Hey all,
I'm hoping to pick the brain of some of you out there. I have been vaping for about a year now. I had v2 stuff before. Now I have a provari and I really like it. I use boge cartomizers mostly and am happy with them. My question is this. What is the difference between using a 3ohm carto @ 4.75volts making 7.52 watts or using a 2.4ohm at 4.25volts making 7.53watts ... so on and so forth. Is there any reason to vape at higher voltage if the wattage is the same. I do enjoy say vaping my menthol at a higher total watts than I do my fruit type flavors but is there any benefit to using higher ohm carts and turning up your voltage if you are achieving the same cartomizer watts?

Thanks a bunch!

I wondered the same thing for a long time, then I read a thread that explained it nicely. Unfortunately I don't know where it is anymore.

Anyway, 7.5 watts is 7.5 watts, true. But in order to get to a higher resistance given the same guage wire, that wire needs to be longer. Longer coil wire = more surface area to vaporize your juice.

Also there is a difference in amps. A lower ohm carto draws more amps to achieve the same wattage. I'm no expert, I just learned this by playing with a ohms law calculator. Your 2.4 ohm carto would be drawling 1.77 amps and your 3 ohm would be drawing 1.58 amps. Now as far as what that means.... I dunno. I would think it would mean a lower ohm carto would drain your battery faster. Correct me if i'm wrong.
