Hello all, just started vaping for few weeks, but the itaste clk with aspire natilus tank, already couldn't satisify me.
Just bought a new ibox with subtank.
But I still don't understand how to find my sweet spot on the watts and voltage with that 0.5ohm.
I am vaping with 24mg nicotine juice, but its just a few drops, then mix other flavors.
The subtank is giving me a dry and harsh vape when I do 18watts, 4.0v.
But that setting is decent with my nautilus.
Any thoughts?

sounds like the wick is dry.

anytime I get a dryish vape I reduce wattage;

when I do a fresh rewick, often I have to drop wattage; then over the next couple days the wattage goes up slowly

I don't have a Subtank, but I have the Atlantis, which is similar. I assume you're using the OCC coils and not the rebuildable section.

Dry hits can be caused by several things:

Too much power can cause dry hits, but if you're at 18 watts that shouldn't be an issue.

Not enough juice reaching the coil fast enough. The Subtank should handle most juices to 25 or more watts fine though. Did you wet the cotton in the coil before you vaped it? If not, you may have burned the cotton in the coil and ruined it.

If you're not getting enough airflow it could cause the coil to get too hot. The Subtank should have a pretty open airflow on it, so shouldn't be an issue, especially at only 18 watts.

Too much nicotine can cause a very harsh throat hit in a tank like this if you're doing direct lung inhales. Most people used a juice higher in VG and with 3-12mg of nicotine in sub ohm tanks. Do u know how much nicotine is in your juice after you cut it with flavorings?

Hope this helps.

Lots of answers to this post and all of them good. My suggestion, and my issue was finding a flavor/brand of juice that was better than my cigs. Sounds to me like you're blasting your juice with too high of watts and running dry. Find the flavor for you (a daunting task) and vape around 10 watts. I think it's all in your choice of juice!

I just put like 15drops of the 24mg nic juice, then fill the whole tank with melon flavor juice, even I start with only 10watts, 3.8v, inhale to mouth or straight to lung, still dry and harsh, so I am wondering normal watts and voltages will you guys use for 0.5ohm
My vendor did help me set up the tank and put a few drops to wet the cotton
