Don't use too much wick. Let the ends touch the bottom of the juice well, but not lay in it. If you're doing horizontal coils, keep the area beneath the coil open. Make sure your coils are above your juice well. Your coils need to be placed directly in the path of your airflow.

I hope any of what I said helps. :)
Thanks!

I've been trimming the ends of the wicks flush to the sides of the base. I'm not 100% sure on the thickness of the wick I need. There is just too much information online to figure out what's up and down. I guess I just have to slowly learn like everyone else!

the wicking i just got down after wicking for a full day straight to get my tech down what i noticed was that i tooke organic cotton and if it pulled through my coil with easy and no tension at all then the wick is not big enough in circumference inside the coil to stop hot spots. So when i pull my wick through i should tug a little bit and my cotton bulges on both sides coming out then i snip both ends i pay attention to what end is thicker and tuck that under the coil and if you need to use the other side you can do that juice that bad boy up and fire it off. I would suggest just making sure your cotton has contact with you coil on the bottom and center. Cheers

You could try something like this. I've positioned my coils in the middle. I find that this build gives my wick better coverage.
I'll give that a try and let you know! I've also heard to make sure the coils were better placed between the posts. But from observing the wicks from when I first put them in and apply the juice, and when the charing starts, it seems it's always on the outside edge of the wicks closest to the walls.

I istick with a Aspire Nautilus mini is a popular choice, but if you might want to jump on the sub-ohm bandwagon then I would suggest the Kanger sub-tank mini. With the .5 coil you need a battery that came sub-ohm so the 20 watt Istick would not work you would need something like the 30 or 50 watt istick. Good luck.

Hes got a battery thats firing a .5 coil already. The Ego 1 is a sub ohm kit. Id imagine the ST would be nice for it so he could use factory coils or try out the rba deck. Aslong as he stays above .5 he wont need to replace anything besides the battery.

It doesn't take a lot to wick. Sometimes, less is more.
Thanks! Yeah that's about what I'm wicking at.

The problem is the wick seems to be darkening on one side.

Its always on the side closest to the wall.

Its 26g 7 wrap dual coil at .8 ohms. Been adjusting wattage between 15 and 25 or so trying to hit a good spot.

What I assume is happening is your coils are heating up your dripper's wall and its causing your wick to maintain heat for longer. Center those coils the next time you rebuild and it should fix it.

Wow that helped a lot! Wrapped some new coils and moved them center, rewicked, and no burning so fa. The coils are pretty sloppy as I was in a rush. Big difference in flavor. Still learning. So the problem Im seeing now is when placing the coils in the posts, do I do the under lead to the furthest? I have the upper lead going to the negatives and it doesnt look right and seems to be messing with the coil shape. Maybe thats why the coils arent looking as pretty?

I usually have my upper lead going into the positive post. I'm not sure if it matters that much. The only time of when it matters, that I can think of, is when your positive post hole is higher than your negative.
