Hi everyone.

I just started vaping legitimately about two weeks about. My current set up is an EVOD Twist, 3.2v-4.8v. And I have a Kanger Protank 3.

1) When using my vape, I like a lot of flavor and a big cloud, but my vape doesn't really provide that. When I up the voltage on my atty to get a bigger cloud the flavor diminishes. I was recommended by somebody at a vape shop that I should keep my voltage setting between 3.6 and 4.0v to get the best flavor and a decent hit, otherwise, if I raised the setting above 4.0v it would burn my coil out too quickly. Is this entirely correct?

2.) At a different vape shop, they told me that I would have to get a modded atty in order to start dripping. Is this true? She told me I would have to get a rebuildable tank and start making my own coils, and I was wondering if someone could link me to another forum post or YouTube video explaining making my own coils.

3.) Lastly, I'm wanting to get a modded atty to step my game up more with vaping. I saw a Hades mod at one vape shop, and the lady there let me try her exact mod and allowed me to compare the juices with her atty and my atty and I noticed the different. However, while I'm super excited about switching to a better atty, I need to know if I need to purchase something BEFORE the atty in order to make the flavor better. She said my tank is perfectly fine for the mod, so I wanted to confirm this.

Thanks!!:)

1: most stuff is meant to work at around 3.7 volt; but your protank 3 uses dual coil, so it might need more; depends on the resistance of the coil mostly, and also on the eliquid.

2: in order to drip; you can get a 510 dripping atty.
Look for RBA and RDA;

3: the Hades is a mech mod; stay away from mech mods until you have experience.
atty is short for atomizer; it is the thing that goes on top the battery mod.

You might want to try a regulated mod like the MVP2; it could be your twist is just not powerfull enough for your dual coiled protank 3.

Thanks! Would it be too much of me to ask, since I'm relatively new to this, if you could help me to find a decent atomizer. And I believe I found a decent price for an MVP 2, but I'm not sure if the site is too reliable. The site is called All About Vapor.

Actually if you're really new, maybe not convinced you want to lay out that much cash, I'd actually recommend a different Innokin product, the iTaste vv/vw v3 -- it's a lot cheaper than the MVP2, but does everything the MVP2 does. It's a small, slim ego-type mod, though it's squared-off instead of round-bodied, which is a great feature -- it won't roll off of wherever you lay it down. But, even with its small size, it's a real powerhouse, with both variable voltage and variable wattage -- variable wattage is great when you're really new, because once you find the setting you like for a given juice, you can just leave it there instead of having to worry about changing the power setting to suit whatever atomizer is on top.

You can find them on eBay for around $30-$32, for the "Express" starter kit -- which means it comes without those dreadful iClear16 clearos, which completely suck. I made the mistake when I got my first one of ordering the full starter kit, with those clearos, and I've hated them everytime I've tried to use them.

try 101vapes
or look for one for about $40.

For the protank 3 check what your atomizer resistance is; there is a bit of a learning curve with vaping; your tank might also be flooding when you use it; sucking too hard on a tight draw tends to cause flooding.

hold the tip near your ear and press the button to listen for the sound.

I saw one of those at the vape store near my house and I thought it looked pretty rad!!! Good price for it, too. Definitely considering buying it!

And what are clearos?

clearo is short for clearomizer;
its means you can look at it to check if there is liquid in it.

Also, what exactly is an atomizer? Do I have one on my EVOD twist, pre-installed, or is it something seperate I would have to buy? If it's separate, how do I assemble it?

atomizer head. contains the coil which gets hot and vaporises the liquid

Oh! Okay. So the "coil" basically. Is it the thing you have to replace every week or so when it burns out?

You really shouldn't have to replace it every week. I vape quite a bit and am finding mine last a good 3 weeks at least. Occasionally I find I do need to rinse and then "dry burn" my coil (if it is like one of the above or a smok coil). You can find how to do that on you tube to get a longer life from your coils.

I quit cigs March 15th and haven't smoked since - and I smoked for 35 years. I think you will find adding variable wattage to your battery collection will aid in your vaping experience. As someone suggested, an inokin vv/vw itaste would do what you're looking for.

I am also a big fan of the Aspire Nautilus tanks for flavor. Their coil system seems superior. I've found that bottom coil clearomizers have much better flavor than top coil. I haven't used a dripper yet, but the Nautilus seems to be fulfilling my needs just fine.

I rarely go above 4.4 volts on any of my batteries or mods. Beyond that seems to produce a burnt taste. However, watts (9 to 12) seems to produce the better flavor for me.

New vaper here... Please excuse any ignorance.
I have read conflicting views on the lifespan of an atomizer; some say one to two weeks, others say a month or so. Also seen videos on YT that show you how to clean the atomizer so that you can extend the lifespan. Of course, I've also read varying opinions on this, as well: some say that you can clean it once and after that you should replace it. Others opine that you can clean them multiple times and make them last six months to a year.
Are these differences from the differences between the quality, make, and type of atomizer? Or are they from just different folks having different opinions?

how long an atomizer lasts between cleaning depends on how much you use it.

You can take a guesstimate at about 10ml of eliquid.
For some thick dark liquids that might be more like 3ml.
For unflavored light liquids it might be more like 30ml.

my coils last about 10 rewicks before burnout; then its in the pile of parts for recoiling later.

Okay. I was wondering about that one. lol
I'm assuming when you drip you put a couple drops of liquid in, and the atomizer doesn't really STORE the liquid, it just covers the coil, so you can drip liquid onto it. Is that correct? Are there any drippable atomizers you can recommend to me? Also, will I be able to drip with the MVP 2?

The igo-xxx are a popular dripper;
igo-w
igo-w3
igo-m

I do not have any drippers myself;
things to watch forL
the posts - better if the have holes to put the wire through;
phillip head screws are easier than slotted; I prefer knurled head for finger tightening with phillip head for optioally tightening.

Yes you can drip with the mvp2.

Try 30 gauge kanthal.

Or else 28 gauge.

Yes you can drip with the mvp 2 bit you also might want to try a rebuildable atomizer. The flavor is really great like dripping but it has a tank that holds the liquid so you don't have to constantly add it like dripping. The kayfun is a great rebuildable to start with and it offers great flavor and great vapor. It can be used with your mvp2 as well. It won't disapoint ! You would build your own coil to go into it just as you would a drip per but in my opinion it's more convient because of the tank and still you will get great flavor.

The protank 3 uses dual coils, they will get gummed up after a few tanks, so try 1.5 ohm the lower the ohms the better the vapor. I like my protank2 with 1.5 ohm single coils, I use t3s coils as they fit evods,t3s,and protank 1+2 that way I dont have to buy a bunch of different coils. also you vg/pg levels in the juice your vaping matters alot with the vapor production vg is better for vapor and pg usally carrys the flavor and throat hit. I like high vg mixes, but that also has its own problems because vg is thicker and will also gum up coils you can find a lot on youtube on how to dry burn your coils. Also save them bad ones, later when you have the time and know how you can rebuild them better than they come new.
