Hello all,

I'm currently a smokeless tobacco user, and have been for over 20 years. My brother, who was a smoker, is now 2 weeks smoke free using an e-cig. I've thought for a while that this might be a good alternative for me to quit.

I decided that I'd prefer a pipe, however. Since I'm new to this world, and frankly overwhelmed with info, I wanted to get a good kit. I thought I'd try to get more information from you folks.

I went with the E-Pipe DSE 618. It had good reviews on AquaVapor; much better than I'd been seeing about the 601. But like I said, I'm very new to this, and would appreciate any tips, tricks, or precautions that ya'll could pass on to me.

I look forward to getting my pipe, and to finally being tobacco free!

Welcome to ya Birddog. I don't know much about the 618 but be sure to let us know your thoughts. You will find some good guys in here that are willing to help. So, don't be afraid to ask any question. I'm sure someone can give you an answer. And don't worry. If you can't find a pipe kit you like, heck just make your own. That what a lot of us do.

What does a drip tip do, and where does one find a diagram describing the different parts? What on earth is an RBA?

I'm making my way through the pipe talk thread, but from a beginners' prospective, too many abbreviations that I don't understand, or where to start on a mod. It's frustrating, because I've already seen several mods there that I love, and would like to make!

An RBA is a rebuildable atomizer; the coil and wick are user replaceable once they become clogged or otherwise fail.

A drip tip is the removable mouthpiece on an atomizer. In this case, it's removed, e-liquid is dripped down into the RBA to saturate the wick, the drip tip is replaces, and vaping nirvana begins :)

An RDA is a rebuildable dripping atomizer. Generally speaking, they aren't much different from an RBA. The wick is usually a lot smaller and there's very little room for e-liquid; usually only a couple of drops at a time.
