Hello, I'm brand new to these forums but I've been vaping for about 3 years now.

I've been using a Joyetech eGo One (1100 mha) battery along with a Kangertech Subtank Nano for the last several months, and last week I decided to buy another battery because it seemed like the current one was nearing the end of it's life. I bought a Joyetech eGo One Starter Kit (this time I bought the 2200mah model), and continued to use my Kangertech Subtank Nano with the eGo One battery and everything seemed to be working great until today. I pulled out my e-cig to start vaping, and when I pressed the fire button nothing happened the first couple of times. I checked to make sure everything was secure, which it was, and pushed the button 2 more times and still nothing...then on the 3rd push, it started working and I was relieved. Then a few hours later I pulled out my device again, and nothing was happening when I hit the fire button again. I noticed the battery light indicator wasn't working either, so I figured it just needed a charge and I plugged it in to the charger that I received with the starter kit when I got home tonight. After I let it charge for little while, I wanted to vape so I unplugged it from the charger and began to screw on my Subtank Nano and once it was close to being fully attached, it began to make a loud hissing noise. It sounded similar to the noise you hear when you're screwing on a nitrous tank to a paintball gun. I quickly unscrewed the subtank nano and the noise stopped, and I noticed what smelled like something burning.

I thought maybe the fire button was stuck, but I checked thoroughly and it was not. So I thought maybe there was something wrong with the subtank nano perhaps. I have a spare subtank nano which I had just recently cleaned, so I decided to try attaching that one instead. And when I was just about finished screwing it on, it began to make the same loud hissing/crackling noise as if I were holding down the button and already vaping, and then suddenly there was a very loud pop and it looked like liquid or something shot out of the mouthpiece so I immediately unscrewed the subtank nano before anything else happened. There was a definite burnt smell afterwards again. So obviously I'm done trying to get it working at this point. And now I'm stuck trying to figure out where to go from here. I have no idea what happened, everything was working great until this afternoon when suddenly it appears my battery began malfunctioning. I still have my old eGo One (1100 mah) battery, and I attached my subtank nano to it and it still works fine, so the problem is clearly the new battery (2200 mah) that I got in the starter kit. I ordered the kit from an online vendor (not sure if I'm supposed to mention names or not), so I assume I should just contact them and tell them what happened and then ask for a replacement? I've never encountered any problems in my 3 years of vaping before, so any advice/suggestions/information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would definitely contact the vendor. Just from the description it sounds like it was auto firing. ECF does have a "reviews" section for issues with vendors but you MUST go through proper normal attempts to resolve the issue BEFORE you can post in that section. The first step is to contact the vendor (do it in writing), and from what I've read most of the vendors will work with you to some extent.

Good luck.

First question. Is the button on the 2200mah model clickey? If yes, sounds like a chip malfunction(auto firing) and I would sudjest returning it.

If the button has no "click" feel to it, it may have ben damaged by pressing the button to hard and causing it to auto fire.

Yes, it definitely still makes a distinct clicking sound when I push it and the button doesn't appear to be stuck in any way.

I just submitted a request for a replacement on the vendor's site, so hopefully they'll come through and send me a new one. I've been vaping for awhile but I'm still a bit of a rookie so I wasn't really sure what the exact problem was. I knew it had something to do with the battery, and once some of you mentioned autofiring that made perfect sense. Thanks to all of you for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

If the button has no "click" feel to it, it may have ben damaged by pressing the button to hard and causing it to auto fire.

This is exactly what happened to mine after taking it with me to run some errands. I have the Mega Version 2300 or 2600mah. It still seems to be working fine but the click feel is completely gone. It's bad enough we can't see that dismal little light as it is to tell us that it's on, but now I literally have to hit the fire button to see if it's on if I'm driving on a bright sunny day.

It doesn't click at all anymore, but it rattles the same as ever still.

Sounds like you accidentally received a defective battery. Contact the vendor for refund or replacement.
