New to vaping, and loving it!

Hi! I've been vaping now for a week and I'm loving it! I don't like to do anything without researching, and so I feel comfortable with my Joye 510, but will eventually upgrade to a tornado or eGo, unless something better comes around by the time I'm financial able to upgrade. I'm on my second bottle of juice, a chocolate flavor with 36mg of nicotine ("Oh .... I got a head rush!") with almost half a 30ml bottle of "Camel" left, and I'm using the PTB mod in my carts, after trying the blue foam for a few days.
I'm in Portland, OR, where the Att. General made a deal with two of the ecig companies to get them to voluntarily not sell their product unless it is approved by the FDA. There don't seem to be any suppliers of ecigs here, but I order from a place in Reno called Nicotine Nirvana, which has free shipping, and excellent prices.
I can already feel the difference in my breathing, my girlfriend can actually hang out with me now instead of having to flee from the stench of smoke, and she's commented that I don't seem to be wheezing in my sleep anymore. She is a little worried that she might be allergic to the PG, and I was wondering if anyone knows what the symptoms of allergies are. I would hate to have to quit something that seems to have so many more benefits over smoking. I tried the gum and hated it, couldn't do the patch because I still wanted to smoke, and I find that this is the best alternative. I just am sick of being sick, and I hope that this will be a good change.
I was also wondering where people are getting their banners that display how long they've been vaping, I'd love to have one of my own, because I don't think I'll be heading back to real cigs soon (I am not going to use the term analog, as a musician, I don't feel that it is an accurate term, but I don't mind if others use it.)

From what I'm reading, it doesn't seem like my lady is experiencing allergic reactions to PG or VG, so that's a good thing. I did read a thread about someone having tiny bumps, and they tried to post some pics, but I couldn't see them or go to the link they provided. From what other users responded, the bumps were small reddish bumps in rows, which makes me think that person has bed bugs. I worked in a group home where there was a bed bug infestation, and I would work overnights and wake up with rows of the nasty little bites on me. They are horrible bugs, and we had to get rid of everyone's furniture and freeze clean everything before we started to see a change. Even then we eventually moved everyone out of the house and into a new home, because the bed bugs were in the walls.
Just sharing a thought here because I still don't have enough posts to respond to the person directly.

Why does your girlfriend think she is allergic to PG? Did she break out in a rash, start sicking up, turn purple in the face, or what? And is she vaping too, or is it just you vaping?

Welcome to ECF, RevDave

Her lips became swollen. But she started to have swollen lips before I got my PV, so I didn't think it was the PG or VG (I'm not sure what the mix is in the liquid I'm vaping.) It's also heavy pollen season in Portland, the rains have stopped for the past couple of days and plants are humping like crazy. Today I woke up with a sore scratchy eye, and I know it's the pollen.

Welcome RevDave! Sounds like you're off to a great start. :)

At the bottom of this page there's a list of a bunch of "quit count" banners to choose from. Like they said, you can put it in your signature after you have 15 posts.

To be honest, I've never heard of someone having a VG allergy, although I'm sure it's happened to someone at some point. A small number of people have a PG allergy, which usually takes a mild form - itching, nausea, in rare occasions hives... but it seems to be uncommon.

I told her I'd look for the symptoms anyway, and I'm pretty sure it's not the PG, so that should be a relief to her. I went to the website you provided, and for some reason it's all html code on my computer. It could be that I have an older Pentium Mac, still running on 10.4.11, oh well.

I doubt that she is allergic to your vape. You would not exhale enough to really do it and if she got it before you started vaping there is your answer.
Swollen lips makes me think more of her lipstick or gloss, something she is eating or drinking, or even as you said , the pollen count this yr in the entire country is on the extreme numbers.
Pv and vg are used in so many things, everything from food to cosmetics to bath products, shampoo etc.
Allergies to it are rare.

She's allergic to a lot of things, or at least fears allergies, so she just wanted to make sure. I know she doesn't even buy shampoo with PG in it, so it was a concern, but I'm pretty sure that this is not a case of allergic response.

Well, good then, no problem w/the vaping. If you think it's bad in Oregon, you should see how bad it is down here in So.Cal. The pollen never freezes here. I lived in Oregon for 12 years. Grants Pass and Ashland were okay, but I loved La Grande -- lots of bears and moose and strong, handsome timber fallers, LOL. One more thing -- when I get juice in my mouth, my lips sting and swell up, so if your Lady has a problem on down the line, that could be it. It doesn't affect everyone like that, but I'm a natural redhead and have the ultra-sensitive skin we tend to have. Have fun finding your perfect eJuice, and happy vaping. :)

We'll be down in SoCal in August, I hope the pollen clears up by then.
