Wish I had a solution for ya! PG can be very drying, but you're already drinking lots of water, which is what I've always heard is essential with vaping. I live in a really dry climate, and despite staying hydrated (perhaps overly so!) still have to have lip balm within reach at all times. There's literally no humidity here, so I'm just kinda stuck! Be interesting to see what pops up here.

KimShady I'm not very far from you on the map so I know what you mean about no humidity. I'm wondering if I go to a different PG/VG mix if it will help. Being new, all this information is still a bit confusing.

One of my juices is a 70/30 mix and does seem to dry my lips out a bit more than my 50/50 mixes do. Of course, it's not complete relief (yup, not too far from me at all so you know what I mean!), but any little bit helps. I swear I've been a lip balm addict since I moved here, but certainly a bit more with vaping!

I find myself wiping my lips all the time, the vapor leaves a bit of an oily residue, at least it feels kinda oily. Mainly I just try to make double-sure I got the mouthpiece wiped completely clean (it tends to drip from the mouthpiece when I'm refilling). My go-to for chapped lips has always been plain old Blistex, it heals but doesn't leave that horrible waxy feeling, though it does have that mentholatum smell-taste -- so I mainly use it just before going to bed.

I always use the lotion type of face tissue, to spare my poor nose, and I find that wiping my lips with that doesn't leave them as chapped feeling.

There's always the water-drinking, of course; it really does seem to help. And some people do find that a bit more VG is more to their liking, but I'm already accustomed to PG from my asthma inhaler, so PG doesn't seem to give me any real issues, other than just needing to drink more water.

Hey guys, WELCOME! I'm in Texas as well. I'm by no means an expert, only about a month and a half into this new lifestyle, but I do know ALL about the chapped lips and dryness in general. Everyone is different and how your body reacts to the change is going to vary from one person to the next, but my lips got REALLY chapped about 2 weeks in. I don't remember exactly when it got better, I just realized it was, but like I said, I'm only a month and a half in and it's NOWHERE near the problem it was at first. It's great that you're already taking the right steps (drinking plenty of water), I didn't do that at first and was so dehydrated I was getting sick! I also learned that I need more VG, I was @ the 70/30 PG/VG and man, that was NOT working for me. I'm vaping 50/50 now and don't get as dry, but also, my throat is feeling SO MUCH better. I also use Lypsyl lip balm, it's a beeswax type, daily as my lips are normally drier than normal, but it's got a minty-ness to it so it really helped sooth the chapped/burning feeling.

I hope that helps some. Good luck and congrats, if you're anything like me (and you're COMPLETELY off the analogs), you're probably already over the worst of it!

Haven't you guys in Texas been getting colder than normal weather? (rhetorical) That may be what's going on? Here in the Midwest winter usually means dryer air and chapped lips is one of the side effects.

Yea, it's been CRAZY here in TX! It was in the 80's one day and the next it was SNOWING! My bones don't do well with drastic changes and TX has really been getting them A LOT lately!

I've never heard of Lypsyl - I'll have to hunt some down. I do occasionally use some beeswax type stuff that works great, but it smells really weird. I try to only use that when no good looking people are around though (ha?).

Noticed you're in Denton...Man, I love Denton! My fave city in TX besides Austin!

LOL, this one doesn't smell bad, very nice minty smell. I found it at Walgreen's, but have seen it at Walmart as well. I'm actually just outside of Denton in a town called Ponder (of all places!). The only thing exciting about Ponder is Bonnie & Clyde robbing our bank lol!

This time of year is normally the worst for me. I'm a long-time Chapstick junkie to begin with, and the low humidity this season's been killing me.

Cococare cocoa butter lip balm and Burt's Bee's beeswax lip balm are the best, for me. I don't even bother with regular Chapstick anymore unless it's the moisturizing balm (the stuff in the blue tubes).

This is what it looks like, if that'll help. I've used about every brand under the sun for my lips (I have a bad habit of biting my lips too so my lips are often chapped/cracked.) and this for some reason works best for me.

Wow! Bonnie and Clyde were there! I just watched that movie again the other night, with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. It did not look like robbing banks was much fun. They spent most of their time in the car being shot at, or hiding out in falling down houses.

Thanks everyone! I'll hit the drug stores and look for some other lip balms. I have five different ones sitting in front of me but I'm desperate! I set the analogs down after the first draw from my e-cig. Lubbock as well as the rest of the country has had extreme temps this Winter. Maybe its a combination of everything. Hopefully, the dry, chapped lips will just go away!

Just thought I would update for anyone new to vaping that is experiencing severe chapped lips. My lips would get drier as I vaped so I knew it was vaping and not weather related. I drank A LOT of water and constantly reapplied lip moisturizer. After about 2 weeks the problem is not gone but is considerably better. I guess I just had to get used to the e-juice. ???
