So I got my Joye 510 on Thursday and started vaping Friday......haven't had an analog since Friday night and feel like I could really do it this time.....HOWEVER, I have always and only smoked clove cigarettes and even made the switch to those nasty clove cigars that replaced the cigarettes when the cigarettes became illegal.....so far the liquids that I have are ok but I feel that in order for analogs to be completely out of the picture for me, I need a more realistic "clove cigarette" flavor.....I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.....I read good things about the Flavorshack's clove and have some on the way but would appreciate any and all feedback....thanks in advance

I've never smoked clove cigarettes, but my experience so far may help. I smoked at least a carton a week of Marlboro Reds and/or other full strength cigs for years. When I first started with the e-cig about 4 weeks ago, I was totally consumed with finding an e-liquid that closely matched that taste. The Marlboro versions and USA Mix flavors are what I started with, but they seemed to get more and more harsh after a week or so.

Then I started experimenting with some of the apple flavors and the sweeter tobacco flavors like RY4. For whatever reason, my flavor choice has now migrated to a 50/50 combo between the RY4 and Fried Apple (MadVapes) which I really like. It's weird for me since the present flavor is almost like a pipe tobacco my dad used to smoke, but I never liked back then. In my case, I'm thinking this is because after I stopped the analogs, my taste buds are beginning to come back and the harsher tobacco flavors don't taste as good anymore. Just a guess. Over time, you may find your choice of flavors change as your taste buds start coming back.

Good luck,
Rich

I used to love cigarettes once upon a time(20+ yrs ago), the Djarum non-filter variety, and it's one of the first special flavors I went hunting for, even before I ordered my kit. I only used to smoke them occasionally as they were so harsh, not to mention expensive. They were kind of a special treat or desert for me. When I quit smoking for several years I never went back even when I started up again.

After reading here and elsewhere I learned a few things that seemed to be very much key to finding the right clove for me(taken on faith since I had no direct experience). First, everybody seems to have a clove flavored juice, and they do taste like clove, but they do not recreate the taste of Djarum, not even the ones that advertise using the name Djarum. One or more elements would usually be missing, the hint of cinnamon, the slight sweetness, or the slight numbing sensation of the lips and tongue(caused by a substance called eugenol). The only clove flavor I read that captures all of the required elements is the Tasty Vapor kretek flavor. It was my first "specialty" order and I picked up some atomic cinnacide at the same time as I read so much about it I couldn't help myself. Both of these flavors are unreal. The kretek tastes so much like my recollection of the Djarum's from years past it's downright spooky. And the atomic cinnacide is as subtle as a water cannon(tastes like red hots) but delicious. I think if you like the clove you're very likely to like this also. For me they are both too overwhelming to vape all day every day, but once a day or every couple days they're a great treat. For a daily vape I need something flavorful but a bit milder. That may not be a problem for you since you're an everyday clove smoker.

There are several reviews around, including on youtube. Do a search on "Tasty-vapor kretek".

While I think the kretek I mentioned above is outstanding, I second everything Rich said. It took me less than two days to realize that recreating the flavor of my analogs was not going to be important at all, which did not occur to me before, and seems completely counter-intuitive(though you'll notice almost everyone says it). Get a variety so your tastebuds won't get bored at first. I was obsessed with finding a good Camel Lights knockoff, and frustrated that I could find no reference to it at all in any of my searches. I got a Desert Ship/Camel Dekang and it tasted okay, but nothing at all like I was expecting.

I'm at just under 2 wks vaping and my sense of taste has changed significantly in this short time off analogs. Flavors I didn't like at first have now come alive.

thanks for the input everyone.....I have no problem experimenting with different flavor and have (like I said above) managed to stay analog free for almost 48 hours which is nothing short of a minor miracle....I did order some of the Flavorshack's liquid and will definitely be ordering some Tasty Vapor version as well....plus that is about the 5th time today I read about atomic cinanacide so I guess that means I should try that too....
Can anyone recommend a good site that has like a flavor sampler you can put pick a bunch of flavors without breaking the bank???
