SoCal, baby!
Hello everyone :)

I'm new to the site, though I have been coming here for months for info and reviews. Been vaping about 2 years now and almost 100% tobacco-free. I live in Socal, work at a gardening supply store, and keep to myself most of the time and take care of my wife and baby.

I was an early-starting smoker, holding onto my own smokes (not just snaking them from my fam) since i was 10, so right about 1980-ish. Pack-a-day for 20+ years before I decided to start cutting down with the intention of making it easier on myself when I do stop, and not put too much pressure on myself while doing so. First, it was dropping to only one pack a day, then cutting out a few "boredom smokes" through the day, and so on. Within a couple years I was at only half a pack a day and my wife came into my life. I started working more at reducing smoking while with her, and when I moved back to my home town, I was introduced to vaping by a friend that works at a local chain vape shop. He would always have the latest vape gear as soon as they came out and would pass on his barely-used stuff to me for car parts or work, or just because :)

I started with the simple point & click Ego-C/Twist and plowed through a variety of tips and batteries (I'm clumsy and easily frustrated by entry-level equipment) before stepping up to a Lambo. though i hated the size, I quickly got over it because it worked much better. At this point I was down to about 4 smokes a day and had a baby on the way, so I wanted to reduce even more and maybe even be tobacco-free when the baby arrived. The Lambo worked well for a bit but the center contact post eventually bent and broke and off I went to a 2nd-hand Sigelei V3 flathead. It worked real well, but it would occasionally not work at all and as with the others, I started to get frustrated. Passed it on to my sister (one of the many people I have gotten onto vaping and off smokes) and bought an iTazte SVD + a few iClear 30s from my friend's shop hoping it would be better. It had firing issues also and was quite the light saber....a few comments from coworkers and I was ready to finally graduate to a real mod and RDA.

Recently I bought a Wooliston (Magneto clone), a Private V2 clone, and a Nimbus clone and had my friend build it and WOW what a difference! I have smoked 2 ciggs in 3 days and once I worked the bugs out, I'm having the absolute best vaping experience so far. I think i finally am at a point where I can drop tobacco entirely and thanks to ECF, I have a pretty good grasp on what mechanically is happening with my vaping and am pretty much free of mechanical issues.

Hope to interact with you all and learn lots more here :)

between here and there
Welcome to ecf. And congrats. Both on kicking those stinkies to the curb and on becoming a new father. I am glad you have friends that can help you. Ecigs have so many options these days it can be overhelming, but you sound like you are doing great.

Glad to have you. Stick around, make new friends and have a good time.

:)
