Hola,

A little history first:

A few years ago a freind convinced me to try some mini vapes. They were ok, but the cartridge system didn't work for me, the batteries sucked, and I just didn't really stick with it and went back to smoking. I've been on a health kick the past year and decided to try vaping again after a couple more failed attempts to quit. I picked up an Aspire BDC starter kit at my local vape shop and it went well....until it didn't. The flavor and vape production would work, but then the coils would get hot the vapor production would slow down, and the wonderful flavors i would get with the 0mg nicotine juice in store just never translated to the real world. I would vape some on and off, but I was still a smoker. This week though I picked up some othe BVC replacement coils, gave my tank and drip tip a good cleaning, and it was a night and day difference. Flavor and vapor production was on point and everything Suffice it to say that my curiosity has been piqued again! My cigarette cravings are gone, but now I find myself wanting more. I've been reading and doing some resarch so now I'm considering picking up a Nautilus mini with some BVC coils and possibly some new batts.

Now for the questions:
Right now I've got 2x 1000mAh Ego-T batts. They work well enough, but shoudl I consider moving to something else? I like the size and form factor fo the Ego-Ts because they're still pocketable - albeit a bit long. They have a selectable voltage, but only "low" or "high" (I leave mine on the :"high") setting, so I have no idea what voltage they're actually running. Battery life indicators and some of the other features seem neat and would also be nice, but that's not a primary concern. What should I consider, or should I leave the battery question alone for now?

Second question: is the Nautilus mini really an upgrade over my current set up in terms of vapor production and flavor? I briefly played with a coworker's full size Nautilus and I like the user-selectable air intake and stuff. What else should I be aware of? What other options should I consider?

If your looking for more control and like the ego form factor, take a look at the Innokin itaste vv V3. It's VV/VW with battery voltage and an ohm meter as well as pass through (vape while charging). You could also look at it's big brother the MVP but it's a box mod. Same features but lasts for a couple days on a charge.

If you're already running BVC's on your tank, I think the only thing you'll gain is the adjustable air flow. If that's important, go for it.

Hi! :)

I've been running the small BVC coils in an Aspire clearo called "ET-S". It's working out really well. (I also had the CE4s type, but they were bad)

I bought the mini Nautilus before Aspire released the smaller BVC coils for the old BDC clearomisers.

There is no advantage to you upgrading to the mini Nautilus without upgrading your eGo-T batteries. That, I can say, without any doubt.

If you are serious about doing this right and have the cash I would strongly recommend a ProVari. Beyond that an MVP2.0 (101vape.com) would be another excellent choice. Both allow you to vary the power to the coil which allows you to fine tune the flavor and vapor based on the device you use (Aspire, etc.) and the ejuice. For a smaller form factor the Innokin v3 would also work, but has less battery life.

The problem with eGo style batteries is that the power output is seldom optimized for anything.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I took a look at the recommendations thus far:

The ProVari is a little spendy for me right now. The iTaste VV 3.0 or MVP2 are probably doable though.

The clearo I'm using looks exactly like an Aspire ET or ET-S. Not sure which.

The thing I've noticed now is that sometimes the juice seems to "spit" at me. It's not much, but every 10-15 puffs I'll get a tiny hit of hot juice right on the tip of my tongue. It's not enough to burn me or anything, but it's noticeable. I don't know if that's a tank issue, coil issue, or (likely) user error. I'll stop by my vape shop on my way back from lunch and take a look at these things in the store to get a feel for size/weight.

Congrats! I'm in the same boat. About 26 hours after my last cig. I purchased an Itaste SVD with a couple of Itaste 30 tanks and really enjoy having the variable voltage control. If I want a larger, more intense puff, I turn up the voltage. If I want to kick back for some flavor I turn the voltage down. Keep at it and don't be afraid to spend a few bucks to stay off the cigs.

What can I add?

When the Provari 3 comes out, I'm getting one (regardless of cost).

Out of the MVP and iTaste, I would always favour the MVP. Battery life and (importantly) ability to get near the 'top' of the power range. They look the same on paper (both variable watt devices up to 11w) but the MVP has the edge.

Neither is perfect. 13 minutes, if you are into the math.

In for a penny, in for a pound...

Stopped by my vape shop on the way back to work "just to look" and walked out with a new Nautilus mini, an MVP2, and a pack of replacement coils.

First impression: holy .... this is what I've been looking for.

Second impression: be careful about turning up the voltage and taking a big hit when you're loaded with 18mg juice. Damn near got myself sick on the way back to work. Flavor and vapor production are exactly what I'm looking for though. Goodbye cigarettes, helllooooooo vapor!
