Hey everyone. Christmas is around the corner and my girlfriend is wanting a vaporizer. She hates to smoke and I figure why not go this route? I love cigars and love to smoke them while I'm driving so I may eventually get one but she's first. I don't know where to start. Is there a basic kit that I can buy that includes everything we need to start? I'd like to get into all the differenta aspects eventually here on the forum but let's start slow. She loves colors or anything decorative so anything in that area would be best. But of course quality is always needed. Any helpful advice, tips, tricks or information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

1100 ego's.....maybe a variable voltage one (VV) such as a "twist" or a "spinner". Buy two eEgo's type batteries. One can be charging while one is in use.
The higher the number (IE: 450, 650, 900, 1100......the longer the battery will last bwefore it needs recharging.

Evods are a good starter "topper" or "jucie delivery system"

The batteries from ITaste (Innoken) are really well received and are VV. They are a better quality for starter batteries IMHO..

Ego batteries are a great start. I started on slim batteries and was quickly disappointed across all boards. I'd recommend a first time setup like this...

-Ego battery (preferably an Ego-C Upgrade 650 mah or higher) at least 2 so you can be using one while the other charges. (Don't forget a charger)
-Decent Clearomizer (like the Kanger T2 or T3S)
-Decent juice (Taste is subjective so begin the journey!)

You should be able to find a starter kit that includes these things plus accessories for fairly cheap and it should be a great beginners setup.

i started with an ego kit from roarvapor the starter kit was 18$ and even came with a free nic juic and a free 0nic i have not touched a cig sence the day i got it in the mail :) loving it

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 2 Days, 1 hour, 12 minutes and 46 seconds (16 days). I have saved $173.19 by not smoking 561 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 22 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 11/28/2013 7:00 AM

Welcome to ECF. I hope you decide to follow in her footsteps. Lotsa girls like pink and petite. Perhaps two or more pink mini eGo batteries? They can coordinate em with their outfits, purses, and whatnot.:)

Yes, two batteries. One to use while the other is charging.

I do recommend something at least VV. Spinners can be a good option there, although the Itazte VV3 adds nearly all the feature set of bigger mods, in a small package. (That of course comes with a smaller mAh rating.) But it's a well made device, easy to "master", and, well, small :)

Evods on top are a good choice, although the T3S (or MT3S if you like the metal jacket) holds more juice and is just as easy to use and maintain.

Juice is important. Nic level will have to be adjusted to her needs, so don't get gallons off the top :) Same with flavor - an assortment of smaller sizes in different flavors would make sense. Or, if there's a B&M handy, many have tasting bars that can help to narrow the range.

Um, well, yeah, sorta... :)

This is a decent starter package: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

I'd suggest getting the Spinners, in the 1300 mAh size, and maybe a T3 for a bottom coil and an Iclear for a top coil. They do vape differently, so it's nice to try both so you can make an informed decision on what you like. And get some extra heads / coils for whatever toppers you get, as they do "wear out". (There are ways to extend their service life, but...)

Starting out can be... tense? Not knowing if you're going to like vaping and stay with it, the tendency is to go cheap. But go too cheap, and the experience could well be un-satisfying.

And run down a juice sampler, or, if a B&M is handy, go in and sample several flavors to narrow that down. Nic level will depend on your cig habit, but many start at 18 mg. (I was a pretty heavy smoker, and 18 left me wanting, 24 turned the corner. YMMV.)

VV - like the Spinner - lets you tune the vape to your tastes. VW, as found in many mods, in the MVP2 and the VV3, is often more convenient, but really just an enhancement.

Having two (or more) of everything is insurance against hardware failure.

Interesting. I think the general consensus that I've seen on this board is to start with eGo Batteries. A lot of people, myself included, like the Joyetech eGo C Batteries. There are a few variations: eGo C, eGo C Upgrade, eGo C Twist, and eGo C Upgrade USB (say that five times fast...) The eGo C is constant volt, the eGo C Upgrade allows you to switch to vary-volt mode and will the do the highest voltage possible with charge until it gets back down to constant voltage, the eGo C Twist allows you to choose your voltage with a dial on the bottom, and the eGo C Upgrade USB is identical to the Upgrade with the exception that it charges by a USB connection on the bottom in a Pass Through style.

I have two of the 650mah eGo C Upgrade USBs. Very reliable. You can use them as a normal battery or experiment with higher voltages a little. The charging is much nicer. They come in pink as well...

For a clearomizer/tank/cartomizer/etc, I would just say get a ProTank 2 Mini. They work great. Bottom Coils are the rave right now, easily washable, and have nice quality. Also inexpensive and tons of replacement coils and parts out there. I would get a couple of those.

I still use my eGo's with a ProTank 2 mini for a little stealthvape setup. ProTank 2 Minis are still my favorite right now anyways...

Juice. That is a big personal choice. If there isn't a great local shop around you, then I would look into one of the more reviewed ones. I use virginvapor.com if that's any help.

I believe that's what I'll start her off with DavidOck. I'm more of a get bored and smoke kind of person. Do they make flavors with no nicotine?

Yeah, plus one for David's suggestion of: Vision/Spinner Combo. That's the starter I wish I'd found before thrashing through Blu and one other I forget but it was a 510 set up. It's the kind of thing I'm using now (though I have my eye on an advanced one... maybe that'll be my one year anniversary buy? :) ).

If I were buying now, I'd say two Vision Spinner batteries and Kanger EVOD clearos. I was using Vision eGo Clearomizers 2.0 (as MVP calls them on their website) and they're nice but I tried an EVOD recently and love it. I'm switching.

And, yes, just about every juice supplier has a 0 nic option. You can get pretty much every e-liquid there is made with zero nicotine.
