Ive been vaping for a fair few months now and feel ready to move up from the ego and nova set up im using at the moment ...

Im looking into mech mods as they seem farmore durable and im damn good at breaking things .

My main question is .. would a nova / protank or x8 cartkniser work well on a mech mod and if so what sort of ohm atties would be best

Thanks in advance

joel .

Yes, all the coils work on a mech.

A mech is a 3.7 volt (average) e-cig. So select coils appropriate for that. Like 2.0 ish ohms. Some may go as low as 1.5. Others 2.3 but it varies by deliver-device (coil) and preference. The higher gauge coil wire often used with rebuildables require even more watts (lower ohms).

Get/use good IMR batteries. They are high-drain and safer chem.

The voltage will vary from full charge (4.2 v) to cut off voltage (about 3.5...depends on where you stop).

I'd suggest a multi-meter so you can check the voltage and other things (ohms, etc.)

With any mech the thing to keep in mind is no voltage regulation. When you start with a fresh batt you will have the ability to rock it 2 ohms easily but when the batter starts tapering off the vape quality will taper as well. Most people seem to run low ohms for this reason when using a mech. Somewhere around 1.3-1.5 works well unless you want to get into the whole sub ohm thing. So yes you can use the PT or nova's on a mech if you choose to do so.

You could always go with an 18650 mech mod, a kick (or similar device) and an 18500/18490 battery (IMR of course)

Here is a simple Bolt in 18500 "shorty" mode with a 18350 and a kick in it...vapes AWESOME at 6.5 watts

Size comparison with a MVP2

I usually use my mech with my .5 ohm builds, just something addicting about the juicy vape at the 30 what range. Do recommend using a kick when first starting out, the evolv kick 2 is the best out. Accepts builds from .5-3 ohms and is adjustable 5-15 watts. Makes for a great consistent vape. Also allows you to work your way into builds if that is the direction you are looking to go. Just make sure you have good knowledge about battery amp limits, understand ohms law and have an ohm meter and volt meter so that you can check your batteries and builds out.

I should add that using a fuse is not a bad idea, particularly when dealing in the ohms/watts ranges for stock coils as they are easily within operating range of a fuse.

Check for VapeSafe fuses, 2 cent fuse, etc. Make sure they fit in the mech with the battery. If you use a kick or such, they already have short protection as they are active circuitry and a fuse is probably redundant (although possible).

Thanks for all the replies and help ..

Ive already got a multimeter to check batteries and ohms etc.

So from what i gather any tank system will work on a mech but usually the lower the ohms are in the atty the better the vape experience .. from what i gather then whatever tank set up i have at the moment on an ego battery it will provide pretty much the same experience as the ego on the mech as their both 3.7 v .

My shopping list so far is

A kamry kts mech .
A charger .
18350 imr battery.
And then either a x8 cartomiser tank (or similar tank system)

Or

A protank 2 / i clear 30 s.

A penny fuse

What do we think will work best with the kamry ?

Thanks
