Thank you! I can't wait to learn about what is out there! For once in my life, I feel like I can really overcome analog cigarettes. There is hope! I appreciate everyone's warm welcome! :)

I had the same feeling when I first discovered vaping, even though I hadn't yet quit smoking entirely, but for the first time I felt hopeful that THIS TIME I really could overcome it, and that's absolutely true; this is by far the best way to quit smoking that has ever been invented. One good thing about this place, it's such a supportive environment because it's all about *harm reduction* -- nobody here is perfect, a lot of folks take some time to really get the "quit" down pat -- it took me about 30 days from when I started vaping till I finally quit -- but it's not about being perfect, it's about the ones you DON'T smoke, because every one you don't smoke is a step in the right direction. Even those who consider themselves "dual users" -- they vape AND smoke -- smoke a lot less than they did before vaping, and that's a good thing too.

And it's even less expensive than cigarettes, although there is an epidemic around here called "shinyitis", and just about everyone will love to help you spend your money; it almost seems like a competition to see who has the most and the shiniest and the coolest vapetoys. :D It really irritated me when I first got here, everyone telling me "buy this" "buy that" but it's kinda funny how when you stop spending that ungodly amount for cigarettes, suddenly you have money to buy other things! :D

I found this forum by googling e-cig forums, lol. I have bronchitis at the moment, and am so fed up with smoking for various reasons. I still have a lot of learning to do about coils and juice and such :)

Back when I was smoking I used to dread getting a simple cold. At the first feeling of a scratchy throat, sneezes and sniffles, I knew that a few weeks of bronchitis was inevitable. I mean, every time. If my kids and husband got the same cold, they'd be mostly over it in a few days. I, on the other hand, would be in for weeks of chest pain and wracking deep coughing. I haven't had bronchitis since I switched ~3 years ago. This is not to say that Vapers never get bronchitis, but the difference for me has been amazing. Going from bronchitis at least 2x a year to not once in 3 years is wonderful.

I really like that! Instead of feeling like a failure if I slip up, I can still feel good about what I have accomplished. Thank you for showing me that!!!!! (((hugs)))

That is me all the way!!! I get bronchitis twice a year and sometimes even walking pneumonia. I know that part of the reason is my smoking analog cigarettes has wreaked havoc on me and lowered my immune system. Not only am I going to vape instead of smoking, but I plan on making my own fruit and vegetable juices and eating healthier :D

When you are ready, upgrade to an Ego-Twist, JoyTech Spinner or iTaste vv3. You can adjust the "heat" on all of them and that is part of how you get the best taste from your e-liquid (juice). The other benefits are that you can buy all kinds of tasty juices from a huge number of vendors (see the e-liquid discussion part of the forum) and you can adjust the amount of nicotine you get (24 ml, 18, 12, 6 and zero, generally) so that you can beat any cravings. Good luck with the quitting--I love it when I go to bed and my hair smells like vanilla from the juice I was vaping!

I think i'm going to need stronger nicotine than what Blu is giving me. I never thought about my hair smelling like the different flavors of the juices! Sweet! :D

Its not just your hair you get the nice smell in the room as well. You can also mix shop bought flavours, if you don't make your own, to make your own blends. ATM im using Virginia and to that I mix in 20% vanilla custard + 20%cherry or I change out the cherry for raspberry or the vanilla for caramel or cotton candy. Though with the cotton candy I just put a small squirt in the 10ml mixing bottle as its pretty overpowering that one.

I'm new to the forum as well, but not quite as new to vaping. After smoking for 32 years and trying various "other" methods of quitting smoking, I started off with Blu cig-a-likes last year (I still have 2 starter kits and 4 or 5 unused cartos collecting dust on the shelf), but was still smoking as well. Don't get me wrong, I was down from a pack a day to less than 5 analogs a day, but I just wasn't getting enough nic or vapor from the Blu. Went back to strictly analogs until this February. At the insistence of my good H.S. friend who has been vaping for over two years, I went down to the local vape shop and bought an eGo kit and a couple of bottles of Ejuice. After I got a battery fully charged and took my first puff off the eGo, I put my pack of analog cigs down. Haven't touched them since. This Saturday makes 4 months that I haven't had one. IMO, if you really want to have the best shot of putting down the smokes, spend a little bit on the kit...it'll be worth your time and $$$! A word of warning, though, this hobby can be a big money pit if you let it. I myself am really satisfied with my Vamo V2 with a Kayfun RBA and don't plan on buying too much more in the short term. I am addicted, however, and more than likely will succomb to shineyitis sooner or later...

welcome heavenlystars ... I also started with Blu and knew I could quit smoking

had to upgrade though

Welcome, Heavenlystars!

This is my story, too. I bought a Blu starter kit at Walgreens on New Years Day. Using it for a few days and not smoking let me know that the concept of e cigarettes would work to quit cigarettes. I did think the cartridges were a little expensive, though, and the battery life was so short. Then I found this forum and read about the many other wonderful options available. Haven't looked back, and haven't smoked, either.

Good luck to you, and glad you made the switch.:)

I did pretty much the same thing, but started with Greensmoke (after trying 1 NJoy from the local drugstore). Found this forum around a week later and I was off to the races. Gave my Greensmoke kit to the one friend I have who still smokes. She still smokes and I suspect the Greensmokes are gathering dust at her house.

Hi, I just switched from analog cigarettes to Blu e cig this evening. I am a two and a half pack a day smoker, but this is actually helping curb my desire for an analog cigarette. I welcome all tips and advice and can't wait to meet others who are on this same path. :)

I haven't run into many... any really... who've quit completely with Blu but a lot who got started with them. Myself included. I was pretty amazed at how much I cut back on smoking using Blu. Didn't stay with them long but they did prove to me there was something worth looking into with this "vaping" thing.

A year after my last cigarette, I'm still a little surprised I quit. Nobody thought I'd quit. Especially not me. :)

Congratulations!!!! I may try something different if I find myself wanting an analog cigarette to badly! I don't know much about the different ways to vape yet, but i'm a fast learner! :D

Find yourself a local vape shop. Check out the hardware and definitely sample the juices they have. I think that should cure your Blus.

Nobody who gives vaping a serious try is any kind of failure! Some people, it works for them right away, they vape and put the cigarettes right down; others, it takes a bit longer. I was so discouraged by all my previous failures that I didn't want to get my hopes up too much, just in case this didn't work either -- it just flat out amazed me how, *without even trying*, the number of cigarettes I smoked per day just steadily went down; I started keeping a tally of cigs smoked, about the end of the first week when I saw this happening. I went from 15-16 a day, and by the next week, was down to like 10 a day, the next week, 5 a day... the beginning of the last week I smoked, I smoked 3; the next day, 2, and the next 3 days, just 1 each day. So I knew it was really over, and there was no more point procrastinating, these things had already wiped out 99.99% of all the cigarettes I smoked, so it seemed somewhat like pulling off a bandaid one hair at a time, to keep on with the 1 a day business. That first morning smoke-free, I'd already been smoke-free for 24 hrs, and yeah it was a *little* challenging, but a lot less so than I had feared it would be. I got thru that day without smoking, and more importantly, once the morning was over, without craving -- I'd done no-smoking before, but without cravings? WHAT A MIRACLE! Now I'm almost at 12 wks, and it's still miraculous, just beyond belief -- after 39 yrs imitating a chimney, I'm a non-smoker!

So true about *everything* smelling better -- I've been married for nearly 27 yrs, but my husband says I'm much nicer to kiss and hug! Also, my cat would *never* lick my right hand, because of the cigarette funk -- now she seems to find both my hands quite tasty! :D

I also use Virginia, from MyFreedomSmokes, and I mix in some Oak Barrel Cider pipe sauce (quite appley with a Virginia base), and a bit of cinnamon redhot -- terrific mix! The Oak Barrel Cider winds up being about 1/16 total volume; the cinnamon redhot, about 1/32.

Great.

1: hang on to your wallet
2: your tastebuds are going to change
3: when you stop smoking there are certain things that do tend to happen, like you'll be coughing for a few weeks as the cilia in your lungs get activate and start throwing up stuff for you to spit out.
