from PG), none of that. It all works very, very well.

Great, Man! What a post... or two :)

I'm not sure about your theory ordering from America, but maybe you are onto something.

DIY is the way forward. Actually, that makes it sound like we have a choice. Choice is a word I would not use once the tobacco companies start locking out everyone else and shafting us all on the price of 10ml.

If I can make one recommendation.
Buy a litre (or 500ml) of Nicotine base by next spring. Even if you never use it, it'll never be for sale ever again and protects you against a total apocalypse.

It's not a theory, I'm moving out of the UK, far far away to the sunny Caribbean. So I'm much more likely going to order from the US than from the UK.
But yeah, DIY is something I'm interested in, as soon as I figure out what type of tastes/ratios/nicotine work well for me.
