Yesterday, I picked up my first e-cig. It is a KangerTech EvoD.

I'm not a smoker, but a friend of mine told me about vaping and how much it has helped him stop his snacking urges to snack. He has the same e-cig and said it worked decent, so I picked one up and a bottle of watermelon juice from our local shop for $35 even. So far I am liking it, and it has helped. I don't know if I'm going to get into the modding and building of my own setup, but might be if I can do it on a mild budget later on.

The only thing that I'm slightly unsatisfied with about this EvoD is that the flavor is a little weak. Could that be a problem with the juice or is it the EvoD that just doesn't put out much flavor?

You will find that a ejuice will taste different from tank to tank (Ex. Aspire Nautilus vs Kanger Aero tank / KayFun lite plus vs Squape R[eloaded]). You will also find that there are ALOT of ejuice vendors. One vendor's watermelon ejuice 12mg 60pg/40vg, might taste totally different from another vendor's watermelon ejuice with 12mg 60pg/40vg. ...and yes to your initial question. The EvoD offers limited power/range, which can lead to poor flavor/vapor production in comparison to what is available in today's ecig market.

I'm using juice with no nicotine also. And what would you recommended as a better unit to start with that doesn't cost a whole lot. I have a budget to work with, but it's not a very big budget. I'm happy with the EvoD for right now since I'm still new to vaping, but will want to upgrade sooner or later.

just my opinion, but i noticed way better flavor out of an aspire k1 tank with bvc stock coils, bvc = bottom vertical coil, they are pretty cheap and will work with your EvoD battery, but they are even better with a little more voltage!
So I should look for the aspire k1 tank, and what brand bvc?

The Aspire Nautilus/ Atlantis, Beyond Vape's Silo tank and Kanger Aero Mega/sub-tank are some of the more popular clearomizers. Clearomizers are basically tank systems, in which you purchase replacement coils when needed (Ex. Kanger Aero Mega). There are also RTAs, which are tank systems that require the user to manually build their own coils and wick them as well (Ex. KayFun lite plus). There are good "clones" of the most popular RTAs and their available at a fraction of the cost. I don't have any "clone" RTAs at the moment, but others have said that a good "clone" works as well as the authentic ($15-$30). The better clearomizers usually cost between $20-$35.

EDIT: Listen to Terrance507. I haven't used that type of vape gear in a while, so I'm not familiar with the newest clearomizers and what new vapers like.
Indoor Smokers on YouTube is a great place to learn about low-mid priced vape gear.: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCShPX44-EC3HtvKohu3Ws4A

Welcome aboard
I'd suggest you check out flavors at your local vape shop. Most have vapor bars where you can sample juice before you buy it.
They had more flavors at the local cape shop, but I didn't have time to sample. My friend has the watermelon, so I knew it was good and just got it. I'll probably stop back there again and see what else I can find.

So this is what you recommend?

to ecf TexasRebel . Nice to meet you and glad you are here. Just a wonderful place to be. I would recommend getting some different juice. Here is a thread that I use to use all the time because there were some fantastic deals. These are recommended by ecf members.

Good luck to you and please, make yourself at home. :)
Thanks. I'll check it out later those afternoon. Don't have time right now. Funds are kind of tight for me right now, but I definitely plan on buying more juices.

Also it could be the flavor many try someother juice or online juices. Nicoticket is great very flavorful

Most folks vaping budget comes from quitting smoking, and that helps a lot.
I do know that I wasn't able to quit the smoking until I stepped up to the better tanks.
I wasn't a smoker before. I just started vaping to help cut down on snacking and to have good flavors in my mouth.

well atlantis is apparently not as good as the Kanger subtank.

From reviews.

Hmm, good setup... well... i would say... MVP 20 watt, e leaf I stick, or if your budget is around $100, get a 150 watt such as sigelei, IPV3,.
That way as you move up in the vaping world... youll never need anything more. (it would also cost a bit to get some decent batteries and a charger though, looking, at closer to 150 when all said and done.

The regular single coil EVOD doesn't produce a lot of vapor, but that vapor it does produce has more flavor than most. Way better than Aspire non-Nautilus BVCs and BDCs, IMHO. Also better than Protanks that use the same coil units, somehow. Even rebuildables only seem to make more flavor because there's so much more vapor, and other differences that are better for some juices than others.

Inhaling technique makes a big difference too. With an EVOD it does take about 3 good drags before the your senses are saturated and the full flavor kicks in. They're not trying to make the juices so strong that it gets too much after a while.

I've made several good drags on this evod and I can still barely taste anything. I've even tried different juices that my friends have.
