Hey hows everybody doing? I i just joined the site. Initially im looking for some advice on what my next vape should be, but i think ill stick around for the long haul. ive been vaping for about a year on, and mostly off, and ive decided to take it seriously now. I have familiarized my self with some of the basic terms, names and brands but im very far from how much i want to know.

Im currently using a ego-c (the large battery, non-variable one with the mini usb charging port) which is fairly decent in my mind. my biggest issues with my ego-c are:
1) the lack of a variable adjustment, and
2) the awkward length, and trying to carry it assembled in my pocket without it falling over and bending across my leg as i walk/sit.
3) more durable, as i work construction

Ive been looking into getting away from the pen style vapes, and possibly getting into a box type. one model that has caught my eye is the Innokin VTR. I love the compact/short design. so basically im wondering, is the VTR, and its special tanks, a worthy investment? is the something similar that is better or more versatile? ive also looked at vapes like the MVP, but those don't help with portability like the VTR does.

Also, if possible, where would be a good place to order your suggestion online?

Thanks for reading and any input provided, happy vaping!

Have you looked at the istick? Great little device.
Ive seen it but haven't looks too closely at it. its defiantly an option. it does have basically any feature i would want.

My only issue is the length, which i know is going to be hard to avoid. i just have this constant fear that im going to snap a tank off in my pocket, maybe im just over-thinking, but i did have a close call with my ego-c while working on site. it bent to the point that the top part with the button and threads, popped out of the body. i thought it was ruined, but i did manage to put it back together, and it still works.

im still going to keep this in mind, its still a huge upgrade and its about 3/4 inch shorter, and almost double the battery size. its even pretty cheap. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a VTR and as most people will say it is pretty heavy. Not sure how it would feel in a pocket out and about but it probably wouldn't break or anything from just sitting on it. The iclear 30s tank that it comes with is ok, not the best flavor in the world but better than your standard iclear 16's and such. I've had mine for about 6 weeks now and havent had any issues with it. There are other tanks that fit it. If you google "tanks that fit into vtr" you will be able to see which ones do without having to use the included adapter. They sell a belt holster as well so maybe that would work for you. Good Luck!

There's also this base for making your tube mod more compact:

Weight isnt a huge issue, but definatly something to keep in mind. ill look into what other tanks fit it too.

Okay so that is like exactly what i had in mind. See i was thinking about something like that, didn't realise they actually made something like that. i was thinking about trying to make a transition piece like that, but id probably just break something. do they make one that would fit a 510 thread? where would be a good place to buy one? my battery is quite a bit longer then my tank so that might be a problem but its defiantly a step in the right direction. super helpful.

The VTR doesn't exactly scream portability. The MVP or istick would be better choices around $35.

Check out the Egrip. Only drawback is you have to use the proprietary atomizer, but it gets good reviews:

That egrip looks pretty sweet! that would be almost ideal, if i could easily change flavours and such. ill be looking into that one a bit more for sure, thanks

It is a 510 thread; (actually it's 510-only - no eGo thread). I've only seen it come out on fasttech maybe a month ago; it's an obvious thingy that I'm sure somebody else has made before, but it's not something you see around the place.

the more i look at this, the more confused i get. i can see how my ego-c would thread on, but i don't see how my atomizers would. my atomizers have the threaded part further up towards the tank and don't stick out. this IGNITION base seams like it needs the atomizers threads to be exposed. that being said, could probably get an adapter/extension that i could use between them to make it work. what would you recommend?

also, if i where to get a mod/battery that wasn't a pen type, this probably wouldn't work at all. as well as using wider tanks would be out of the question..... i wish i could just have one in my hand and test it out. so many issues to over-think here!

the mukey base doesn't use the 510 or eGo threads though; looks like it uses M21x1 threading; so it should work with any mod compatible with the vamo3 which has M21x1 male thread up to the center pin.

Defiantly an interesting unit also. too bad the design would till require the atomizer to attach on top of it. it would probably suffice, but if i was going to settle on something like that, id probably just get the MVP or iStick instead.

That means you are using eGo threaded tanks,! Which I recommend for new vapers; the eGo thread gives less confusing problems than the more common 510 thread.

But anyway to fit your eGo threaded tanks onto the more common 510 threaded devices you get one of these common 510-to-510/eGo adapters:

Similar concept plus it's 510/eGo threaded, but the size is for 14mm size ego batteries
Dimensions us | metric
Depth 15.9 mm
Height 20.3 mm
Width 32.9 mm
Product Weight 21 g

that's just perfect for ego type batteries.

the 'ignition' base would fit the common 18650 mods which are more like 22mm diameter.
Plus the ignition base has a screw you can see in the picture which I believe allows you to adjust so when you screw on the mod, if the fire button ends up in an awkward place, you make an adjustment with that screw.

I just got the Kato Square Box Mod. It seems very durable and pocket friendly so far. It's a little heavy. If I had known about the "Ignition" I would have probably went that route, even though my Nemesis wouldn't look as good in it. From the looks, I think the Kato Square Box Mod would be much more durable and it holds a 650 without being in the way of the drip tip.

So basically, if i decide to stick with my current system or even switch up to a eGo-v v4 or some other pen type. im probably better off with the IGNITION, and one of those 510 to 510/ego adapters? maybe pick up a Ego beauty ring so it doesn't look so goofy? seams doable and reasonably affordable,

Do you guys think its worth all the little parts and such or am i just being a little too picky here? hahahhaha Im not against changing out my entire kit, and starting from scratch, but if i do this its going to be a little harder to change later. should i just go with something completely different? i don't know, ill keep thinking way too hard about it for a little bit i guess hahha

I was actually looking at that one at my local vape shop. i wanted to get my hands on the VTR and see how it felt. i noticed the Kato box and wanted to check it out also. i never got a chance to check either though. the place was swarming with people, and i didn't really want to be "that guy" that asks a billion questions and keeps everybody waiting hahah. maybe tomorrow ill check it out.

I hunted around and hunted around and read reviews and finally settled on the iStick and Nautilus Mini. I've had it for 2 days and been loving it so far.
