Hello!

I'm very new to vaping. I've used an E-cig before (just store bought) but I'm looking to buy my first real vaporizer.

I just have a couple of questions, any help is appreciated!

1. Is the atomizer interchangeable on the EGo? Meaning, could I use a clearomizer on this style of vape instead?

2. Do all atomizers and clearomizers have coils?
2.1 How often do they need to be replaced for moderate use?

3. What pieces on the EGo might need replacement at some point. (Things that "could" break and things that "need" to be replaced from time to time.

4. Are drip tips on all vapes or can they be?

5. Is the EGo vape one that you have to drip the liquid in it every time?

6. Also, is there a way to buy the parts separately and put them together yourself? Is there a list of things I would need?

Anyone that would like to be my Vape-BFF I'm taking applications!

Thanks!!

the atomizer is changeable on the ego, anything with ego threads (atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer) can fit on an ego battery. everything (cartomizer, clearomizer, atomizer) have coils because thats how you heat the liquid up. they are usually disposable so if the coil gets .... on them you usually just throw them out but there are ways of cleaning them just google it. drip tips can usual fit on almost anything. everything on the ego will need to be replaced if your referring to the ego-t the atomizer and the battery will most likely have to be replaced at some point. not all egos are all about dripping there is usualy a cartridge you fill up with liquid then you put in the atomizer but you could just use an empty cartridge or a drip tip and just drip into the atomizer. as for a list of thing you definately need a battery and a juice delivery system (atomizer/cartridge, cartomizer, clearomizer)

Yes, and most prefer clearos on eGo style batteries, but you can also use 510-threaded cartomizers.

2. Do all atomizers and clearomizers have coils? Technically yes, as far as replaceable coils, look at the Kanger MT3S, Evod, Vivi Nova, Kanger Protank.
2.1 How often do they need to be replaced for moderate use? That depends on the type of juice, the amount of care taken with them, etc, expect a new head monthly and be pleasantly surprised if/when they last longer. I'm running the same head on my Evod now for over a month with light and dark juices.

3. What pieces on the EGo might need replacement at some point. (Things that "could" break and things that "need" to be replaced from time to time. Eventually, everything, but I'd suggest having at least one spare battery, and multiple tanks/cartos/etc around.

4. Are drip tips on all vapes or can they be? Depends on the tank you're using, the Evod/Protank V1 have fixed tips, Vivi Novas have replaceable tips, cartos can take tips but don't absolutely need them.

5. Is the EGo vape one that you have to drip the liquid in it every time? No, unless you get a dripping atomizer, which, as a new vaper, I would avoid as they generally require recoiling to get decent performance in my experience.

6. Also, is there a way to buy the parts separately and put them together yourself? Is there a list of things I would need? There are starter kits, or you can just buy an eGo-style battery, compatible charger, and your delivery device of choice. Check Mt. Baker Vapor for a closeout on Joye eGo items, including all the above.

Anyone that would like to be my Vape-BFF I'm taking applications! Feel free to PM me any time you'd like once you get the required..fifteen posts I think it is to enable private messaging.

Thanks!! Welcome, and congrats on your first steps into vaping!

+1 on the Discount Vapers recommendation. That's a quality outfit with great customer service and high quality gear.

1. Yes. Anything specified as eGo compatible will work with other eGo devices, along with many 510 threaded devices, too.

2. Yes. The coil is a piece of "resistance wire" wrapped around a wicking medium, such as silica or cotton.

2.1 It depends on a number of variables, including the liquid used, the resistance and build quality of the unit itself and your actual use. Typically, most people get at least a week out of a coil before it needs replacement or rebuilding.

3. Disposable clearos need replacing after a few weeks to a few months of use, depending on build quality and use level. Batteries should also be considered "consumable" and will eventually need replacing. The tanks themselves--especially those featuring rebuildable or replaceable coils have indefinite lifespans, given appropriate care (cleaning, not tossing around, etc).

4. Many drip tips are fixed. For example, the Evod, MT3/S and Smok Aro have tips that don't come off. CE4 style and later clearos have removable drip tips. Some 510 style drip tips don't fit some eGo clearos, so be careful when shopping.

5. No, those are dripping atomizers. They are somewhat high maintenance, but many feel they're worth the trouble. The most commonly used eGo clearos have capacities ranging from around 1.4ml to as much as 6ml. You fill them and go.

6. Yes! Visit Discount Vapers and shop around. That's a great site and a respected vendor.

Also try Mt. Baker Vapors, MadVapes and LiteCigusa.

Welcome to ECF!

1. Is the atomizer interchangeable on the EGo? Meaning, could I use a clearomizer on this style of vape instead?
eGo refers to a type of thread used to connect a battery to a juice delivery device. Both batteries and juice delivery devices can have eGo threads.

2. Do all atomizers and clearomizers have coils?
Yes. The power from the battery heats the coils which is how the e-liquid (juice) is turned into vapor.

2.1 How often do they need to be replaced for moderate use?
That depends on how much you vape, what type of juice you use and whether or not you clean your coils. Some juices make the coils dirty very quickly, others not so much. If the coil is dirty it has to heat up the burned juice gunk on the coil in order to heat the juice. There are videos on YouTube that will show you how to clean all popular juice delivery devices.

3. What pieces on the EGo might need replacement at some point. (Things that "could" break and things that "need" to be replaced from time to time.
The coils are part of something called a head. At some point the coils can get too gunked up to clean or will break. You just unscrew the head and replace it with an inexpensive replacement. Some people rebuild their own heads with new coils but that it not something that anyone must do.

Batteries need to be recharged and replaced when they no longer hold a charge.

4. Are drip tips on all vapes or can they be?
Other than cartomizers and small tanks used on cig-alike batteries most juice delivery devices have drip tips. Some are built-in. Some not. Some use weird sizes so you can't use any sort of standard size drip tips that are sold separately.

5. Is the EGo vape one that you have to drip the liquid in it every time?
Dripping atomizers don't come with eGo threads. They come with 510 threads. All the batteries that come to mind that have eGo threading also have 510 threading which is the most common type of threading.

6. Also, is there a way to buy the parts separately and put them together yourself? Is there a list of things I would need?
A comprehensive shopping list would require us knowing what type of personal vaporizer you prefer. Some kits are great deals, some not so much.

Your cup will runneth over with ECF BFFs! People here are very kind and generous with help. That said, it is worth seeing if there is a decent brick and mortar store near where you live where you can try gear and sample juices. The list isn't totally comprehensive but you can find brick and mortars stores using Vape Search USA. You will probably pay a bit more but trying out things can save you the aggravation of buying something you really don't like.

Welcome, a lot great info here. I'm in my first month and have tried a bunch of different devices and methods based on the advice of many people here.

Just got my first carto tank from valley view vapes, and i am loving the flavor.

any way you'll be trying a bunch of stuff, some will work, some won't, it's the nature of the vape beast. A lot of this will be trial and error but this community will give you the right direction to go in.

Welcome again and Vape On!!
