So ive been looking around, reading different posts and am trying to find the best thing for me. ive stumbled upon some thigns that i think are good finds but of course want professional opinions:

Joye 510-T Starter Kit

and

510 PCC KIT

Could experienced people check these out and see if they're well suited for a beginner? Pros, cons, and all that. Or even put in your own suggestions.

Preferences are:
Manual Battery
lasting battery life

And im still a little unclear as to what the atomizer does. Could someone give a little description?

Both are OK to start with but they do not have very big batteries so will need constant charging.

It really depends how heavy you will vape , for me a 800Mah battery with standard res cartos last me a day and then some.

The atomizer is just a resistance coil that is heated up by the battery . The e-liquid is brought close to the hot coil by the wicking material an causes it to evaporate .

The small batteries in the kit you linked will definitely need frequent charging. When trying to decide for myself what to get I ended up getting both a kit similar to yours and an eGo kit. I didn't think I would like the eGo because of the battery size, but I figured I could use it around the house where I wouldn't feel self conscious. I ended up giving away the smaller 510 kit and using the eGo instead. For me, it turned out that convenience was more important than appearances. In fact, I am now using something even bigger than the eGo, lol.

Another thing I would suggest is that you add some cartomizers to your order to try. Although I know many folks who use and like the tanks used with the 510-T and eGo-T, I've also known folks to have trouble with them for one reason or another. For me, cartomizers work much better.

Welcome to ECF. If you need the larger battery this might be a better buy for you. It uses replaceable batteries instead of the proprietary battery/tube combo which is common in most "ego" type devices. The kit also comes with 2.0 ohm cartos rather than the atty/cart system that many vendors offer with their kits. Remember to get some juice! :)

Yeah,..if your looking for a long lasting battery life these starter kits won't be the best. But as long as you keep cycling batteries through a charger and your ok with that then either kit would be ok. I personally like a big battery mod. Its still an ecig but with a much bigger battery. But this adds bulk to the unit, so its up to how much your gonna vape.

Well i go thru a pack in about 3/4 days. usually 3. and thanks for the definition.

would you be able to suggest anything that is around the same design as these?

In that case they might just get you thru the day .
I personally would go for a bigger mod but for your usage and maybe to start with it will be OK.
As tigerlily suggested try some cartomizers

I would start with a 1000 mAh eGo-T and use 2.0 standard resistance cartomizers, not the atomizers, with it. Here are the eGo-T 1000mAh manual batteries:https://www.cignot.com/product_p/egt-bat-al1.htm and eGo-T charger: https://www.cignot.com/product_p/ego-usb-chg.htm

OR Riva 1100 mAh kit with the same cartos. Here are the Riva batteries: KGO/EGO/Riva Rechargeable Battery 1100mAh for E-Cig - $19.95 and a Riva (KGO) charger: USB Charger for KGO and eGo Electronic Cigarette Battery - $4.95

BEST DEAL on cartos: Resurrectors...15 for $21.50 1.7 ohm (2.0 ohm) Crystal Clear Vaping They GIVE YOU drip tips of your choice with those cartos! :) Very good deal.

I would get AT LEAST 3-4 batteries and keep them in a rotation.

on edit I should add...those batteries will last an average vaper for most of a day. You may need to change it once. They last on average 1 hour per mAh.

When I started vaping a year ago the ego got me to quit smoking the day it arrived. I used joy 510 atomizers, but didn't like dripping all the time. Started using boge cartomizers and they worked great, but wanted more of a throat hit. Now I use a silver bullet with C.C.V. Mega LR 1.7 cartomizers from crystal clear vaping and they work awesome.

I never had any battery life issues with either. ego lasts about 6 to 8 hours and the 18650's I use with the silver bullet lasts all day. I don't know the time because I charge it every night.
