Welcome heavenlystars!! I started on a cigalike but it didn't do it for me. If it works for you, that is great!! I don't have anything fancy, just an ego with a clearomizer from the local smoke shop. but it does the trick for me. One day I would like to upgrade, my juice doesn't really taste like anything, but it keeps me off the analogs :)

PS Haven't smoked a cigarette since 5/6/2014

Congratulations!!!! I may try something different if I find myself wanting an analog cigarette to badly! I don't know much about the different ways to vape yet, but i'm a fast learner! :D

Welcome heavenlystars!

I started with a "cig-a-like" too, I was so attached to that familiar size and shape, but I chose one that 1) could be refilled, so I could choose my own flavors (hated the Blu's pipe tobacco taste), and 2) could be recharged, for obvious reasons: the JoyeTech eRoll. It did get me to quit smoking, but I got tired of the frequent refills, it only holds .4ml, and the constant recharging, like every 15 mins, so I upgraded to a variable voltage/wattage on which you can put any kind of tank you like, and it even has a "pass-through" so you can vape while it's charging.

Whatever helps you quit is a good thing, and will give you time to figure out what sort of vaporizer to upgrade to, when you get tired of the drawbacks of cig-a-likes. They're great for a short time, but when you know there's something better, it's hard to resist. I know for a fact that I was extremely attached to the idea that it had to be the size and shape of a cigarette, but I soon realized that the size and shape don't matter at all, it's what it can do for you that really counts.

Any questions you have, just post away; lots of friendly helpful folks around here -- this may be the friendliest forum on the internet!

Welcome!!

Welcome!!
Andria

Thank you! I can't wait to learn about what is out there! For once in my life, I feel like I can really overcome analog cigarettes. There is hope! I appreciate everyone's warm welcome! :)

Welcome to ECF!

I also started with a cigalike. I found ECF when I was trying to find a cheaper way to get cartomizers. This was 3 years ago, and though I did find cheaper compatible cartomizers I decided to upgrade anyway. My first upgrade was to an ego sized battery (it wasn't an ego, but the size and shape was similar). I eventually branched out into all sorts of other stuff.

If I was starting today, I'd probably go with an ego twist, a vision spinner, an Itaste vv, or an mvp2 (though the form factor of the mvp2 might not appeal to a newly switched vaper). For toppers I'd probably try out a few bottom coil ones and a few top coil ones, to see what I liked best. For juice, I'd go to various B&M stores to sample the various flavors available.

I actually started a Ego kit and the best advice I can give is:

1) find the right strenght juice (too week and it won't help the craving and too strong and you won't like the vap)
2) it is alright to stumble when trying to get off analogs, just know that you are close to getting to the final date.

Chad

Thank you for your advice. I will look up the ego kits and research them :)

I found this forum by googling e-cig forums, lol. I have bronchitis at the moment, and am so fed up with smoking for various reasons. I still have a lot of learning to do about coils and juice and such :)

Hi, welcome to ECF! I used Blu in the past also. As time went on I found I needed in upgrade. But what ever keeps you off ciggrettes is a good thing! You found a wonderful place for lots of great info! We all look forward to any questions you may have.

Thank you, I have learned a lot already! :)

Hi and welcome to ECF. Grats on making the change from analogs. If you are happy with what you use then that's cool, as long as its working for you. If you decide to take it further there are many on here who will give you good advice and point you in a direction that wont break the bank. :)

I definitely need help with keeping the cost down as much as possible! Lol
