Hello! I'm new to vaping, been wanting to try it for a while. I smoke Black and Milds (Mild and Wine are my favorite flavors) and I inhale. I've noticed how detrimental doing so has been to my health, so it was time to make a change. Finally a few weeks ago I researched e-cigs, and to my surprise I saw they had the cigar style. I ended up doing much comparing and ordered a Ruyan cigar (not the disposable). The reasons I chose it:

1. Bigger battery
2. Bigger cartridge
3. Love the mouthpiece, can dangle between my teeth like a boss
4. No exhaled vapor! Incognito vaping at work is win
5. The style of a tipped cigarillo I like, it's different and bigger than an e-cig. Freud would be proud

So I got mine from China about 4 days ago and here's my first impressions:

Disappointment. Here's my issues:

The draw. It was a very hard draw like a milkshake through a coffee straw. I did research on this forum and followed the instructions someone posted to clean it. First I did the manual cleaning by pressing down the button. Much sizzling and smoking occurred, repeated several times. No improvement. Then I followed someone elses advice to take it apart, fill the end with hot water, blow it through a few times. I also turned it upside down and sucked the water through, which was much easier. Let it dry, and now it draws nicely. Problem remedied! :thumb:

The battery life. At full charge the two batteries together last about 4 hours and almost 1 cartridge. It came with two 360mAh batteries, I've looked online and easily available are 500 and 600 mAh versions, although that doesn't seem like a lot more. There's another 800 mAh version I discovered but they are a bulk order (100+ at a time) or some such garbage. Problem persists :nah:

The strength. I was and still am very let down by how weak the hits are on this. I only rarely get a 'throat hit' and when I do it requires me to take a very long, slow 7-10 second draw. I've since gotten accustomed to it a bit, but still don't get the throat hit a lot even when doing so! I am using their most powerful juice, the 16mg, and to my dismay I see that is the strongest they offer. I've read that modding the cigar with higher voltage (5-6v) could be a solution, but having a box hang off my cigar is ridiculous. Naturally I can't find a stronger voltage battery that would fit the 10x44mm chamber (and also be rechargeable). I've read about juicing, or dripping, and went out and purchased some 24mg juice, but it was VG, produced a lot of vapor, was thick and clingy in my throat, and tasted too sweet (Virginia Blend). I tried samples of many juices at my local malls kiosk and well, they're all like candy and rainbows and stuff to me. I think I need to stick to a PG juice like what comes with the Ruyan, and preferably the same flavor, although I don't know what the flavor is or what to call it.

I don't know if I can modify anything on my Ruyan, or I should look at another brand. I've heard the RN4062 is good, but it's discontinued? What about a Dse901? I'm open to a hard-hitting e-cig that's slightly longer than a normal e-cig with the cigarillo tip like that. But of course, smaller carts, smaller battery, smaller overall size, and vapor exhaling are all the downsides.

I know I will have to make a compromise somewhere. If it's just one of the aforementioned 5 things I dig about my Ruyan, then I think I'll be satisfied enough to quit analogs altogether :2cool:

Any thoughts? BestLion?

Thanks guys!

if you want cigar flavour and something that hits hard, I just ordered a sample of dekang cigar. it reminds me of a cheaper knockoff of a cohiba. it really hits the chest hard to the point I do the double inhale (second one is just air to not cough)hehe. I love cigars myself and missed them more than cigs when I got into vaping. been trying a few cigar flavours. my fav right now is hilton and actually my all day vape juice.

Good input! I looked those up and the only question I have is are they VG or PG juices?

Okay so I'm about to order some dekang juices. We'll see how it goes. I'm getting cigar, tobacco, and marl.

I've found a site that claims to sell the Ruyan flavor, but I'm wondering which 'version' of it. I'm really interested in finding the flavor that came with my e-cigar, albeit one of a higher strength than 16mg or at least a stronger flavor. To my understanding there's people out there that make 'similar' flavors - RY1, RY2, RY3, and RY4. I don't know about the rest but reviews I've read about the RY4 have claimed it tastes sweet like cotton candy or some such nonsense. Sounds nothing like what I'm tasting right now :/

In other news I've gone and purchased a handful of better rechargeable batteries from the Battery Junction, hopefully they will last beyond the 2 hours max that the ones I got with my cigar give me! I know 500 mAh isn't much more than 360 but I don't think my 360 mAh batteries really get even half what their rated for. Seriously, 2 hours max. About 3/4 of a cartridge...

I still would like to hear opinions from you seasoned pros as this newbie struggles to find happiness in vaping!

I would avoid the juice from deal exteme. The price isn't the best and it takes like month to get. Here is RY4 50ml bottles for a much better price...
50 ml RY4, 24mg

Yeah but $11 (and 50ml) each is a bit much to ask for trying out flavors I might not like, bro.
Also I believe I specifically do not want the RY4 flavor, so

There are still plenty of better US vendors who sell 5ml bottles for cheaper and you receive them in just2-3 days insted of
1month. Also the juice you linked is prob. RY4(OR 1 OR 2 OR 3, etc)

You can also order a sampler pack from here of Dekang juice. They have very fast shipping.

I wouldn't spend too much time and money on the Ruyan cigar, seriously. I smoked cigars for way too many years and was looking for one when I got into vaping but I'm really glad I didn't buy one! I found this wonderful forum and learned about 510 compatible units called Ego's which I bought and still use today. Get a Riva deluxe kit from Liberty Flights and check out the samplers available at Want2Vape, they have truly amazing cigar juice there made from real tobacco extract. The Alcazar and Tabak Especial are wonderful. If you want to get into all day, one fill one charge vaping, I have a new GoGo stainless kit for sale as well. Do some research friend, this place is wonderful.

Wow, wonderful suggestions! I'm actually now thinking an e-pipe might be the solution I'm looking for, but I also have a critical eye on the 510s you mentioned. I'm confused though, were you recommending the eGo 510 or the Riva 510? I'm not noticing a lot of difference there, but maybe I don't know what to look for? My browsing on them introduced me to many new terms such as 'tanking' & 'dipping', and honestly I'm more confused now than before :/ How can I get a tapered cigarillo style mouthpiece for either of these? What in the world is a manual button on the battery for? Is there a cut-off on the length of draw you can make? Is this a good deal? I will have to do much more diggin on this when I get an opportunity.

I have however modyfied my own expectations, thanks in large part to the advice given here, and my past week of personal vaping experiences. Consider my priorities in vaping to be ammended!

New set of criteria in an e-vaping device:

1. High capacity battery and high capacity refillable cartridge
2. Black&Mild/cigarillo style mouthpiece (can dangle between my teeth like a boss)
3. Low exhaled vapor (PG juice?). Incognito vaping at work is win!
4. Medium-to-easy draw (no McDonald's milkshake through a coffee straw thank you!)
5. Mega throat hits, aka the double-draw effect :)

I was recommending the Riva 510 Carto Deluxe kit which is an Ego type unit. You can get a nice kit with two cones and 5 cartomizers for $35.00 after 20% discount!
With your listed criteria, if your require a whistle tip design, you have only to choose between the GoGo and Echo, the Echo might be a better choice for you because it has an automatic battery, check it out here at cropduster901:
, I also have a new stainless GoGo kit for sale complete with two cones for $55 shipped.

Looks amazing! I just ordered me one :)

I'm about to order some dekang juice, either from Valley Vapor or E-Liquid-Store or Heaven Gifts. The latter is cheaper, and seems to have the same flavors but I'm curious as to why no one suggested that site? Another thought was myPVshop but they don't have the selection I'm interested in, and slightly high prices even for sampler pack...

One last note, if dekang wasn't what everyone has been saying to go to for the maker of juice, I would have looked at HG's own juice as, even though one of the more expensive ones, they do offer 36mg/ml strength!

EDIT: ahh i see the difference, Valley Vapor is almost twice as much per bottle but i can get it in 2-3 days, the other two are 7-10 days and very expensive shipping! Valley Vapor it 'tis!

Any other flavors you guys would recommend?
