Hi everyone, my name is Rando, (not my real name. Sorry), and I am kinda new to vaping with an APV. I was just wondering if I could get some help. So I have a ZMAX mini from Smok with an 18350 battery and a Spartan tank from Horizon. Most of the sites I've looked at say that this is a Sub Ohm tank. My concern is that a lot of forums I've read all say that you shouldn't use an 18350 battery when Sub-Ohming. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Rando Fawkes. Glad to have you here!:)

Most 18350 batteries do not have high enough CDR (amps) to vape subΩ.

The chip in the ZMAX Mini has a 4 amp limitation.
  • Error codes: LOR (Lower resistance indication)
  • If the resistance is below 1.2ohm, the display will show "Low Load".

Thank you everyone. Just checked my coil and I guess it's a 2ohm coil. Haha guess I should have checked that first. I just wanted to make sure so I didn't run into any issues. If I wanted to start using sub ohm, could I just put a lower resistance coil in my Spartan tank? Obviously not with my current MOd. Also, which MOD(s) would y'all recommend for when I do start?

If you don't want to go below .5 ohms, 40 watts will do nicely. The Innokin Coolfire is a good choice in that range. It is often bundled with the Innokin iSub G tank, using .5 ohm coils, which I also recommend. The iStick 40TC and the Evic VT or VTC would do as well. If you want to go lower than .5ish, start thinking the Sigelei or Snow WOlf 75s. Or go bigger if you like.
