Well my wife and I are new to vaping. After spending so much on cigs per week and a newly pregnant wife that's having a hard time quitting we decided to try vaping. We both have tried a lot of the cheap e-cigs that just didn't do it. After seeing vaping actually gives you the hit you want I was sold. Right now I have the ego twist with a vivi nova and the wife has the mini vivi nova with just a reg ego battery which I wish I got her the twist now. She's not getting enough hit from it to satisfy her like it does with my twist. I was trying to keep it slimline and feminine going with a small battery. I should have just gotten the twist for her to begin with. Oh well that's how we learn ,right? I'm already wanting to upgrade but I got tons of questions and have done so much reading I have confused myself lol!

Yeah its better than smoking. We got to taper off just like using patches. Nicotine is nicotine but at least with vaping you aren't getting all the chemical junk. Goal is getting down to 0%
Of course drs rather quit cold turkey, lol anyone ever dealt with a hormonal women quitting cold turkey? lol

Someone correct me if I wrong but think the pg is propol-glycol and the vg is vegetable-glycol. The first is for throat hit "burness against back of threat" Kind of like smoking lights vs reds. The vg is responsible more for the vapor/smoke looking stuff that comes out. As beginner I use 50/50 as I didn't know what to get. The pg is used in hospital vaporizers so I'm guessing it can't be too bad for you. All the vegetable also sounds healthier for you? A long time user probably can give a more definitive answer but I'm guessing no one can tell you with any certainty as to which is "better/healthier" for you as there have been no long term studies on either.

Welcome to ECF! And congratulations on making the choice to forget about Big Tobacco.

PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerin) are both completely safe. The PG Offers less vapor and more Throat Hit. The VG is the opposite. So find a blend which works for you guys, which will most likely be different for each of you. And this process will take experimentation. But will all the money saved on smoking it's not a big deal. Both PG and VG are used in medical applications.

Welcome! New on this site as well. Talk to your MD first before she stops vaping. 36 yrs ago went through the HELL of a hormonal, pregnant woman going cold turkey! Did again 20 yrs ago! Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. While nic isn't good for you, her or the baby, vaping is still much better than smoking. If she is able to do 0 nic great but again talk to her obgyn first.

Congrats! We want to start trying for another baby soon. Was a very light, secretive smoker (2-3 analogs a day) when I switched to vaping about 3 weeks ago. No analogs since. Started with 2.4% nic, dropped down to 1.2% nic. Hope to be down to 0% and no propylene glycol in two months, done in 6. That's my plan. Don't want nicotine in my system when we're trying to conceive, and really don't want to take chances vaping while pregnant even if there's no nicotine or PG in the juice.
I DEEPLY regret that I smoked on more than one occasion while pregnant with my first. Not cool. While I was blessed with a healthy, intelligent, beautiful first child, it was so dangerous and irresponsible. That said, I do NOT judge your wife. We all know how hard it is to quit, we've all harmed others because of our smoking, even with thirdhand smoke. I'm sure a lot of us know how stressful pregnancy is. I hope she tapers off soon and finds other ways to relax. Prenatal yoga is AWESOME, and a good way for mom and baby to get lots of oxygen. Best of luck! :)
