Hey all,

I've been lurking for a bit, this place is a great source of information. I figure I should start participating/contributing since I've gotten so much from all of you awesome people.

I started vaping about 4 months ago, casually at first, after smoking analogs for the better part of 15 years. It took me a bit to switch to vaping exclusively, but I'm super glad I did.

I've been through a few setups and finally settled on a few combinations that serve different purposes. My main rig is a Sigelei Z-max with either a ProTank2 (that has been rebuilt a few times now) or a SmokTech DCT carto in a generic tank (because it works better for a few liquids I like). My backup rig is a eGo-v1 900mAh Variable Voltage passthrough with one of the same tanks. As a fallback, I have a pair of eGo style 650mAh non-vv batteries which are the ones I started on.

The hobby aspect is a big part of my interest, so I do a lot of experimenting with rebuilding my ProTanks. I'm going to be ordering some kanthal and a few wicking materials to try to find something that really works for me. The stock coils and wicks are kind of lackluster in their performance to me.

Anyhow, I'll try to stay active and share my experiences. Hopefully I can help someone else out the way I've been helped.

Greetings Catherium, welcome to the forum. Congrats on quitting smoking. It took me several weeks before I went 100% vape-0% tobacco, but i'm so glad I did.

Yes, me too! I was pretty overwhelmed by the DIY stuff at first, but now I've got half a work table covered in devices, tools and parts. Building coils and tinkering with stuff is a lot of fun.
