Hello all!

I have been a cigarette smoker for almost 16 years. I got up to about 1.5 PAD of Marlboro lights. One of my buddies vapes and really pushed me to try it. I've tried gum, patches and crappy e-cigs, so I was skeptical.

I went to the vape shop yesterday, still apprehensive. The guy behind the counter gave me a test rig and let me try some flavors. I was ok with the price and enjoying the juice/throat hit, so I gave it a go with the plan of tapering cigs over 3 months.

I got an ego/vivi combo with a nice peach 18mg juice.

I vaped it on the way home and really saw my craving get destroyed! I ended up throwing my analog cigs in the trash and have not smoked for 24 hours. I am excited. I'm in great shape, eat super healthy, etc...why the hell did I allow myself to be a heavy smoker? I look forward to getting my wind back!

I am honestly shocked at how well this is going!

I use a hockey forum a TON, so I want to be very active here to reinforce my healthy choice and spread the word.

Thanks and I look forward to being a valuable member of this forum.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Our story is so similar. On June 4th I went and got my first kit and I haven't smoked since. I love vaping, The first week was a lil tough but when I thought about a cig I just picked up my vapor. Now I don't even want one. I am feeling sooo much better too. I know its just gonna continue to get better. Best of luck to you.

Thanks and good luck to you as well. It's crazy how vaping changes the game. Going from smoker to non-smoker in an instant when I never thought it was possible blew my mind.

Congrats and welcome to ECF - wait until the hobby aspect kicks in (purchasing mods - doing diy juice - doing youtube reviews - starting a website to sell ecigs - opening a chain of 1000 brick and mortar stores - and then in the 2nd month going BIG!!!

Haha...I'm probably going to go nuts on it...I'm big into subcultures and love getting super involved in hobbies. I also like that the more into vaping I get, the further I get away from tobacco!

In this world of theres always something bigger, better, tastier.......
Welcome and hide your credit card from your vaping self!

My first setup was an ego/Phoenix raven tank. When it came in the mail, I still hadn't ordered any juice, so a friend of mine gave me a bottle of some unwanted, awful cherry flavored stuff from some company that I have still to this day not been able to find. Having never vaped anything before, I had no idea what "good juice" tasted like. Even though the juice wasn't the greatest, the 1/2 pack of analogs that was in my car stayed there for a week before I gave them away. Tomorrow will be two months smoke free for me. Congratulations to everyone who has had the courage to try and make the switch. I wish you all the best.

Just went down to Vaping Ape in hollywood. I got 3 new juices(Chimp berries and planet of the grapes from Vaping Monkey's and unicorn blood from fuzion). I stepped down from 18mg to 12 since I couldn't vape the 18 for very long with out getting strung out. I'm vaping the chimp berries and loving it right now!

Well, to be honest, my smoking habit was a little worse than normal. Between working full time and going to school, I would be lucky to get 2 hours of sleep per night during the week. The rest of the time I was smoking non-stop. I saw my health declining very rapidly. My lungs would fill up with so much fluid that I wouldn't be able to take a full breath, and I would have to utilize various breathing techniques to remove the fluid. On the mornings after I did get sleep, the stuff that I would cough up need not be described in detail. Since I started vaping, my health has improved significantly. I sleep better and have more energy during the day. My breathing has improved greatly, and I recently joined the company softball team. For a while I was still coughing up mucus in the mornings, and through process of elimination, I found out that this was caused by certain juices. I removed those juices from my rotation, and my mornings are hack-free. As much as smoking was killing me, I couldn't stop. Vaping has truly saved my life.

Congrats on being two months in! I'm almost 3 weeks in and loving it as well. Broke down after 2 weeks not smoking and tried a few cigs after a very stressful day and was surprised how gross they tasted after such little time not smoking :), I still have the other 17 sitting in my pack, and went straight back to vaping. I did have a few bad/weird vaping days where all my flavors were DISGUSTING in all my clearos and even when I dripped and inside my mouth was sore. I thought I might not be able to continue if that kept happening, but it passed!

I think this has to do with the richness of some of the flavors. Having had a 2.5 PAD habit, you can imagine that when I switched to vaping I vaped a lot. I mean, I never put my ego down. I noticed a few sores on the inside of my mouth within the first week, but they didn't last very long. I rinsed my mouth out with hydrogen peroxide a few times a day and that took care of it.

Congrats, I had the exact same experience...I went to the vape shop over my lunch hour at work, and bought a kit thinking I would use it to cut back my 1.5 habit. Little did I know, that once I got in my car I never touched a cigarette again. It has been 3 weeks from me, and I have dived right into the hobby. I have bought more "stuff" this last week than I want to admit, but it has been a good distraction. Plus, it won't take me more than another month to actually start to see the savings show.

My only recommendation would be to have a few other flavors on hand, even a tobacco one in case you do get cravings. I didn't have a craving until this weekend and glad I had some RY4 flavor on hand to curb the cravings.

Cheers man

I am honestly shocked at how well this is going!

I had the same feeling and the shock lasted for weeks! It started after experiencing how well I was able to handle that first major craving with my e-cig. I was convinced about a week later after having handled all my major triggers with my e-cig and not needing an analog. 6 months later, I'm still loving it.

The title of this thread is so true! Again , Different circumstances, same story- 25 year smoker, 1 to 2 packs a day (sometimes more if i was partying). Now I've been 2d,19h,46m with no desire for a 'analog' cigarette and i'm STOKED. My wife still smokes and when she comes near me it smells horrible. I cant believe i smelled like that all those years. Not stinking, 4000 less chems, and all the flavors i get to play with now.. Awsome!
